“Please…” I manage, and he’s squatting in front of me, crutches leaning on either side of me against the gate, broken leg in front the other one supporting his entire weight, like a Russian dancer. Instinctually my hands move to help him but he’s in total control and I put them back. One leg draped over his shoulder trailing kisses and bites up the inside my thigh he arrives right where I’m on fire for him moving my thong aside he finally buries his face between my legs, taking my breath away. This man has amazing physical strength to hold himself in this position, and I’m in awe of that strength. Circling my clit with his tongue expertly as I gasp and white-knuckle the gate, he brings me pretty close to passing out from the extreme pleasure of it all and suddenly the cool weather is more than welcome, burning as I am under his touch, and oh so close to climax. I jerk against the gate, rattling it and thrust myself further into Evan’s face with not one thought of knocking him off of his vicariously balanced foot. I am so close to losing it when suddenly he pulls away and stands on that one good foot, I instantly mourn the absence of his mouth on me.

The world around us doesn’t exist when we we’re like this together. Everything around us falls away and it’s just the two of us, no garden, no house, and no staff possibly watching, no ocean or gate, just Evan and I. Taking my face in his hands he bends slightly, forcing our eyes together, when he has my eyes locked with his he lets go and unbuckles his belt, taking his stone-hard cock from his pants and without losing them he returned between my legs, sliding it along my folds without entering where I was literally dying to have him buried deep.

“You want this inside you baby?” he says, holding my hips with both hands for balance. I nod two quick nods in the affirmative and he enters me with such force that the gate rattles loudly. My feet are momentarily lifted off the ground from the force of his thrust. I suck in a breath and hold on tight as he slams into me over and over, groaning with every thrust, gate clanging as he covers my mouth with his, and I can taste myself on him, salty like the ocean. “I have no control with you Mia, I want to take my time with you but once I’m inside of you…the fucking animal in me takes over.” He claims my mouth so we are joined together as much as two people can physically can be. I’m getting so damn close and Evan senses it, he digs his fingers under my ass and tilts me just slightly until he’s repeatedly hitting that sweet spot inside of me that bursts open, spilling out my orgasm in fits of spasms as I hold my breath, tightening around him until he comes too with a loud groan that echoes through the garden, followed by my gasping as I gulp in air and we return slowly to reality together.

“You can let go now,” He whispers in my ear, a drop of sweat running down the side of his face and onto mine.

“Oh..” I hadn’t realized I still had a death grip on the iron bars of the gate, and when I let go my hands tingle with the return of blood flow.

“I wanted to tie you to this gate, blindfolded, when I first saw you in that hospital room, dressed in those fuck-me high-heeled boots and that tiny skirt, it was literally the first thought I had,” he growled. What the hell?

“Well that’s funny, the first thought I had of you when you woke up was ‘what a psycho’!!” Evan throws his head back and laughs, really laughs, I’ve never seen him let loose quite  that way. His smile lights up his entire face, tiny crow’s feet appear on the outside of his eyes and his green eyes with their blue ring flash their incredible hue. It fills me up with more love than I ever thought was possible. “Sometimes that smart mouth of yours goes on hiatus and I miss it!”

“Same goes for that smile of yours,” I say. He hugs me tight against him and gives me a chaste kiss on the forehead before sliding out of me and pulling my dress back down to a much more descent length. He tucks his shirt back into his pants and grabs his crutches, leaning heavily on them. “You really shouldn’t be messing around off your crutches,” I remind him.

“Are you complaining Ms. Galloway?” he says, raising his eyebrows in mock question. “Of course not Mr. Lawson, but as a nurse I’m just informing you that standing on one foot and exerting that kind of energy isn’t good for your casted leg.”

“Well then, tell the nurse that she’s fired and just be my girlfriend, who is fully satisfied with that stunning performance of strength and pleasure.” Wow, this guy could be cocky, but that was Evan, self-assured, dominant and proud, with every right to be.

“All right then, nurse Mia is officially gone, girlfriend Mia is absolutely satisfied.” I wink at him and he smiles at me, I link my arm around his elbow and we walk slowly back to the house.

Chapter 31

“Make You Feel my Love” by Adele

I head to my room while Evan returns to his office to finish working, convinced that he has fucked the worry out of me. I guess I’m on my own again. On my night table is a note propped against my iPad, on a purple sheet of notepaper, and of course I knew who it was from. It read
Listen to me.
The iPad is set to one single song by Adele, “Make You Feel My Love”. I press play and lay down on my back, staring at the canopy of gauze over the bed. As Adele’s lyrics wash over me, tears fill my eyes, spilling over, and running down my face and into my ears where they pool. Looking over to my bear propped against the pillows of the bed I grab her up, hugging her to my chest while I listen. God, this man knows how to love me, he doesn’t have to make me feel his love, I already do. I love him with every breath I take. I will never be able to absorb enough of him into my system, especially if he continues to do sweet things like this. And why? Why does he feel the need to convince me of his love? Maybe it’s the short time we’ve been together that brings out insecurity in him, it’s really only been a little more than a month. The only thing I’m insecure about is the possibility of Evan losing his damned mind and disappearing from my life; it’s a thought that haunts me always. I have no idea how long I lay there listening to that song on repeat, I must have fallen to sleep. When I open my eyes it’s dark outside my window, winter is approaching quickly and the days are shorter now. I’m now positioned in the bed correctly, head on my pillow with a throw over my legs. Still holding the teddy bear, I feel a little like a child that’s been tucked in for an afternoon nap. I hold up that bear and examine her more closely, her diamond eyes staring back at me causing me to sit up in the bed suddenly in realization.  Shit, are those…. couldn’t be…but I think they are. Real diamonds, as in a couple carats each and the 2-inch wide collar around her neck is covered with tiny diamonds. Could those be? I turn her over to see if a tag or brand is sewn or attached to a seam somewhere. Nope, nothing. Gears start turning, my curiosity peaked; how can I find out where this thing came from and if those are real diamonds? What am I going to do if I find out they are, this is seriously too much, thousands of dollars’ worth of diamonds in a teddy bear? Why on earth would Evan give such an extravagant gift?

Oh well hell, why do I continue to bother trying to figure him out?  I’ll Google it, that’s how I investigate everything else, so why not this? After a while I come across a company that sells custom made bears that resemble mine, and they offer several gem stones for eyes, but not diamonds. Well that’s probably the place, from the look of the other merchandise it’s obvious they’re capable of making anything happen for a price. I still can’t figure out why a bear, am I trying to read too much into it? I set her on the bed so her diamond eyes are staring at the ceiling and decide to name her Diamond; every animal deserves a name right? I wonder what the bear giver is up to right now, he must have checked on me earlier and covered me up. I can’t believe that didn’t wake me, I must have been really tired.  My thoughts drift to the garden earlier today, I can still feel the cold gate on my bare ass and Evan’s hot body pressed up against mine, another erotic memory to add to my quickly developing collection. In just a few short weeks Evan has taken my body places I could never have imagined existed. How could this happen to me, Mia Galloway, formerly resigned to becoming an old cat lady? Only this intricate string of events could have led me to this place. In love with this man who is manically hard working, obsessively organized and neat, more beautiful than a Greek god, desperately lacking in manners, cocky beyond belief, generous to a fault, injured and vulnerable, and in possession of more money than he knows what to do with. He’s an audacious lover capable of fully satisfying needs I didn’t even know I had and loving…limitlessly loving.

Lost in my thoughts, I don’t hear him approaching until he’s at the threshold of my open door. “Well good morning beautiful, how was your nap?”

“Mmm, good, I can’t believe you covered me up, I don’t even remember you coming in.” A strange look crosses his face, confusion, fear, concern, or maybe a combination of all three.

“I didn’t come in here, you must have covered yourself,” He says as if he’s trying to convince himself more than me.

“No…I don’t think so, this blanket wasn’t on the bed and I fell asleep on the edge, listening to your song. Thank you by the way, it was beautiful,” I smile, but his mind is elsewhere.

“What’s the matter?”

“I want to know who was in here, touching you. I haven’t given anyone authorization to enter your room today.” He’s scowling now, a deep crease across his forehead, and angry, a muscle in his jaw twitching. The dominant control freak in him is taking the lead now. “Come with me,” he says in a tone that means business, no messing around,. I climb off the bed and follow him through the house to his office where he opens a door I hadn’t noticed before. It’s totally camouflaged and appears to be just a part of the wood wall behind his desk. I curiously glance around as we pass through into a room filled with monitors, I mean like ridiculously filled with monitors. Each one focuses on a different room of the house, a different area,
every
room, even the bathrooms! The room is dim, lighted only by the blue hue of the screens; a chair is positioned front and center for whoever mans this obsessive security system.

“What…what is this?” I say softly, with awe.

“I told you I have very good security, I want to look back at the video and see who was in that room with you,” he says, while moving to grab a huge tablet-like remote of some kind and sitting down in the captain’s seat with the grace of a man not hampered by crutches. I quietly move to his side as he maneuvers the video to different monitors until my room comes into view on the much larger center screen. There I am, lying on the bed in the position I remember being in before falling asleep. Suddenly a small figure appears in the room, it’s impossible to see the face, but the body appears to be female, dressed in all black with a black hoodie pulled up and close around her face.

I inhaled a quick, panicked breath and Evan stiffens in the seat next to me. I rest my hand on the tightly wound muscles of his shoulder and lean forward to see better as he forwards through the video.  She stands next to me for what seems like forever, before disappearing for a moment and returning with the blanket I had been covered with. Gently she moves my legs onto the bed, tucking the pillow under my head, and covering me up before stepping back two or three steps. That’s when I see it, at the same time as Evan; a knife glimmers in her left hand, a
huge
knife!! What the fuck was she doing with that? And who the fuck
was
she?!

Evan roars Mr. Saint’s name and launches himself out of the chair moving at a pace I’m sure no person ever has while on crutches. I follow on his heels, keeping quiet, he’s angry and scared enough for the both of us, and he did tell me to let him worry about everything right? Yea, like
that
was ever going to happen now, some insane woman was in the house, in my room, touching me and she had a fucking hunting knife in her hand! I’ll be worrying in the near future, a lot…. no doubt about that! Mr. Saint comes rushing down the stairs, meeting us in the foyer with a panicked look on his face.

“What is it Sir?”

“Someone was in my fucking house that’s what!!” he yells, his voice echoing off the walls of the nearly empty space.

“Sir?” Mr. Saint questions.

“Fuck Saint, you’re supposed to be in charge of security, how the fuck did someone get in here, a woman was in Mia’s room, touching her, with a KNIFE!”

For the first time Mr. Saint looks shaken, flustered and maybe embarrassed. So he’s head of security huh? I want to tell him he’s doing a bang up job of that, but Evan is on the edge of his sanity and that would surely send him over. Evan is nearly nose-to-nose with the stuffy Mr. Saint, every muscle in his body shaking, surely having an adrenaline rush. I’m a little scared he might actually hurt him; he could clock him with a crutch easily, or worse. I’ve never seen any person as angry as Evan in this moment.

“Mr. Lawson I had no idea we had an intruder, all alarms are set, a guard is at the front gate and Marco was on monitoring!”

“Marco? Where the hell is he, certainly not in the fucking monitoring room I’ll tell you that! I’m gonna fucking kill him when I get my hands on him!”

Shit, maybe this is what everyone around Evan is used to but not me, I need to get him calmed down before he blows that brain tumor all over the foyer. “Um…hey…Evan?”

He swings around wildly, eyes flashing a bit of psycho; I get a glimpse of a man I don’t know, at all. “I think we should all calm down just a little bit, and by ‘we’ I mean you.” Choking out those few words is extremely difficult, I feel like I’m on foreign territory, dealing with an enemy instead of my protector, he’s scaring me, and I think he realizes it, hearing how hard it is for me to speak and watching me take a step or two away from him.

Transforming before my eyes, Evan’s face changes from warrior/terrorist to warm and comforting. The tables turned now, he speaks to me like someone talking a jumper off a ledge.

“Baby I’m so sorry, I don’t mean to frighten you, please don’t shrink away from me, come here.”

Hesitantly I moved to him, heart pounding. The Evan I know would never hurt me, but the man I just witnessed was not
my
Evan. Wrapping his arm around me and pulling me tight against his side, he puts on a show of calm control but I can feel his body vibrating against mine, he’s still crazy mad and I imagine volatile. He kisses me on the top of my head and turns back to Mr. Saint, who is standing with his mouth hanging open, beads of sweat across his tan, bald head.

“Find. Marco. Put this place on high alert, nobody in, nobody out, I want someone walking the perimeter of the property, no make that two people, and lock it up,” Evan speaks through clenched teeth, holding it together will everything he has.

“Yes sir,” is all I hear, and Mr. Saint is gone. “I need to view the video some more, come with me, I don’t want you out of my sight.”

“Ok.” I agree, although I’m not thrilled about the idea of watching any more of that video, it freaks me out, and Evan’s reaction freaks me out even more. But crossing him right now isn’t an option and frankly I’m kind of afraid to be alone anyway. Back in the secret monitoring room, we go through the rest of the video, following the dark figure through the house but never able to actually see where she enters and exits. She knows the floor plan of the house, no way could she have eluded the cameras the way she did without that knowledge.

“Fuck! I can’t see where she came from or where the hell she got out. Who would want to do this, and why did she have that knife if she wasn’t going to use it?”

“Ah…maybe she hadn’t planned on using it on me?” I don’t have any enemies, other than the insane men who tortured me so long ago, I’ve never met a person I didn’t instantly get along with. Surely nobody was after me. Evan however was another story; I don’t think I’ve met anybody who has truly liked him yet. I put some space between us again, leaning with my butt propped against a small desk to Evan’s side facing the monitor wall.

“You’re right, she could have been searching for me before she found you by accident,” he says, voice laden with guilt while maneuvering the pictures around, attempting to get just the right angle to study her movements.

“It could be a small man you know, not a woman,” I offer, because I didn’t think it was smart to rule anybody out at this point. “

Mmm, no, it’s a woman, see her hands, and the way she moves, I’m sure it’s a woman.” The memory of the woman outside Dominus in the parking lot flashes across my mind. “Evan….” I say..

“Yea.” he answers, without looking at me but with no response he looks up. “God Mia, what is it, you’re white as a sheet!” He starts to get up but I push off and go to him first. “Could it be…maybe…. the woman from the parking lot?” Pulling me into his lap, he flips a switch and shuts all of the screens off.

“I’m so sorry baby, you’re scared and I’m not helping you.” He sets the control pad aside and wraps me in a tight embrace; I’m shaking, hard. I guess this thing has me more rattled then I realized, any form of violent attack, even if just threatened automatically brings me back to that tiny house where I’m chained to the ceiling, bleeding and horrified. After years of therapy I’ve been able to calm myself in stressful situations, but not this time, and before I know it I’ve broken down and started bawling into his shoulder, grabbing at him like a life raft in the middle of the ocean.

“Shhh, shhh, honey I’m right here, and I won’t leave your side until we find this woman, never, not for one single second. I’ll get her, whoever she is, don’t you spend one more second thinking about her, please don’t cry baby.” I know he’s trying to comfort me but I’m not sure it’s even plausible right now. The past couple of days have been weird and stressful, and having a woman tucking me into bed while holding a hunting knife is the last straw.

“I want to go home,” I repeat over and over, as my mind shuts down and those five words are the only thing I can verbalize. He continues to rub my back, up and down my spine with one hand smoothing my hair away from my face and the other shushing me again and again. I’m in a tunnel, unable to focus on my environment, it’s a coping mechanism, and I know of it, but only once has my body needed to use it, ten years ago. Evan is speaking to someone, I can’t make out the words and then I surrender my consciousness and darkness closes in, thank you God for that.
