He is also a Nebula Award-winner, and has won other major awards in the United States, France, Japan, Poland, Croatia, and Spain, and has been shortlisted for major awards in England, Australia, and Italy. He is, according to

magazine, the all-time leading award winner, living or dead, for short science fiction. He is the author of sixty-eight novels (nine of them for Pyr), more than 250 short stories, and two screenplays, and has edited forty anthologies. He is the guest of honor at the 2012 World Science Fiction Convention, to be held in Chicago.
