“Beast!” Her fist hammered his chest in mock anger, then her fingers opened and slid slowly over the circle of rough skin, and his skin flinched like a horse irritated by a fly. She traced a circle on his rousing flesh, and pouted even though he could not see her.
“I thought you might have preferred the blue gown I wore tonight.”
“I adored the gown you wore tonight because you were in it,” he said, aware of the deepening thud of his heart. “I will always adore you in anything at all…” He found her mouth and nuzzled it. “And I will especially adore you in nothing.”
“As I am now?” She moved gently against him, and the shivers increased a thousand-fold.
“As you are now,” he said, and claimed her mouth.
