Writing a novel can seem like a solitary endeavor. In truth, you're never alone. I thank the Lord for giving me a wife able to endure the distant looks absent moods that come over me as the flow of writing a story sweeps me along. Without her unconditional love none of my writing would be possible. Moreover, her strength of character and sharp intellect supplies the inspiration behind many of my female characters.

I want to also thank my friend Shelly for pouring through an early and rough draft of
DEAD BEEF,
back when it went by the title of
Switchout
. Her enthusiasm and encouragement drove me to revise this novel and keep believing in it in spite of all the rejected query letters. Were it not for her insisting I had a great story, I probably would not have taken the self-publishing route.
