on
the
other
hand,
was
the

He
paced
the living
roo

fretting
about
the
future.
Pad

stopped
what
she

doing
for
a

oment
and glared
at

.
“Todd,
would

You’re
driving
m

cra

y
.
You haven’t
had
a
peaceful

o
m
e

in
two
weeks,”
she
scolded.

continued
to
pace
with
his
tail
thu

ing
the
floor
as
he
went.

sewing

She
settled
back

her
stitching
with

her

her

the

closed
the
front
door
behind
her.
She
strode d

front
steps

Wonderful

drifted
to
her
nose—roses,
lilacs,
and
lilies. Paddy
took
a
deep breath and
closed
her

heard

overhead,
and
waved

at
the
gargo

s Kerrigan
had ordered
to
follow
her
ever

she
was
properly
protected.

going.

y through the crowd, stopping

talk
to

Mrs. Pearson,

ho
had the best
vegetables

treat
to
visit
with.
