He watched her take a drink from the bottle, her throat contracting with her swallow. Duncan wanted to lean forward to feel the movement.
“So,” he continued, “you came out to check on Willingham. Any other reason?”
She sat back in the booth and crossed her legs beneath the table, then folded her arms across her lap. She seemed to be choosing her words carefully. “Well, to be honest, I was curious about you as well. I thought about you after you left. A lot.”

Alex cocked her head, a coy smile tipping up the corner of her lips. “If I need it.”
Another blast of searing heat shot through him at the subtle insinuation that she would be willing to stay somewhere else.
She lifted her chin toward his shirt. “You know, I have a newfound respect for the military. I would absolutely be willing to save a Humvee.”
Duncan swallowed, erection straining hard against the zipper of his jeans.
He was in deep trouble.
But damn, this was going to be fun…

She occasionally takes breaks to feed her animal horde and is trying to control her office-supply addiction, but both tasks are uphill battles. Happily, she is writing full-time and always has several projects in the works. She also dearly loves to hear from readers! So, drop her a line. She’ll respond.
