“That is the sound of countless dragons heading straight for us,” said Nick. “You see...tonight dragons descend upon the wicked.”

The glass wall behind the golden throne crashed to the ground as a red dragon smashed through it. On its back was Dricos. Vicon stepped back up the stairs and stared blankly at the dragon before he and the six tried to use black wave attacks to injure the beast.

“Fitoro!” yelled Dricos. The red dragon let out a breath of fire directed at the soldiers in black that surrounded the king’s men. Another crash was heard as Ron and his dragon entered the king’s room.

“Fitoro!” yelled Ron. The supreme Reza army Vicon had assembled tried to use their magic against the two dragons but they were ineffective. Within seconds five more dragons came rampaging into the king’s room. All of the dragons knew who the enemy was. In the midst of the chaos that ensued within those seconds the king’s men and their soldiers retrieved their weapons from the ground. They quickly cut the handcuffs off the archers. Tyler ran over towards Thomas. He had a dagger in each hand and sunk them into the heads of the guards who had brought Thomas in. He cut the handcuffs off of Thomas. Thomas grabbed a sword from the dead body of a guard behind him. The rest of the six and the soldiers began to fight the enemy that surrounded them while fire blazed all around them.

Jeffrey stood at the base of the stairs, staring at Vicon and the six. He was ten feet away from his comrades. They were fighting their own battle at the moment. Jeffrey wanted nothing more than to kill those who stood in front of him. While the six were perplexed and attacking the dragons on either side of them, Jeffrey summoned a black wave attack and directed it at Vicon’s face. As the attack flowed through the air, there was a moment of victory for Jeffrey. That moment was crushed as Poloski used his power to levitate the attack upwards.

The six dismissed the threat of the dragons for a moment and focused all of their attacks on Jeffrey. At the same moment Nick stabbed a man in the chest with his sword and pulled it out. He turned around and saw the six directing black wave attacks at Jeffrey simultaneously. Nick hurled his steel short sword and it whipped through the air. Next he put out his hands in an effort to redirect the attacks. Jeffrey placed his hands up to redirect an attack himself.

Two of the attacks were able to be controlled and redirected away from Jeffrey. The rest of the black wave attacks landed their mark. Jeffrey flew backwards from the force of the attacks. A soldier on the outskirts of the circle shot an arrow at Jeffrey. Nick’s sword met its mark and landed in the right side of the chest of one of the twins.

Nick ran towards Jeffrey, who lay on the cold ground with a tiny flicker of life left in his eyes. An arrow stuck out from his neck. Nick kneeled down on the floor and wrapped his hands behind Jeffrey’s head. Nick looked into Jeffrey’s eyes for a moment and watched them as the life was released from them.

Nick looked at the six and was filled with rage. As the fighting continued behind Nick he was without reinforcement. Nick stood up from the lifeless body of his commander and began to walk towards the six. The twin took the blade that had pierced through his chest and pulled it out. Tyler was fighting off three soldiers dual wielding two short swords. As he killed one of the soldiers he saw Nick, unarmed and walking towards the six.

“Nick!” yelled Tyler as he tossed a short sword to Nick, who grabbed it in midair while staring down Vicon. The twins stepped forward. At the same time six more dragons flew into the open window and attacked the soldiers in black.

Fueled by rage, Nick’s ultimate power was within him. The might of the young Paplon boy. The power of Hetha. The intuition and force of supreme Reza. All of it coming together and flowing with one another.

The swiftness and strength of his blade ripped through the twins, causing multiple wounds in split seconds. Their retaliation of sending fire and black wave attacks was dodged by Nick with the fast thinking maneuvers of a Paplon. With his right hand he was slashing at the twin standing at his right. With his left hand he was controlling the entire body of the twin to his left. As Nick raised his left hand the sword the twin carried was raised to his chest and pointed directly at it. Nick flung his left wrist over and over again. The twin stabbed himself over and over again. Nick slowly cut away at the twin on his right. He took his time to kill the twins.

After a few moments the twins lay lifeless in a pool of blood. Nick looked up at the six and saw Poloski’s hands placed on the floor. Nick’s feet trembled. Nick dropped his weapon and aimed his palms at the floor beneath him. A second later a wall of fire protruded from the floor a few feet in front of him. He was able to redirect the attack. As the fire subsided, the remaining members of the six were no longer in front of him. To his right he caught a glimpse of Poloski running through the doorway that lead out of the king’s room.

Nick ran after Pololski while picking up his sword mid stride. He assumed that the rest of the six were heading in the same direction He turned back to his comrades. They had eliminated the vast majority of the enemy with the help of the dragons. Nick turned to his left and saw his mother commanding a dragon to spew ice at the foes beneath its feet. “Mother!” yelled Nick. “Direct an attack just above the head of the king’s men!”

“Lithicos,” said Dricos. A breath of ice was perfectly directed above the heads of the king’s men and their soldiers. The front line of the enemy that was attacking them became frozen solid. A perfect moment to regroup.

“King’s men, with me!” yelled Nick. The king’s men turned and ran towards Nick while the rest of their soldiers continued to fight the next wave of attackers. There were now a total of ten dragons in the king’s room and they were having a feast of Vicon’s soldiers. Nick turned back to Ron who was now deep in the king’s room and yelled, “Ron, take flight and make sure the six don’t escape!”

Nick ran out towards the door on the right with Jacob, Tyler, and Dani following him. They arrived at a hall with multiple doors along it. At the end of the hall there was a large arch that lead to a large room. It was a giant and barren room that was newly constructed. At the end there was no wall, just the outside of Genold City. A giant half circle balcony served as a landing port. Vicon and Poloski sat on top of a large black dragon and smiled at the king’s men as they took flight.

The king’s men sprinted over to the giant balcony as they witnessed the dragon fly away.

Nick closed his eyes. Esork,
I need you now
, thought Nick.
Come find me. Come find me on the east wing of Castle Teon. I know you are around. Come find me.

Ron and his dragon dove from the sky and landed at the port.

“Jacob, let’s go,” said Ron. Jacob ran and hopped on the back of Ron’s dragon. Ron looked up at the night sky and said, “Nick, I think you might be needing this.”

“Esork!” yelled Nick.

Ron took flight with his dragon. Esork flapped his giant white wings and landed on the platform. Nick, Dani, and Tyler got onto Esork and he took flight. Nick directed Esork to fly in the direction Vicon was heading. Ron was directly in front of them, though he had a few hundred yards on them.

After a few moments of flight Nick noticed that Ron’s dragon was flying stationary instead of moving forward. As they got closer he saw that Ron’s dragon was fighting the dragon that the female was riding. As Nick approached fire lit up the night sky. He saw Jacob holding onto Ron and signaling Nick to continue on towards Vicon.

They continued to fly with determination and could only hope for the best for their comrades. Vicon was the real prize. The night was dark a the clouds overhead covered any moonlight. They could not see any sign of Vicon ahead of them. They scanned the horizon in front of them for the black dragon. There was nothing. Vicon was nowhere to be found.

Dani sat on the back end of Esork’s neck with her bow and arrow ready in her hands. There was an unusual sound coming from behind her. She turned around and witnessed the black dragon drop down from clouds above. Dani turned her body around and pulled her bow back while saying, “Nick, behind us.”

The black dragon let out its breath of fire as it got level to Esork. At the same time Dani took the opportunity to release her arrow as she belived she had a good opportunity to shoot. The arrow shot through the air with accelerated speed because they were already flying through the air. The wind took the arrow. Vicon maneuvered his body at the last moment and the arrow sunk into Poloski’s left shoulder.

Nick commanded Esork to dive and they evaded the breath of fire. They held onto Esork and each other tightly as Nick commanded Esork to turn around and attack Vicon’s dragon.

The black dragon launched its massive mouth at Esork. The black dragon faced off against the white dragon hundreds of feet in the air. The dragons were so close to one another that there was no chance to command an ice or fire attack. The dragons clawed and bit at one another. Some attacks landed; others missed. With each blow Esork received the force would almost shake off the king’s men.

Esork dove in to bite the black dragon’s neck. Esork missed as the black dragon pulled upwards. Esork’s momentum pushed him past the black dragon, which enabled the black dragon to have a clean attack. The black dragon dove downwards and clenched its jaw down on Esork. The bite engulfed Esork’s upper left arm, shoulder, and part of his torso.

The black dragon dove downwards, plummeting Esork towards the ground. They were falling sideways while the black dragon was above them. The tip of Vicon’s head could be seen over the black dragon’s head. With his left hand Tyler held onto Nick. With his right hand he grabbed a dagger from his pants, aimed, and flung it at the tip of Vicon’s head. The shot of hitting him was slim. It was on target as it spun through the air. However, a gust of wind changed the course of the dagger at the last moment and flung the dagger sideways.

Esork was getting closer and closer to the ground. Esork was struggling and trying to bite at the black dragon but was unable to reach it. Nick looked at the ground, then back up at the black dragon.

“Fitoro! Fitoro! Fitoro!” yelled Nick.

Esork made the final effort to spew a breath of fire at the black dragon. The majority of the fire did not land on the dragon but a small portion lit up the right side of the black dragon, causing it to release its grip on Esork.

The ground was getting closer and closer as Esork continued to plummet from the sky. Esork made last ditch effort to avoid crashing onto the ground, trying to spread its wings to glide and slow the fall, but his left wing wasn’t extending all the way. The bite from the black dragon had done extensive damage. As a result Esork was able to slow the fall but the extension of only half of his left wing caused Esork to spin out of control in a corkscrew motion.

Nick, Dan, and Tyler held on for dear life. Esork was now adjacent to the ground and no longer ran the risk of plummeting into it. They were still flying and corkscrewing through the air with incredible speed. They flew a mere ten feet above the ground. Dani lost her footing and began to fly backwards while holding onto Tyler. This caused Tyler to fly back off of Esork as well while holding onto Nick. Dani held onto Tyler by his waist as they were both completely off of Esork. Nick held onto Esork’s two giant horns and kept his footing. Tyler suddenly lost his grip in the midst of Esork spinning in the air. Tyler and Dani flew off and landed on the ground.

Esork continued to spin out of control for hundreds of yards before finally crashing onto the ground on its stomach. Nick continued to hold onto Esork until they stopped skidding on the sandy ground.

Nick jumped off and quickly ran over to look at Esork’s face. His eyes blinked and he grunted at Nick. Esork slowly rose to his feet. Esork was battered and bloody from both the attack and the fall.

Within moments Nick heard the flapping of wings behind him. He already knew what was coming.

Vicon commanded his black dragon to land twenty feet in front of Nick. Vicon and Poloski stepped off from the neck of the black dragon. Vicon and Poloski slowly walked towards Nick. Esork started to walk towards the black dragon while gnarling his teeth.

“You have done enough to interrupt our rightful reign over Hentrio,” said Vicon.

“You two will pay for everything that you have done,” said Nick. “It all ends right here and right now.”

“We will settle this as men,” said Poloski. “No dragons. Just skill.”

Nick held his sword by the right side of his torso. Vicon was wielding a spear made of solid steel and gold. Poloski wielded a steel long sword that he held with one hand.

Nick took no time to make his intentions evident. He sprung forward like lightning from the sky. He started to swing at Vicon. Nick was quick and fierce with his strikes. Vicon was quick to block Nick’s attacks with his spear.

Poloski tried to blind side Nick as he was attacking Vicon. As Nick’s blade hit Vicon’s spear he turned and blocked the attack from Poloski at his side. Vicon jabbed his spear at Nick and he easily dodged it by turning his body sideways. Nick retaliated the attack by jumping in the air and coming down with relentless force. Vicon held his spear sideways and blocked the attack but the force that Nick hit him at sent him stumbling backwards.

Nick turned and slashed his blade side to side at Poloski. Poloski struggled to keep up with Nick’s speed. Nick’s sword broke through Poloski’s defense and his blade skimmed Poloski’s face. He began to immediately bleed from the laceration. The dragons met face to face and were attacking each other with claws and their blade like teeth.

Vicon jabbed at Nick once more but Nick evaded the attack by doing a back flip. Nick hurled himself towards Vicon and unleashed a thunderous flurry of attacks. His sword made contact with Vicon’s spear every second. Nick’s sword danced and twirled within the grip of his hand. Vicon was quick to defend himself and Nick was unable to land a successful blow. Nick’s body was stuck and he could not swing his sword. Poloski had ahold on Nick and levitated him off of the ground.
