“Tessa! Come with us!” Jaxon screams to her but she doesn't move. She looks at me with fear in her eyes. I am not sure if that is fear
of
me or
for
me or even for herself.

The other demons, one that looks strangely like a cactus, come running towards me holding fire balls or ice shards which are aimed right at me.

“Tess! Come with me! Please!”

“I- I can't leave him.” She whispers. The demon holding the ice shards, throws one at me.
I close my eyes tight and grip on to Jaxon's arm while the other two hold on to me. Probably to protect me. I open an eye and deflate.

We land at the underground port and there is no submarine to be seen.

              “What the hell?!” I screech.

“Cally. We need to go!” Caroline exclaims as she yanks me to the edge of the port. I give her a questioning glance.

“We have to swim Titch.” Jaxon states and dives into the water. I hesitate before jumping in after him, Caroline and Mike jumping in behind me. The salty water instantly makes my stomach wound burn but I push the pain aside.

The four of us swim as hard and fast as we can. I mentally thank my dad for hiring a professional trainer to teach me to swim when I was younger.

My arms start to ache after a while and I can see that I am starting to trail behind everyone else. How the hell I am not dying from not holding my breath, I have no idea. Jaxon notices I am slowing down and comes back for me. He grabs my arm and pulls me up. He gestures to my wings and makes a flapping motion. I open my wings and so does he. I flap my wings as hard as I can, straining from being under water. My wings manage to speed me up and Caroline grabs on to my hand while we follow Mike and Jaxon; whose wings look
so
creepy right now, and come to the surface.

We are in the middle of nowhere.

“Now what?” I breathe out. I think I held my breath for at least an hour. Or it feels that way at least. My lungs are praising me right now. I hear a faint hum coming from somewhere and it gets louder and closer. Oh no, we are going to get caught.

“Can you fly?” Caroline asks me.

“No. My wings are too heavy from the water.” I say back to her. They are that heavy that I can't even tuck them away. The are just floating aimlessly behind me. The hum gets closer and closer until I see that it isn't a hum at all. It is the speedboat.

“GET ON!” White witch yells at us. We paddle over to the boat and one by one, we climb on, Jaxon helps me since my wings weigh me down so much. I collapse onto the floor of the boat, panting while white witch speeds away. “I can take you as far as the shore but I cannot take you directly to Suffolk. Too many demons and because of where we are, it will take too long. You will have to teleport.” I nod at her words.

“Thank you for helping us Kyla.” Caroline says with a small smile. Kyla nods her head and takes us to the closest little island while Jaxon tries to dry my wings so I can tuck them away. His being like leather, dry quicker than mine.

We pile off the boat when Kyla gets us to the shore and we each thank her immensely. We wait for her to disappear before everyone turns to me. I know what they are thinking. They want me to teleport. I don't think I have the energy.

“Your wings are dry Titch.” Jaxon tells me as if that makes a difference. “We need to leave here. This is merpeople territory.” I gulp and start shaking.

“I don't know if I can.” I say, wringing out my ponytail.

“You can and you will. You did it from the castle to the port. You can do this Titch.” He comes over to me and takes my face in his hands. “We
all
believe in you.”

I look away from him, pushing his hands away from me. I think that shocks him a bit. I hold out my hands and Mike takes one, while Caroline takes the other. Jaxon looks pissed at the fact another guy is holding my hand. I am not even in the mood to smile at his jealousy.

“Waist.” I tell him and his eyes light up. He holds onto my waist and I focus every last bit of energy I have on getting us back home. I think of my mother's face and my kitchen and then my garden before a gasp makes me reopen my eyes. We are standing in my garden, with mum standing directly in front of us, gaping at us in shock. I give her a curt smile before I black out.

I feel so comfortable. I feel silky material wrapped around my body. I don't feel like I am wearing tight clothes anymore. I feel free. I groan in happiness and turn around, hitting something hard that makes an
umph
sound. My eyes spring open. I am in my bed. Next to Jaxon. Wearing... a t-shirt that clearly isn't mine. Well, at least I am wearing clothes, I guess. I sit up and look around my room. My wet and dirty clothes are on the floor beside the bed with the Converse I was wearing and my boots I thought Edward had, are in the bathroom. What the hell happened? I turn around to face the grinning incubus.

“What's going on?” I blink at him.

“Nothing, what's going on with you?” I pull a face at him and then notice that he is topless. Oh no.

“Did we have sex?” I shriek.

“Well I certainly hope not young lady. Especially in my house.” My mum answers for Jaxon as she walks into the room holding tray which holds two cups of teas and a smoothie. YES!! I so need one of those.

“Well, what happened then?” I ask as I take a large sip from my smoothie. Mmm. Mango, peach orange and pineapple. Mum knows me so well.

“You blacked out Cally. You teleported yourself and three others here all by yourself. You finally tapped into the demon teleportation part of you. You just used a bit too much energy is all. Luckily we have amazing donors here that were more than happy to help you out with you gaining more energy.” Mum smiles at me. She looks so proud.

“I teleported three others?” My memory is fuzzy. “Who? And who helped me? And didn't I use teleportation with Jaxon before?”

“Caroline, myself and Mike. And Lorraine, Lara and Betty were more than willing to give you a bit of your energy back.” Jaxon says as he plays with a small feather from the pillow behind him. “Apparently, I helped you use your angel teleportation back when it was you and I on the run from Levi.”

“Where's Tes- Oh... I remember now.” I croak when everything floods back to me. I place the glass I am holding on the bedside table and place my head in my hands. “She wouldn't come back mum. She refused. I mind spoke to her like three or four times and she didn't even care. She chose her demon dad who clearly hates her over me. It hurts so bad.” I feel a tear slip down my cheek and mum wraps me in her arms.

Jaxon excuses himself and I think I hear him mention something about finding Aeron. I don't look up as he leaves, not even to peek at that gorgeous body of his. Mum holds me for a long time while I compose myself. She comforts me, tells me it is going to be okay, tells me that she loves me and that I still have a big group of people that love me. Then she says something that really makes me want to die.

“I don't actually mind if you and Jaxon have sex darling. As long as you are safe.” My body seizes up at her words and I practically jump away from her.

“What?!” I all but shriek. “Why are you telling me this? And why now?”

“Because you love this boy and anyone can feel the tension coming off of you and well, you are obviously still a vi-”

“Don't say it. Just. Do. Not. Say. It.” I hold my hands over my ears like a child. Mum laughs and pulls my arms down.

“Oh stop it Calissa. Don't be childish.” She holds my hands in hers. “What are you worried about Cally?”

“Have you got ten years?” I huff out a pained laugh.

“Actually, yes, I have.” Mum smiles at me. I inhale a ragged breath and then exhale.

“Fine, I am worried about Tessa. I am worried about dying. Although we managed to take Levi's powers from him, I am still worried that it isn't over. I am worried that I actually killed Crillin, evil or not, I still didn't mean to kill him. And this thing with Jaxon and I? Well...” I pause, reluctant to let mum in on our intimate issues.

              “Well?”

“I am worried we may kill each other if we decide to um, you know.” I cheeks flame and I pull my duvet up to my chin. My mum giggles.

“Believe me, you won't kill each other.”

“How do you know?” I ask her with a frown.

“I have been there remember?” I rack my brain to try and think of what she means and then I
do
remember. She slept with Edward. Cringe. She is succubus like me, and Edward is an incubus.

“So we can't kill each other? But our powers work on each other.”

“No,” she shakes her head. “Your powers just intensify the intimacy. You can't kill him and he can't kill you. I promise.” Hope sours through my body. Will Jaxon believe me if I tell him what my mum has just said? I hope so because I miss kissing him. “As for Tessa, she will come around. She stayed with Levi because he is her father. Now that he is human, she has no choice but to bring him back to the surface and take him home. He will have to live life as a human again, just like he did when he hid his Leviathan self from Lorraine before they separated. Crillin was going to die either way Cally. I would have killed him even if you didn't. I know it feels weird but be thankful you haven't drained him of his life because he would literally haunt you for years.” I nod in understanding. “Harris has to return back to his home town soon, so why don't you come and say goodbye.” She stands up and makes her way over to the door.

“Mum?” She turns to me. “Thank you. For protecting me.”

“Always baby.” She gives me a wink and a warm smile before leaving me alone in my room. She is right, Levi will have to be Paul again. It is against all laws, angelic and demonic, for a human to live amongst them. It is also against the law for humans to be killed by other demons or angels too.

Even though Vepar is evil, I don't think he would kill Levi, regardless if he is in power or not anymore. They were close friends. I think.

I shake off any thoughts I have of Tessa, Vepar, Levi and Crillin and get out of bed before undressing and stepping into the shower.

I throw on a black vest top and some denim shorts and then I chuck on a pair of black strappy sandals and braid my hair to the side. I don't bother with any make up. I am grateful that my wrist no longer hurts. It only took five days. At least that is better than how long it takes for an ordinary girl. I make my way downstairs and walk into the kitchen where everyone seems to be.

Harris is standing in the centre with his two children by his side. When the youngest fairy sees me, she flutters her little wings that I didn't even know she had and hovers over to me.

“Cally, I have my wings!” Sophia squeaks when she reaches me. “I can fly like you and Lara now!” I look over at Lara and she is grinning.

“Wow Sophia that is amazing.”

“I got them because it is my birthday today and that is why we are going home. My nanny has presents waiting for me. Oh and guess what! I am four today!” I raise my eyebrows and smile at her as her little tinted green wings flutter when she gets excited.

“Well happy birthday honey. Come give me a hug.” I crouch down and she falls into my open arms. Little things like this make me miss my little sister and I really hope that her and dad are able to come home soon. I release Sophia and she skips off and jumps into Lara's arms. I watch as they hug and I hear Lara tell her that she is going to miss her. Is Lara not going with them? Would it be selfish for me to say that I hope Lara stays behind? She's around my age and maybe we could actually be friends?
See! You don't need Tessa!
Yeah, shut up brain.

I walk further into the kitchen and stand next to Harris. He turns to face me. I give him a warm smile and then he pulls me into a tight hug.

“Thank you for your help.” I say into his shoulder. He squeezes me slightly tighter before releasing me completely.

“It was my pleasure. Never hesitate to call us fairies if you need us again.” He kisses both of my cheeks and then with his children, he stands by the door and waves before vanishing into thin air. I look over at Lara who is left here with tears in her eyes. I walk up to her and wrap an arm around her dainty shoulder. She leans into me.

“Right, I know that the fairies have gone now, but we must leave too. I never thanked you for taking him down for me Calissa.” Dimi says as she walks over to me. Rhys in tow frowning as if he has just lost his puppy. “We shall meet again dear angel.” Dimi bows her head to me like I am some kind of royalty or something and then Rhys steps up to me. He doesn't smile. I think he reserves said smiles for Tessa.

“She will be back. I can feel it. When she does, call me.” He hands me a business card and nods at me before stepping away. They say goodbye to everyone and then leave through the front door. It isn't long until I hear the start of an engine and then a car speeding off up the road.

So now it is me, Lara, mum and a bunch of witches. And Jaxon and Aeron too though they are in the garden. Mike went home to see his parents since he has been away for a while. Mum informed me that Christina left with her daughter Alexia earlier that morning, while I was sleeping and that Betty, Ali and Nathaniel will be staying with us for a few more days. Or at least until they know what is going on with Tessa since she is one of their own.

I grab two cans of lemonade from the fridge and a carton of juice and head out to the garden when Lara excuses herself to go to her temporary room to ring her friends from school, Lee and Stacie.

Jaxon is playing catch with Aeron and it is kind of cute to watch. Aeron waddles as fast as he can to chase after the ball, once he has it, he runs straight back to Jaxon, stands half a foot a way from him and throws the ball. Jaxon catches it. The smile on his face is contagious. There is a light in his green eyes that is a big give away that he is happy. Right now, he is ecstatic. I sit on the swing and place the cold drinks on the floor. I pull my legs up onto the swing with me and rock back and forth until I have a set motion and speed.

It is August. The sun is up high in the sky; blazing down on my large garden. There isn't a cloud in sight for miles and it feels as if it is at least twenty eight degrees out here right now. As Tessa would say, I can feel a tan coming on.

“Is that for me?” Jaxon points to the drink on the floor as he walks over, Aeron still playing with the ball behind him. I nod and he bends down and picks up an unopened can. I watch as he opens it and takes a swig. He seriously looks like he should be in the Diet Coke adverts. He looks
that
good. His white v-neck clings to his body like a second skin and his muscular arms bulge underneath the short sleeves. I want to lick those arms. Oh God. What is wrong with me?
You really wanna ask that question?
Oh shut it, you.

His Adam's apple bobs up and down with every sip he takes and his eyes are closed as if he is savouring the sweet lemony fizzy drink.

“Ahh, thank you.” I smile up at him. “So, you alright?” He asks carefully.

“Yeah, I am good. Having fun?” I incline my head towards where he and Aeron were playing. He chuckles and it makes my heart skip a beat.

“Yeah, I don't do this a lot with him.” He looks down at his black army styled boots. He wears them a lot, he must love those boots like I love my own.

“Where is Caroline?” I ask, suddenly remembering that we brought her back with us.

“Sleeping. I think she needs to feed but she won't admit it.” His shoulders lift up slightly and his mouth turns in at the side.

“Oh okay. If there is anything I can do, let me know.” I pinch my lips together in a stiff smile and then bend down to pick up my drink. “How did I gain energy without touching anyone?.”

“Your defences were down. It was like, whoever was in the same room as you would be drained. Your mum and I had to make sure to pull everyone else out of the room if we saw that you were taking too much.” I blink.

“That's so weird. So, erm, I spoke to my mum.” He raises an eyebrow. I look over the garden to check on Aeron who is picking daisies from the grass. “You know, about us.” I can feel my cheeks flame.

“Us huh? What about us?” Humour sparks in his eyes and that signature smirk slides up his gorgeous face. I want to smack it off. Then kiss it but shush.

“Um...” I look away and he coughs on the sip of drink he just took.

“You spoke to your mum about me and you having
sex
?” I sink lower into the swing and bury my face.

“Yes. I was upset. It's not like Tessa is here for me to talk to and Lara is nice and all but I barely know her.” I tell him and it comes out muffled.

“What were you talking to her about, exactly?”

“I was scared that it would kill one of us. You stormed off in such a panic the other day and it freaked me out.”

“Oh Titch.” He sighs and comes to sit next to me but my legs are sprawled out across the swing. He lifts my legs and places them on his lap when he sits down. “Why didn't you speak to
me
about it?”

“Did you not just hear me? You freaked out. Then when we were in the tunnels and you got all 'we can't' on me. So I was upset and went to someone I knew had experience with this kind of thing.”
