I glanced back in the fridge. “How about we order in?”

“Yes, that sounds good.” He brushed the hair away from my face and kissed me. “I missed you, Kat.”

“I missed you too, John…so much.”

“I know, Kat, I know,” he replied in a loving voice.

We continued to snuggle.

“You really want to do this?”

“Yes.”

“What about Natalie and the marriage and―”

John held his fingers up to my lips.

“Shh…” he whispered. “Natalie’s done. I’ve been meaning to tell you…”

He paused for a moment and said, “It was always you.”

I smiled again as warm tears came down my cheeks.

“I love you, Katherine. Always have and always will.”

“Hold me,” I whispered, weaving my hands with his and guiding him to the bedroom, where we lay on the bed, molding ourselves together in a passionate embrace.

Before I could close my eyes, he hugged me tighter and whispered, “Never will I let you go again.”

About the Author:

Lisa was born in the U.S. and lives with her adoring husband and two beautiful kids. She has been writing extensively for the past six years. In July 2009 she earned her certificate at the Institute of Children’s Literature. She has a vast array of poetry and adult short stories online and in print. This is Lisa’s first novel.
