Run

I did not know where I was going once I had taken control of the boat. I picked a bearing and stuck to it hoping to hit some form of land. I turned the lights of the boat off as army helicopters flew overhead in the direction of the island. After about three hours I spotted some land. I docked the boat at a harbour. I soon discovered that the land I was on was the west of Ireland. The prison must have been somewhere in the Atlantic.

I spent the next several months keeping a low profile. Each day I grew stronger or discovered a new ability. I had to work to control each individually. Not only could I shift but I could conjure fire, had unnatural speed and strength, I could control objects with my mind, I could astral project and even turn invisible, a gift from Shadow I imagined.

Although I kept a low profile the government continued to hunt for me, led by the new Warden of Demon Rock. On a few different occasions, I encountered resistance and had to fight or flee to avoid capture. I was now the most valuable weapon to the army they had ever seen and I knew they would not stop until they had me again.

Demon Rock was soon brought under control once more. There was no way off the island once I had taken the boat. After a day of rioting, some of the inmates surrendered to the army, others were killed as a full assault broke out on the island. Order was eventually restored. The serum having being destroyed in the helicopter crash meant that they would need to start their research again from scratch. If the government ever got their hands on me again I would bring their research back up to speed and I couldn’t have that. The experiments will start up once more on Demon Rock but until then I will continue to run and survive. I looked down at a photo of my wife Holly, the photograph and her memory kept me going between towns and villages as I continue to move and hide in plain sight with my shifts… like a shadow.
