Adrian did his best, which seemed to satisfy his beloved Drusilla very much.

“We shall marry soon,” he murmured. “After all, I am not a patient man!”

A rustle at the door caught their attention. His mother and her betrothed stood hand in hand, looking curious.

“Adrian, Osman and I shall marry at once,” his mother declared. “I shall leave here shortly. Are you to have an interesting announcement as well?” Lady Brentwood looked from Dru to Adrian with a tender smile.

“You must know we do. We will marry in her village, then have our honeymoon by the coast. I want Dru to see how the water matches her eyes.”

While his mother and Lord Osman retreated to make their plans, Adrian returned his attention to his love, telling her of the delights in store for her.
