“Hey, Evan!” Drew said cheerfully. “Long time no see.”

He got closer, and Evan was looking everywhere, at everything and everyone who couldn’t help him. Huge in his mind was that photo Drew had sent, proof of how much Evan had gotten off on Drew’s attention, and of how much Drew still missed him.

Just tell him to go
, Evan thought.
Tell him I’m working and busy. Turn around and walk away
. He suspected it wouldn’t be nearly that easy, though.

“Hey, look,” Drew said, lowering his voice discreetly when they were face-to-face. “I get that your boyfriend doesn’t like me, but
you
still like me, right? We had good times, didn’t we?”

“I can’t do this,” Evan said tensely. “Please leave me alone.”

Drew had something in his hand. It was a phone, Evan saw. Drew pressed the screen a few times, then held it so that Evan could see what was on it. It was a picture of Evan, years younger, naked, with his legs spread for the camera. You could see everything, even the shy embarrassment in Evan’s expression. It was one of the first photographs Drew had ever taken of him, when all of Drew’s warm attention had been the most intoxicating feeling for isolated, abandoned young Evan. That was when Evan had done anything Drew wanted, just to try to convince him to keep sticking around and help Evan feel valued. Evan didn’t expect anyone else to understand what it had been like. Alek and Luka had each other. Brennan had Maggie. Evan had no one. No one but Drew.

Evan bit down hard on his lip, his heart pounding against his ribs. His focus kept sliding off of the phone’s screen, the familiar, usually comforting sounds of the garage behind him only adding to the sense of wrongness.

He needed for Drew to put that phone away before someone saw.

“I love this one the most, I think,” Drew said conspiratorially. “You were always such a sweet kid. I treated you right, didn’t I? We had some good times together, you and me. I guess you saw at the store the other day how your boyfriend, Alek, likes to give me a hard time. Kind of has a mean streak in him, doesn’t he? I hope he doesn’t treat you like that.”

Evan was shaking. He hated how much sense Drew was making, how he was tempting Evan to doubt Alek. He tried to remind himself of what Luka had said, how, at twelve, Brennan had been too young to give consent. It didn’t really work; it just confused Evan, because he still felt grateful to Drew. He wasn’t sure how he would have gotten through his teenage years without the attention Drew had given him; not with Charlie gone so often and no friends or family to rely on. Drew was the only one who’d made Evan feel normal and like he was important to someone.

“After seeing you the other day,” Drew told him, keeping his voice down, turning the phone off. “I really started to miss you, kid, and the good times we used to have. How about we do each other a favor? Hmm?” Drew’s eyebrows rose and he bit his lip eagerly. “Come have some fun with me, right now. It can be goodbye. You’ve got someone else now. Alek. Maybe Luka too. You don’t need me.”

Yearning stirred inside of Evan with Drew’s words. Alek and Luka still didn’t understand what Evan was really like, and the terrible things he’d done and enjoyed. Drew did. He knew everything and he liked Evan anyway, despite all of that. Evan could imagine how disgusted Alek and Luka would be if they knew what Evan had done. The forgiveness and honesty of what Evan had with Drew was a lure, drawing him in where he knew he was safe from judgment or scorn.

“Come on, just hang with me for a little while. It’ll just be between you and me. Our secret. You look a little stressed, Ev. Come blow off some steam. I’ll help you feel better, just like before. Promise.” Drew raised his hand and waved to Mike, standing back by the entrance to the garage. Mike waved back, like he knew Drew from somewhere.

“No one has to know. Not the boyfriend. Nobody but us.”

All of those photos that Drew had of him.... They showed who Evan really was. They were undeniable, damning. They were a weight, crushing Evan, making him feel low and ashamed. Alek and Luka could never see them. They had to stay private. He had been young, needy, and confused. Maybe if he went with Drew, and said this goodbye, this would be the end of it. He could finally move on.

“And you’ll leave me alone, after?” Evan asked, his voice wavering with the degree of his nerves.

“I will leave you alone,” Drew agreed.

“You won’t hurt me?”

Drew smiled. “Have I ever hurt you, Evan?”

“No.”

“Your guy, Alek—he knows me. I know him. Hell, I know what the inside of Alek’s ass feels like gripping my dick. I wouldn’t hurt you when Alek could come after me. I just miss you, kid. Let’s go chill out together. You used to get off on having fun that was totally secret, right? No one knew. Same way here. I bet you get tired of hiding things from people, too. You know you don’t have to hide a thing from me, no matter what it is.”

Evan hesitated, feeling unsure. It would be awful to screw around with Drew when he was in a committed relationship with Alek, Luka, and Brennan, but at the same time, Evan knew he had to do whatever it took to keep the truth about Drew from them. It would permanently change the way they saw Evan and would definitely put Drew in danger. If Evan went along with Drew, it would be done. He could leave it in the past, for good. No more awkwardness with the twins. No more worries.

“My car’s right over there.” Drew pointed at an old Pontiac. Drew slipped the phone into his pocket.

“I don’t know. I’m not sure I should do this. I’m with Alek now.”

“Jeez, look at how nervous you are! We’re friends, aren’t we?”

“Yeah,” Evan said, swallowing the word.

“Damn right, we are. Friends spend time together. You give me a little time for old time’s sake and I’ll give you all the space you need, okay? You keep my secrets and I’ll keep yours. I’m really excited about this, Evan. Come on. No time to waste.”

Drew’s hand was on Evan’s back, then, guiding him forward.

Maybe Mike would notice. Maybe Mike would call around to see why Evan would leave in the middle of a shift. Maybe Mike would call Jimmy.

Heart pounding, barely breathing, Evan let Drew open the passenger door and usher him inside.

Chapter 21
Like Old Times

They didn’t go to a house. Drew took Evan to a building that looked like a warehouse which had been portioned up and divided into rental spaces for various businesses. It was a few turns off the main road, located toward the rear of an industrial park where only about half of the structures were occupied. The rest had For Rent signs on them.

Evan was terrified of what he’d gotten himself into. Maybe he’d made the wrong call in getting in the car with Drew, but now it was too late. Drew had never lied to Evan, so all Evan could do was hope if he did what Drew wanted—kept his secrets for him—he’d follow through and help Evan keep Alek and Luka from learning the truth. What Evan and Drew did together, years ago, was always completely separate from the rest of Evan’s life with Charlie. This could be the same way. No one else had to know.

Drew parked the car near a metal door. The parking lot was vacant. There was no one around.

“Where are we?”

“My playground,” Drew grinned. “I was hoping you’d come along, so I got ready for ya, just in case I got lucky.”

He unlocked the door with a key and flicked a light switch inside the space. Shivering, Evan tried to look around for landmarks, signs, anything.

“Okay, in we go.”

He ushered Evan forward again, shutting the door behind them once they were inside.

It was a warehouse. There was a concrete slab floor and corrugated metal walls. A space heater had been plugged in and positioned near what looked like a movie set. There was a bed and lamps, cameras on tripods and what looked like a shower with a slanted bench under it along with some other things.

Part of Evan recoiled from the thought of going over there. Going over there would only make more secrets but, at the same time, he remembered how it was always better to have Drew around to rely on than to be alone. Drew cared. He was attentive. Walking away would only mean being alone again, knowing no one else would ever understand the way that Drew did.

He let Drew lead him into the space.

“Good, come on in here, Evan. Stand right there.” Drew left him in front of one of the cameras, between the bed and the shower, then went to turn the cameras on, one by one.

“Now, I know you’re nervous,” Drew said. “But I only brought you here instead of my house because if this is a one-time thing, I’d feel more comfortable if you didn’t know where I lived. No offense, but your boyfriend is kind of a dick.” Drew pulled his shirt off and tossed that aside too, after turning on the space heater.

“You called Charlie,” Evan blurted.

“That’s right. So, that’s another reason I’m not trying to hurt you, here, Ev. He knows we just talked yesterday, and we talked about
you
. Your dad’s the first person the cops would question if anything happened to you. Your co-workers saw you leave with me. Think about it. You’re safe.”

Evan ran it through his head, trying to find a way it didn’t make sense, but it did. Drew wouldn’t hurt him if so many people knew Evan was probably with him.

“Now, if you’re ready,” Drew said. “Tell me how old you are.”

“I’m eighteen.”

Evan’s arms were folded, and he was shivering.

“Are you a virgin?”

“No.”

“You’ve been fucked in the ass, and fucked someone else in the ass?”

“Yes.”

“Did you like it?”

Face heating despite his chill, Evan murmured, “Yes.”

The warehouse space was vast and shadowy beyond the cozy center where Drew had set things up. It made Evan want to stay right where he was, in the light, in Drew’s focus, where things made more sense.

“I would love to fuck you in the ass,” Drew said. “But I’d like you to trust me more, first. How about we play around a little, and I’ll let you decide if you’re okay with me fucking you. How’s that sound?”

“O-okay.”

“Good. Now, can you take your clothes off for me?”

He hesitated, but didn’t want to upset Drew, not if he was being so agreeable so far. And Drew had already seen him naked plenty of times before. Once more was probably not a big deal. So, Evan unzipped his coveralls. Underneath, he was just wearing an undershirt and boxers. Letting the coveralls fall to the floor, Evan stepped out of them, and his boots. Next he took off his socks. Then, his undershirt. Left only in his boxers, Evan shivered uncomfortably.

“It’s just me, Ev. No reason to be shy. Go on,” Drew coaxed.

The heat was starting to kick in, at least, warming the area enough that his shivering lessened. Hooking his thumbs in the waistband, he hitched the boxers down. They slid down his legs and he stepped out.

“Gorgeous,” Drew said softly, checking the camera’s angle and focus. Evan fought the urge to cover himself. “That’s perfect. I swear, your body was made to be photographed.”

“Okay, Evan,” Drew said. “First, we’re going to make sure you’re nice and cleaned out before we play. You’re probably familiar with this process. Hell, maybe your boyfriend helps you do it! Come on over to the shower and we’ll get started.”

Drew walked around the camera, approaching Evan. With his hand on Evan’s shoulder, Drew guided him to the slanted bench under the shower-head. By the foot of the bench was a grate that must have acted as the drain. There were a couple of bags hanging from a stand nearby, Evan noticed, as well as a clamped hose.

He groaned.

Drew chuckled. “Let’s make you comfortable. Go on and lie down on the bench. On your back. That’s it.”

The surface was cold and uncomfortable.

“Scoot on down so your ass is hanging over the edge. Curl your legs back to your chest.”

It all felt like it was happening so fast, but Evan had no idea how to slow things down. It was so much easier to follow instructions than to second-guess what was happening.

Evan scooted lower. He gripped the bench’s sides, trying to slow his breathing and keep his head together. If he blocked it out, maybe it would be over soon.

“Chilly?” Drew chuckled, fondling Evan’s balls in a warm hand. They’d drawn up tight to his body, and Drew pulled gently on them. With his other hand, he rubbed along Evan’s arm like he was trying to warm him up. “The heaters will warm things up fast, okay?”

The intimate touching acted like an anchor, pinning Evan down, making him instinctively not want to move. It was just like before, when he first began spending time with Drew. Staying quiet and cooperating always made more sense than any other option. In a way, the brush of Drew’s thumb over Evan’s scrotum connected him that much more quickly with what was familiar. The queasy doubts faded back.

Folding Evan’s balls up in a hand, Drew asked, “Better?”

“Yeah,” Evan answered shortly.

Drew moved away and Evan saw him bring one of the camera’s closer, so that it was only a few feet from the bottom of the table, pointed right at his ass.

When Drew shifted the bags closer and checked the flow of liquid from the attached hose, Evan moaned in dread. The other end of the hose, fitted with an insertion tube, was brought to Evan’s bottom. A thick finger, wet with lube, poked into him, drawing a startled grunt.

“Mmm, that’s nice. Not as tight as you used to be, but that’s okay. We can still have fun.” The finger twisted around, rubbing at him, then was replaced with the end of the tube. Drew fed three inches of it into Evan’s anus and Evan was gasping. “Easy there....”

The water slowly started to fill up his lower bowel. It was lukewarm, at least, but the building pressure in his gut was uncomfortable; cramping quickly had Evan wanting to curl up. His belly felt swollen as he was filled with the full bag’s worth of liquid.

Leaning in close, Drew smoothed back Evan’s hair and asked quietly, “Has Alek ever taken care of you like this, or does he make you do it yourself?”

Evan grunted. He clenched as the hose was pulled out, replaced again with the fat finger.
