“I’m a’ight. You?”

“I’m good. You want something to drink?”

“A bottle of spring water would be nice.” Just then, a waitress was heading toward them.

“What can I get you tonight?” she asked, never taking her eyes off Trae.

“Can you get my woman some bottled water and a club soda for me?” She quickly lost her grin, nodded and slipped away. “Did I just hear you claim me?” she asked.

“Tash you’re gonna be the one to have my babies.”

She laughed, “I’ma take that as a joke because I see you’re full of them.”

“A’ight. We’ll see. You sure you don’t want none of this?” he asked, pointing at the ice bucket holding the two bottles.

“I’m sure. I gotta have a clear head when dealing with you. I don’t know what to expect or what you’ll do next. You already got me walking around without panties.”

“I don’t know why you trippin’. That shit is sexy, and it’s only between you and me,” he said, rubbing his hand up and down her thigh. He saw the waitress coming and pulled out his money clip. He paid her then motioned for her to keep the change.

“This club is tight. I like the atmosphere,” she said, looking around. “And the booths add a nice touch.”

“Yeah, you can enjoy the show without being all up on people,” Trae said. He looked at his Rolex. “We have a half hour to kill if they start on time. What do you want to do?”

“Do you know where Jaz and Faheem is sitting?” she asked.

He shook his head. Couples were out on the dance floor, the deejay having slowed it down. The club was dimly lit other than the stage area which had a booming sound system. Trae grabbed her hand. “C’mon Tash. This is your song!”

Jaheim was singing, Could it be the ice you see?

“Oh, you wrong for that Trae. It ain’t even like that.” He laughed. “Oh it ain’t like that?”

“You should know. You the one who doin’ all the chasing. Tash got her own ice, her own Beamer, her own house, and a job. I should be asking you, ‘Could it be?’” They both started laughing. “Nah, but I am feeling you.”

He pulled her close as they swayed to the smooth sounds of Jaheim. “How long you plan on playing hard to get?”

“Hard to get? I’m really trying not to fuck with you.”

“Why not?”

“Because ... I already told you.” Their bodies were moving in sync to the music.

“Tell me again,” he said, rubbing his nose lightly over on her neck and ear.

“Can’t we just kick it from time to time just like we doing now?” She melted into him.

“Like we doing now? Ma, we on the verge of fuckin’.”

“No, we’re not.”

“Yes, we are.” He smiled and pulled her closer.

“What’s so funny?”

“You’re gonna have my last name and you don’t even see it.”

“Oh, am I?”

“Fo’ sho’. Just watch.”

“You’re taking your personal pursuits a little too far, don’t you think?” She tried not to laugh.

“A’ight, we gonna see who has the last laugh.”

They were now swaying to the sounds of Eryka Badu singing, “What you gonna do when they come for you? Work ain’t honest, but it pays the bills.”

“This song means so much,” said Tasha.

“I’m not gonna leave you hanging Tash. Believe that.” The only thing he got from Tasha was a sigh.

He led her back to their booth after that song. As soon as they sat down Trae leaned over and kissed her, sliding one hand up her thigh and, with the other, moving her up to the edge of the cushioned bench.

“See what I mean? I never know what to expect next. What are you up to now Trae?”

He kissed her again and then inserted two fingers inside of her.

“Trae people can see us,” she whispered, trying to keep her composure. Trae was actually trying to take her there.

“Nobody can see what I’m doing. My back is blocking you, and this long tablecloth is covering everything else. Plus it’s dark. Just relax Tash,” he whispered. He was moving his fingers in and out and all around at a slow pace. She was very wet. That told him it was all good. She was now biting her lip and breathing heavily.

“Trae baby, don’t do this here,” she pleaded, sliding her hand on top of his. “Please don’t make me cum. I’ll mess up my dress.” She tried to grab his hand, but he kept on going. “Damn you Trae. Are you listening to me?” Her voice was now trembling.

“Relax ma. I got a big handkerchief. You won’t mess up your dress.”

“Damn this feels good,” she muttered, her eyes closed. He picked up the pace a little, then pulled his fingers out and started pressing firmly on her clit with circular motions, just like he did to her in the kitchen. “Oh shit!”

When he felt the first contraction, he used his other hand to grab the big linen napkin off the table. As she started cumming her legs started shaking. He then kissed her to stifle her moaning. She rested her head on his shoulder, still breathing heavily and trying to get herself together as he wiped her off.

“Trae I can’t believe you did that! I can’t believe I let you do that! I am so fucking embarrassed,” she said, looking around to see if anyone saw what had happened. He put his arm around her and tried not to laugh. “Let me go to the ladies’ room. I see that smirk on your face.”

He slid out of the booth and stood up. She slid over, and he helped her up. “Is anything on my dress?” she asked as she was turning around to see her butt.

“It’s dark, baby. You cool. Go ahead to the restroom. I’ll meet you back here,” he said, cleaning up the mess before going to the men’s room.

Tasha walked into the bathroom and didn’t even notice Jaz washing her hands and watching her through the mirror.

“Miss Tasha, I was looking for you. Where are y’all sitting? And why are your cheeks so flushed?”

“You don’t want to know why. Where are y’all sitting? Here, hold my bag.”

“I just asked you that same question. Damn, what’s Trae out there doing to you?” Jaz asked, trying to figure out what was up with her girl. She had grabbed a whole wad of paper towels and was soaking them in hot water.

“We’re sitting up front in the corner,” she said, disappearing into the bathroom stall. Where are y’all sitting?”

“Up front. We got good seats, but I keep having to walk a mile to come pee. You look like you’re having a good time,” Jaz said, trying to be nosy. But she knew what was up.

“So far I am.”

“You wearing that dress, girl.”

“That’s all I’m wearing,” Tasha said as she came out of the stall. She washed her hands, opened up her purse, and pulled out a toothbrush and toothpaste. Jaz was watching her brush her teeth. Then she put on more perfume and lip gloss.

Jaz was standing there laughing and rubbing her stomach. “Looks like you’re getting into Trae.”

“Is it that obvious?”

“Yup! What is he doing to you?”

“Talking shit and trying to have me all open.”

“I see. Are you through yet? Sounds like the show is getting ready to start. Did you tell Trae we said thanks?” She was holding the door open for Tasha, who was brushing her hair.

“I told him. I’ll call you tomorrow. Love you.”

Jaz smiled as Tash gave her a hug and zoomed out the bath-room.

“I thought I was going to have to come and get you.” Trae stood up as she slid into the booth.

“I ran into Jaz,” she said.

“They straight?”

“Yeah, she told me to tell you thanks for the tickets.” She snuggled up under him, resting her head on his shoulder.

“You know I won our bet, right?”

“What was that?”

“You heard me. Make you come within twenty-four hours. Remember that? It’s done, Tash.” She didn’t say anything. “I’m just asking for a chance. Can’t you at least give me that?” he asked, staring at her.

“A deal’s a deal,” she said, cutting her eyes at the stage. The show was about to start. The comedian Adele Givens was just finishing her routine. She had everybody laughing till it hurt except for Tasha and Trae. They were trying to connect.

Musiq Soulchild was up next. Trae lit a blunt, took a few drags then put it out. He noticed how quiet Tasha was. He looked at her and said, “I don’t know why you’re scared. Faheem done already threatened me. He said that if I don’t put you on top of the world he was going to put a cap in my ass. I told him that’s exactly what I was planning on doing. You heard me?”

“I heard you,” she said.

Musiq laid it down. The entire club was really feeling him. Everybody was all hugged up. The crowd gave him a standing ovation and was calling for an encore. Tash asked to be excused and headed for the ladies’ room again. The club was now well lit as the stage was being set up for Jill Scott.

As she headed back toward the booth, she noticed three females standing in front of Trae. She had no idea what this was all about. When she came up on them, she looked at them and at Trae, who proceeded to grab her by the waist, pulling her onto his lap.

“This is Monique and her crew. You know, the caller you re-fused to deliver my message to,” he reminded her.

Monique and Tasha looked each other up and down. Then Monique said to her friends, “C’mon y’all, that bitch ain’t nobody. She’s just the flavor of the month.”

“Bitch!” Tasha yelled.

“Who you callin’ a bitch? Ho!”

“Ah, shit,” Trae mumbled. Tash went to jump up, but Trae locked his arm around her waist. “Tash!” Trae hollered. “Fuck her! She ain’t nobody.”

Monique turned around and said, “Yeah I said it, bitch. You just the flavor of the month. You ain’t nobody.”

Tasha tried to get up again, but Trae wouldn’t let her.

“Bitch, you’re the fuckin’ nobody!” Tasha yelled. “You was the one calling and begging for him to take you to this show. Bitch, you wish you was me. It’s me who he brought to the show. It’s me who is sitting right here on his dick. I’m the bitch who answered the phone in his crib when you called and he put your dumb ass on speakerphone. So obviously you’re the nobody. If you was somebody you would have hung up on his ass.”

“Tasha!” Trae yelled. She ignored him.

“While you was sitting there on the damn speakerphone, who was he begging to spend the night? Me, ho! I’m Tasha, the same bitch that’s sitting right here on his dick, wearing a three-thousand dollar dress and a fuckin’ diamond on my tongue that he bought. My shoes cost more than all of y’all outfits put together. Who am I? Tasha, the bitch that you say is the flavor of the month. You need to take lessons from this ho, bitch, because it’s all about me. You better recognize. And on a final note I didn’t even give up no pussy.”

On that note, Trae spit out a mouthful of water he had just drunk. He loosened his grip, and Tasha jumped up. She tried to lunge at Monique, but Trae got behind her. He grabbed her by the waist, lifted her up into the air, and took her back to the booth.

“Let me go Trae !” she yelled, trying to break free.

“Yeah, let her go Trae,” screamed Monique.

“Get the fuck away from here!” he yelled at Monique. Spectators were standing around enjoying the action. “Trae let me go!” Tasha said through clenched teeth.

“Tash!” he said, putting his hand under her dress, “Did you forget that you ain’t got nothing on under this short-ass dress? It ain’t that serious, ma. Why you wildin’?”

“Why was she over here in your face Trae?”

“Trying to start some shit. Fuck her Tasha. She ain’t nobody. You sure is pissed the fuck off for somebody who ain’t feelin’ a nigga.”

“Take me home Trae. I’m ready to go.” Without letting her go, he reached over, grabbing her purse and his jacket. By this time security had already come over, just walking around and combing the area.

They walked to the front in silence. He gave the valet his ticket and waited for them to bring the Nav around. He lifted Tasha into the passenger seat before getting in on the driver’s side. She was looking out the window while Trae made calls on his cell phone. As soon as he set it down it rang again.

“What up?” he answered. “No shit! I’m on my way to the crib to change. Give me a couple of hours.” Then after a bit of silence he said, “I don’t give a fuck if it’s five in the morning. Have that nigga there when I get there!” Trae hung up the phone, then turned it off.

They hadn’t exchanged words during the entire ride to Trae’s apartment. As he drove around looking for a parking space, he told her he needed to change clothes before taking her home. He found a spot in the rear of the lot and got out to help her out of the car. When he opened the door, she just sat there.

“Are you getting out or what?” She didn’t answer. He reached over and turned her around to face him. He grabbed both of her legs and, wrapping them around his waist, put both of his hands on her butt and pulled her up close to him.

“I don’t know why you let that bullshit get you all worked up like this. Like you said, it’s all about you. So act like it,” he commanded while caressing her butt and squeezing it.

She remained with her arms folded across her chest and wasn’t saying anything. He started kissing her chin and took the kisses all the way down to her breasts. Not wanting to let her butt go, he used his teeth to slide the cut of the dress over her breasts to expose them. He felt her wrap her legs tighter around his back as he used his tongue ring to play with her nipples. When she began to breathe heavily, he laid her back across the seat, grabbed her legs and put her feet up on the seat. He leaned over and began sucking and kissing on the inside of her thighs. That made her skin tingle. She was now sighing and moaning as he ran his tongue ring up and down the inside of her inner lips. Then he started licking and sucking on her clit.

Tash was going crazy, but he stopped stimulating her clit as he went back to teasing all up and down her inner thighs. “Don’t stop Trae!” she begged, grabbing his head and pulling it back up toward her clit. He then slid his tongue ring over her clit, circling it over and over, then up and down the middle of the opening of her pussy.

“Oh, God!” she kept hollering. He zoned back in on her clit and she grabbed his head tighter, rotating her hips. He went back to kissing and sucking on her thighs.

“Trae!” she yelled, trying to pull his head up toward her pussy, “don’t stop. I was getting ready to cum.” She was trembling and biting down on her lip as Trae kept teasing her to make the or-gasm very intense. She was breathing hard and still had both hands on his head, even though she was trying to sit up.
