His phone rang.

“Ok, thankyou. Look after her for me. Stay alert. Chambers’ has set his sights on her. He just played his hand clearly in front of me. He wants her.”

“Ok boss. What about you?”
“I’ll be fine.”

“You need back-up too? Want me to meet you with some of the others?”
“No, I want you at the house Todd. Keep her safe for me please.”
“You got it.”
“Thank you.”

“What are you going to do?”

“I need to go get some things.”

Damien knew he could trust Todd. He had saved Damien’s life on more than one occasion, putting his own on the line doing so.

He drove for thirty or so minutes in the late morning traffic. Damien still found it hard to believe that Marc had lost control so dramatically. Over the years, he had often appeared unstable, had several times tried to ruin Damien’s business, in the hope of destroying his reputation but he had failed to do so. He had never issued personal threats as such, although maybe that was because, for years, Damien had refused to get close to anyone. He had closed himself off from developing any feelings for a woman, protecting himself from that, knowing he could not commit to anyone, knowing he could not stand to lose anyone and unwilling to take the risk.

And then Tara had come along; had thrust into his world, with her pale fragile beauty and her fiery nature, and he had become lost in her, drowning in desire and something much deeper.

Arriving at a storage facility he pulled out a pass and a small key from the passenger side glove compartment, got out of the car and opened the boot, pulling out a large empty canvas bag. Heading straight to the entrance, he went through and down a long corridor. Reaching his lock-up he went straight to a large black case on the floor. Using the small key he had brought with him he opened the box and found what he had gone there for; an unlicensed hand gun and two semi automatics; all  unregistered and unused before. They had been acquired on the black market, should such an occasion like this arise. It was an insurance he had never thought he would use. Now he was glad to have taken precautions. They were untraceable to him and that’s how he wanted it. He didn’t want to face a court case for the action he was going to take. That Chambers had once shot and killed innocent bystanders in the line of duty when they had been serving together was enough in itself for Damien to pass a death sentence on him. At the time Chambers had somehow managed to wriggle out of the charge against him, but Damien had never forgotten or forgiven him for it.

Left behind at the house, Tara was unnerved by the reality of the situation. Damien’s men were there with guns.

“It’s going to be ok Tara. We’re here. Nothing is going to happen to you. You’re safe,” Todd told her. But it was Damien’s safety which was worrying her; she felt sick at the thought of the danger he was in and the harm that could come to him. Where was he? Was he out there on his own?

“What about Damien?”

Todd laughed. “He can look after himself, don’t worry about him.”

The house was full of men whose appearance would have terrified her in other circumstances; their appearance and arsenal of weapons a formidable sight. She couldn’t help but imagine a similar force of men coming for her; Chamber’s men.

How the hell could things escalate to such extremes as this? Caught in the crossfire, she felt helpless, responsible, and unable to do anything to help Damien.

“Where is Damien?”

“He’s OK.”

“But where is he? What’s he going to do?”

“He will be back soon. Everything will be ok.”

She knew the man wasn’t going to say any more. She didn’t know what to do with herself; there was nothing she could do.

Chapter Sixteen

In the lockup Damien put the guns in the bag and quickly left. He called Todd, to check on things.

“All quiet?”
“So far.”

“Ok.”

Thirty minutes later, Damien was close to the office. He called Brenton inside the office.

“I’m outside.”
“You want me to bring anyone?”
“No. Just you.”

He needed personnel, but he also wanted to keep things low key, not march into Chamber’s house with an army. The less people involved in this the better. He didn’t want to implicate too many in his nefarious actions, should the shit hit the fan. He was using those he most trusted, those who had fought alongside him in the Special Forces.

Stopping kerbside, he saw Brenton emerge from the office building, dressed casually in a suit and looking to anyone noticing him like your average office worker, except for the purposeful stride, the confident bearing, and an ultra-fit physique beneath the suit.

Brenton greeted Damien, and got in the car.

“We’re going to go back to my house; wait it out until dark.”

“No problem.”

Before arriving they stopped at an Italian restaurant, going in and ordering up some take-out for the team at the house. It was going to be a long twenty-four hours and they would need refuelling.
As they drove up the driveway of his house, he spotted two of his team guarding the front. Fortunately, being further out of central D.C. his driveway was long and his neighbours far enough away not to see what was going on.

Brenton said he was happy to stay outside and do a reconnaissance of the perimeter. Damien went in and found Tara in the day room with two of the team.
“Come into the study with me Tara.”

She followed him into the smaller room opposite. Closing the door behind them, Damien pulled her to him.

“Are you Ok?”

“Yes, thank you.”

“It won’t be for long. Believe me; this will be over very, very soon.”
He took hold of her shoulders and pushed her back from him so he could look into her face, to reassure her. She looked paler than ever.

“Damien, I’m worried about you.”
He hated this, hated the thought of someone worrying about his safety.

“Don’t be. I know how to look after myself. You know that. This is what I do.”

His hand traced the fine bone of her cheek. His fingers went to her lips, brushing them. He leant down to her and kissed her lips, softly, slowly; his hands entwining in her long hair. He brought a hand to the nape of her neck, holding her by it possessively as his kiss deepened.
Despite the circumstances, and maybe because of them, Tara felt his erection hard between her legs.

“Look at what you do to me; every time, Tara.”

“We can’t. Your men are just outside.”

“I know.”

His hands went to either side of her hips and he lifted her up, placing her on the desk. He was desperate to taste her, inhale her, but he was conscious that he would smell of her sex in front of his men. He wanted to keep that scent to himself, just for him.

He pulled her panties down, and pushed her legs apart. He unzipped his trousers and pushed up her dress, looking at her, naked from the waist down. They didn’t speak as he lifted her up off the desk, holding her by her buttocks as he pushed her against the wall and entered her.

He fucked her with a hunger, a desperate mating of pure carnality, going as deep as he could inside her, unrelenting in his thrusts, her back hitting the wall as he pounded into her, unable to stop. His growls of release were loud as he came, hot and searing inside of her.

“Come upstairs, lay down with me.”

She looked at him, perplexed. How could he be so calm when someone was trying to kill her?

“My men are here. No-one is going to get to you. They’re not going to get through my men, or me. You’re safe. I won’t let anything happen to you. Believe me.”

Being with her now had given him a calmness, and a new idea. Chambers would be expecting him today, or tonight. He was going to let Chambers use up some of his valuable adrenaline expecting Damien imminently. Damien would get Chambers, but not tonight; tomorrow when he was weaker. Damien had played the long game many a time, and he would wait twenty four hours before striking. Psychological games were a major part of any battle.

“Come.”

He led her by the hand out into the lobby.

“Go upstairs and wait for me. I’ll just be a moment.”

At the top of the landing she didn’t know which room was his bedroom, there were lots of doors. She looked for the biggest room and saw a suit hanging on the outside of a closet. She assumed it was his.

Downstairs, Damien went outside to tell Brenton the plan, seeing if Brenton agreed with him. In the Special Forces they made decisions as a group; it was the best way to ensure everyone was on-board and all options had been considered. He knew from experience that arrogance in believing your way was the only way could lead to some bad situations that could easily have been avoided.
“Let’s play the slow game? Give himself time to wear himself out. Leave him hanging awhile.”
“Sure, why not!”

Brenton grinned, enjoying the psychological aspect. “I’ll stay out here a while.”

“Ok, thanks Brenton. I appreciate it. I’ll get Todd to call some more of the guys over, to relieve you and the others later. He’ll sort out the shifts for them so we’re covered. Stay overnight, make yourself at home.”

Damien went inside and repeated the plan to Todd, who seemed happy to go along with it too, then he ran up the stairs.

He found Tara in his bedroom, standing by the window looking out.
“Tara. Don’t do that!”
“What?”
He pulled her away from the window quickly. “Never ...” He stopped himself. He didn’t want to scare her, but a trained sniper could take her out from a mile away, without even being seen; it was probably unlikely but it paid to be cautious. He pulled the curtains.

“It’s ok, come to bed. You and I get to spend a little more time together today, and that is a very pleasurable prospect.”

“If only the circumstances weren’t so awful. I’m so sorry Damien.”
“Tara, it’s not your fault. Although you seem to bring a whole heap of trouble wherever you go. You can’t seem to help yourself!” He was laughing heartily; in such a situation of adversity, it amused him. “You know I’m going to have to chastise you over this don’t you?”

“Yes.” She smiled back at him. With him, she felt safe, protected. His confidence and certainty rubbing off on her. She admired his resilience and strength of character, the dignity with which he conducted himself, the air of distinct authority he had.

“So, how am I to deal out your punishment Tara?” His hand rested on his chin, as though considering his options, though they both knew full well what he would do.

She couldn’t help but look at the front of his trousers. She wanted to see if he was hard already.

“You have caused me so much trouble, from the day I met you. I should spank you so hard. In fact..” He walked over to the wooden chair by the window and pulled it to the middle of the room, placing it down.
“Come here.”

As she reached him he pulled her down on top of him on the chair.

“I
have
to spank you for this, you know that don’t you?”

With fluid movement he lifted her up and pushed her legs behind her so that she was laying across his lap, her legs falling to the floor as he held onto her midsection.

He lifted her dress up over her buttocks, pulled down her panties, and as she braced herself, knowing what was to come, he began to spank her. She could feel his erection against her breasts as she lay across his lap receiving the slaps.

“You’re going to have to do a lot of things for me Tara, to make up for all the trouble you’re causing me...It’s going to be a very long night for you.”

The spanking went on for some time and

her fingers went to her mouth, sucking on them, enthralled in the sensations he was sending through her.

“Tara, there’s something else I would much prefer you to suck other than your fingers.”

Pushing her gently off his lap, her knees met the floor and he twisted her around so that she was between his thighs.

“Take my cock out and suck it.”

She undid his trousers and eased his huge solid cock out carefully, so large and heavy in her hands. She started to suck it, taking it all into her mouth as she listened to his moans.

“That’s beautiful. You’re mouth is perfect.”

She loved to suck him, to satisfy him, to give him what he needed as she listened to his words.

“Suck my balls Tara, while you stroke my cock.”

She did so softly at first, listening to his long guttural moans.
“Suck them. That’s it. Take them all love.”

His voice was deep and thick, expressing his pleasure at the sublime sensation of her lips as they encased his balls and her hand stroked his cock, going faster now as she began to get carried away, consuming him, stimulating him beyond reason, and his hand went to her head to push her down, encourage her to transgress to his deepest darkest needs.
“God woman, you’re divine, but you’re going to have to stop before it’s too late. I need to be inside you.”
He took hold of her chin and slowly she released her mouth.
“You beautiful woman.” He picked her up from the floor, lifted her and carried her to the bed, laying her down on it. “I need you naked.”

He raised her dress up over her hips and breasts, up over her head and pulled it off. He undid her bra and dropped it to the floor. Quickly he removed his clothes, and climbed on top of her, entering her immediately. He lifted her legs up high, giving himself further access to go as deep into her as he could, her legs held up by his muscular arms and shoulders.

He took extraordinary time with her, ever so slowly easing his cock in and out of her, his eyes never loosing contact with hers, losing himself in her. He made love to her for a long time, slowing himself down when he nearly went too far, easing the intensity when he thought he would come, wanting to make it last, to savour every moment, and though he took her over the edge, making her come explosively, he made sure he held back to prolong their pleasure. He cherished her breasts, tenderly caressing them, rubbing his fingers sensitively across her nipples as he kissed her long and deep, his cock buried inside of her.

She stared at the sight of his broad chest as he leaned back up and looked down at her beneath him, her hands running from his waist up across his chest, a sheen of sweat glistening on it, her fingers spread across his pectoral muscles, holding onto him as he filled her completely.
