Meeting you was a fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control. -unknown

”Go ahead girl, I am not mad at you,” Vanessa said as I walked back into the hospital.

“Oh you saw that,” I said as I tried to correct my smeared lipstick.

“Girl everyone saw that, Lamar said as he and Domonique joined us.

“So obviously you had a good time,” Domonique said.

“Yes we did. We just shared a really good meal and some conversation. He has a four year old son. He comes from a huge family and they are really close, I said filling them in.

“Is he a good kisser?” Vanessa asked.

“The best, I said laughing. I am comfortable around him and I like who I am with him,” I said.

“Hold up wait a minute, Lamar interjected. Did you say that he had a son?”

“Yes, I answered looking at Lamar with a raised eyebrow. What Lamar? Spit it out,” I said.

“That means he got an aggravating, I am still in love with you, let’s be a family, baby mama. Which means you will probably have baby mama drama,” he said with a serious face.

Vanessa and Domonique said, “Okay!” in unison.

“Y’all encouraged me to get my feet wet and I am doing that. I am having fun and I like him. God please don’t let there be any baby mama drama!” I pleaded into the atmosphere.

“Honey, there is going to be some baby mama drama, please believe that,” Lamar said.

“Maybe she is mature and you guys will all get along,” Vanessa said encouragingly.

“I wouldn’t get my hopes up, Domonique responded. I got to keep it real with you baby girl. Somewhere in this world his baby mama is hating that she let that one get away. He’s fine as hell, he works, he‘s got his own place, and he loves his mama, Domonique said with emphasis. That Bitch is salty, I promise you that,” she finished.

“Cross that bridge when you get there honey,” Vanessa said.

“Did you guys set another date?” Lamar asked.

“He is coming over to my place on Thursday to watch Grey’s Anatomy with me,” I said.

Lamar let out a deep breathe, “Honey he is not coming over to watch television with you. He wants to seal the deal. Are you ready for that?”

“I haven’t thought about it,” I responded honestly.

“Well think about it and grab a box of condoms,” Domonique advised.

“Y’all are too much, I am going to go get my things and go home,” I said.

“We love you and have to keep it real with you honey,” Domonique said.

“Oh, did you ask him about Omar and Alyssa?” Lamar asked being more serious.

“No I forgot, I will ask him on Thursday,” I said as I continued to walk to the locker room.

On the ride home, I thought about everything that my friends had said. I thought about our lunch. I thought about what it would mean to allow Darren into my personal space. I am so weird and quirky and I wonder if when he gets to know that side of me, will he still like me. I don’t know what his end game is. All I know is that I like him and I want to spend more time with him. For the first time in a long time I wanted to call my mom for advice.

You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens. -Mandy Hale

“Man are you going to hit the gym with us today?” Damien asked as he sat down on my desk.

“Yeah, I am finishing up this last report and I will meet you guys down there,” I said as I signed my name to a few more documents.

“Cool,” he said hitting on the side of my desk and walking towards the locker room.

I sat back in chair, stretching my limbs out and rubbing my eyes. I was coming off of my sixth twelve hour shift and I was exhausted.  I had been working the a.m. shift this week so I had spent some time with Omar and tonight after I hit the gym, I was going to have dinner at Shanice’s house.

I was looking forward to a home cooked meal, eating food on the go, gets old. I was looking forward to spending some more time with Shanice.

I was feeling her and that was for sure. I was amazed that she didn’t flinch when I told her about Immanuel.  Once she had decided to give me a chance, she’d really given me a chance. She worked crazy hours at the hospital, on various shifts so she wasn’t needy or clingy.  She cares about the community just like I do. It feels like she was created for me. She is my rib.

Just thinking about her kisses, the smell of her skin, and the way her thick body had been pressed up against mine was enough to start giving me an erection.

I shook my head, stood to my feet, adjusted my pants, and went to the locker room to grab my gym bag.

I hit the gym with the whole team for an hour. We swapped stories from our shifts and some of the arrest we had made. We had a couple of laughs before I hit the showers and got dressed in a baby blue oxford causal dress shirt and blue jeans, which were paired with my wheat colored timbers.

I wasn’t even tired anymore. Excitement was taking over. I sprayed on a little of my cologne and placed everything back into my bag.

I gave the team some love before I left and hit the road.

You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough. -unknown

I can’t believe I had managed to get everything done in time. Today was supposed to be my half day but life happened. A pregnant young lady from the Help Center had come in and she was in labor. She was all alone and scared, so I stayed with her through labor and delivery. I felt sorry for the young lady, because the reality of the situation is that all odds are against her right now. To make matters worse she had no support system besides the Help Center. To be honest, we are not equipped to provide her with the kinds of help that she is going to need. Nonetheless, mom and baby were both doing well and were resting when I left.

I had come home and took a hot shower.  I slipped into a short sleeved bright yellow dress shirt and a pair of fitted blue jeans. I hadn’t flat ironed my hair so I was sporting my natural curly hair, which was up in a ponytail. I only put on a light dusting of make-up and one of my favorite fragrances. I slipped my pedicured feet into a pair of black sandals.

I came into the living room and turned on the radio before walking into the kitchen and opening a bottle of rich red wine.  I washed my hands and put on my apron and began to prepare our dinner.

I was excited and nervous all at the same time. My home says a lot about the person that I am. I would be the first to admit to being weird and quirky, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I liked who I had become and it had taken me a while to do that. The struggle was baked into the walls.

I took another sip of my wine and thought he will either like it or he won’t. Either way the world would not come to an end.

As dinner cooked, I picked up around the house and lit some cranberry mandarin scented candles throughout the living room and kitchen area. I placed a white lace circular table cloth on the table. Then I set the table with my good china, silverware, and glassware. Just as I was pulling the garlic bread from the oven, the doorbell rang.

I placed the bread on top of the oven. I took off my apron and checked my appearance in the mirror once more before answering the door.

“Hey, come on in,” I said as I stepped back and allowed Darren to enter.

“You have a beautiful home,” Darren said as he entered.

“Thank you” I said, before adding, “well come on in and get comfortable.”

“I will give you a tour of the house once we’ve eaten if you are up to it,” I suggested as he removed his jacket and hung it up.

“I would love that,” he said in what I perceived as a genuine interest.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.-Albert Einstein

Shanice owned a single story country home with a wraparound porch. She had an even row of evergreen scrubs out of the porch. The living room was painted paradise green with black walnut wood accents.  There were scented candles lit around the room and a fireplace as well. The kitchen and dining room area was painted a bright sunny yellow with sunflowers wallpaper as a border. The table was set nicely for two. Dinner smelled heavenly.

“Shanice you are going to have me spoiled,” I said as I sat down and she fixed my plate.

“You deserve it,” she said as she continued to fix my plate. I don’t know what she had prepared yet, but it smelled so good.

Within a matter of seconds, a fresh garden salad had been placed in front of me, followed by a plate with the main course. She had prepared smoked parmesan chicken on a bed of penne pasta, smothered in marinara sauce, corn on the cob, and garlic bread.

“Do you want iced tea, soda, lemonade, or wine?” she asked.

“I’ll take iced tea please,” I replied.

She filled our glasses and joined me at the table. I reached for her hands and said a quick prayer of thanks over our food.

She waited until I took the first bite of my food before she began to eat hers. It was so good. I could get use to this for sure. Throughout the meal, we talked and we laughed. She was more relaxed tonight than she had been in the past. I think the glass of wine she had had before I’d arrived helped with that.

When we finished dinner, she rinsed out the dishes and placed them in the dishwasher.

“Do you want to eat dessert now or do you want to do a tour of the house?” she asked.

“I am so full right now, let’s do the tour,” I suggested.

“My house is a variety of colors and each room has a theme. I used the green in the living room because green is the color of prosperity. It is also a symbol for growth. I used the yellow in kitchen and dining room because it is so cheerful. When I was younger some of the best memories I made with my mom was in the kitchen. I want to make good memories in my kitchen with my friends and family too. This is my sitting room and I painted it tangerine dream orange because orange is a color of courage, optimism, and be rejuvenating to the spirit. I make quilts in here. I have quiet times in here and I make must of my plans in here.”

“It looks very relaxing,” I said as I took in the fountain and scented candles.

“It really is,” she replied.

“I have two rooms that I am using as guest rooms. I painted one baby blue for Lamar and the other one is pink for Vanessa and Domonique. My room is painted in a beautiful lilac lavender color, she said as she opened the door. I painted this shade of purple because purple is the color royalty, dignity, wisdom, peace, and ambition. It is a reminder to carry myself like a Queen.”

“You really do have a beautiful home,” I said as we walked back towards the front of the house.

“Thank you,” she said.

“This is so off topic, but what do you know about Omar and Alyssa’s situation?” she asked me as we sat down on the sofa.

“I got hooked up with Omar through the Big Brother program. There is a weird vibe around their home. I am ninety nine percent certain that some form of abuse occurs in the home. Omar hasn’t had any unexplainable bruises or broken limbs. He is outgoing. Alyssa on the other hand is completely shut down. I was glad that she had gotten involved in with the Help Center,” I said.

“That’s the thing, she isn’t really involved. She hangs out there. She speaks when spoken too but she mostly just reads her books. She helps Omar with his homework. I just feel like she is coming to Help Center to escape her home life, but I don’t know for sure. If that were the case she wouldn’t be the first. I just don’t know how to help her. I don’t want to miss something you know and have to carry the guilt of that with me,” she explained.

“I understand completely. It is one of those cases where we just have to continue to be there and pray about the rest,” I encouraged.

“You are right,” she said.

After a few seconds, she said, Grey’s Anatomy is going to start in like fifteen minutes do you want me to prepare you a bowl of peach cobbler with butter pecan ice cream before it starts.

“Omg girl, I am going to have to add an extra day to my workout fooling around with you,” I said teasing her.

She brushed her hands across my chest and said, “No, I think you are going to be okay.”

She went into the kitchen and prepared dessert and I went to bathroom to pull myself together. Shanice was fanning the flame. I wanted her and if she kept brushing on me and touching me, I might not be able to take it slow.

Only do what your heart tells you. - Princess Diana

Darren looked really good and he smelled so good. He was temptation on two legs. To very strong legs at that, I thought as I made him a bowl of peach cobbler with butter pecan ice cream.

My wild imagination was not helping me at all.

I wanted him to pick me up and put me on top of this counter. I want him to cup my double D breast in his hands and just run the pads of his thumbs across my nipples until they were standing at attention begging for his hungry mouth to devour them.  I want him to strip me bare. I want him to spread my lips and lower his head and dive straight in. Giving my clit the best massage it has ever had with his long pink tongue. I want him to have me quaking and shaking from his touch. I would be a bad girl and tell him to let me taste myself. I would lick my cum from his fingers and kiss him passionately, letting him know I enjoyed the taste of my honey pot. That would be the only incentive that he would need to place me on my feet and turn me around and hit it from the back. I would feel his passion mixed with a little bit of pain as he entered me, but it wouldn’t be long before I would be cumming all over his tool as he delivered power strokes to my honey pot. I would explode all over his long thick manhood.

To show my appreciation I would get down on my knees and finish him with a blowjob.  I would clean up the mess from my orgasm and swallow the cum from his. I would be so into it, I wouldn’t even realize he had a hand full of my hair in his hands and had been tugging on it lightly.

“You okay,” Darren asked bringing me out of my daydream. I damn near dropped the dessert bowls.

“I am fine. I was just daydreaming,” I said reaching him his bowl.

“I am going to run to the restroom and I will join you in the living room in a moment,” I said as I walked briskly to the bathroom.
