Erik looked at Jack.

Tell me what the guy looked like
again.

Suit
and tie kind of guy. A shiny gold tooth. Scar on his neck. That

s all I remember.

How
was she?

Erik asked.

Who?

Your
sister-in-law. How was she?

Come
on
…”

Answer
me,

Erik said.

Willy turned.

I

ll
get the car.

No,
you stand here,

Erik said.

Listen to Jack

s answer.

Good,

Jack said.

Okay. It was good.

Just
good? That

s an insult to
her.

Erik showed Jack a fist and Jack

s face went white. He nodded and
turned his head.

She was
the best. She took it all in. She held it deep in her mouth. She turned her
head and made it feel like

ah, goddamn

it was just
amazing. Every single time.

Erik felt the instant tension in
the garage and he enjoyed it. Everyone should suffer. That was the only way
things felt right.

Jack,
get the car,

Erik said.

I want to talk to Willy alone.

Willy tossed Jack the keys and Jack
hurried away. Erik glanced over his shoulder and spotted Kaity with her arms
crossed. Gaige stood next to her and shook his head.

Fuck you
, Erik thought.
Fuck
all of you.

Anything
else happen at those auctions?

Erik asked.

No.
I didn

t even know about
Jack.

I
appreciate your help with Kaity

s
car. I

ll pay you soon, is
that okay?

Sure,

Willy said.

Take your time.

Sorry
your ex is a whore.

I
knew it the whole time,

Willy said.

That

s how I met her. I was a concert
and we were all high as fuck. I woke up to someone sucking me off. It was her.
She

s pretty damn good at
it, so I ended up marrying her. My mistake.

Erik laughed to himself and walked out
of the garage toward Kaity. She stared at him, refusing to back down.

Everything
good?

Gaige asked.

Give
us a minute?

Erik asked.

Yeah,
bro.

Gaige walked away and Erik was
alone with Kaity.

You
don

t have to do this,

Kaity whispered.

It

s
not fair.

Nobody
knows what fair is,

Erik
said.

The amount of danger
right now
…”

I
know,

Kaity said.

You

re better off where you want to
be. On the road running from a man who can

t
get to you.

Kaity touched Erik

s arm.

I feel safe with you, Erik. That

s why I told you everything.

Erik backed up. He shook his head.

Just

don

t.

Erik heard the sound of Kaity

s car starting. He turned and
saw the ass end of the car appear as Jack backed it down to the front. The car
suddenly stopped and Gaige looked at Erik, confused. Erik took one step and the
car exploded.

The booming thunder and flames shot
everywhere. Gaige dropped to his stomach and Erik rushed backwards until he
crashed into Kaity. She cried out and fell to her ass. Erik couldn

t take his eyes off the scene.
The fire. The destruction. The sound of Willy

s
screams as he ran to check on his cousin.

Erik turned and looked down at
Kaity.

Don

t get up. Don

t fucking move.

Erik ran. He stopped at Gaige to
help him up and they both ran to the car. The destruction was impressive. The
windows were busted. The roof of the car opened and peeled back. And then in
the driver

s seat was the
charred remains of Jack, already melting into the steering wheel.

Holy
fuck,

Gaige said.

Willy dropped to his knees and
touched the door of the car. Then he screamed and fell back, his hands black
and instantly burned.

Erik grabbed the back of Willy

s collar and pulled him away.

Come
on, man,

Erik yelled.

You

ll end up dead, too.

My
cousin! He was like my brother!

Christ,

Gaige said as he pulled out his
cell.

I have to call this
in.

You
know who did this, right?

Erik asked.

Gaige froze and swallowed hard. He
turned his head and looked in the direction of Kaity. Erik did, too. That bomb
was meant for Kaity. Whoever was doing this shit knew everything about the MC.
Someone was spying on Back Down Devil. And someone wanted to kill Kaity. To
hurt Erik, again.

Erik dragged Willy to the front of
the garage and forced him to stand. His legs were wide and wobbly. Tears
streamed down his face, collecting grease, turning black.

I
wasn

t mad at him,

Willy said.

I knew my ex-wife was a whore.

You
need to go somewhere safe,

Erik said.

This
…”

Willy collapsed to the ground
again. Erik shook his head and went to Kaity. He put his hand out and Kaity
took it. He lifted her and pulled her close.

Fuck,

he said.

What
was that?

That
was for you,

Erik said.

What?

Erik grabbed Kaity by the face.

This is serious, Kaity. Very
serious. Whoever is coming for the club just tried to kill you. You were
supposed to be the one in that car. Not Jack.

Kaity felt very faint and started
to fall. Erik caught her and lifted her as her lips quivered.

You

re safe, babe,

Erik said. He put his hand in
her hair and forced her to look at him.

You

re safe with me. I swear. I

ll never let anyone hurt you.

Erik didn

t need to say anything else. Enough had been
implied. Kaity wasn

t going
anywhere whether she wanted to or not. And for a second, Erik was happy that
bomb had gone off. He couldn

t
have let her go; it would have driven him insane.

Bro,

Gaige said,

we have to go. Meeting. There

s information, man. This is

this is serious.

Erik looked over his shoulder at
Gaige. Behind Gaige, Willy sat against a car, sobbing. Next to them was Kaity's
car in flames with Jack dead in the front seat.

This is serious?

No fucking shit.

twenty.

Kaity held Erik tight the entire
ride back to the clubhouse. She was shaking with fear. She had come close to
dying many times already in her life

because of Brad and either his potentially violent hands or the situations he pushed
her into. Each time Brad forced her to take on another assignment she knew
there was danger involved. There had been many times when she faced the end of
a gun or a knife or watched illegal activities happen. But it began to seem
normal to her. Until today. Seeing this bombing struck her deep inside. Someone
had blatantly tried to kill her to piss Erik off. Whoever was doing this made
two huge mistakes. They failed at killing Shay. And now they failed at killing
Kaity. But because of their mistakes, Erik's scars haunt him everyday and Jack,
the mechanic, was dead.

When they arrived at the clubhouse,
it was chaos. There were motorcycles everywhere and a lot of activity going on.

Shay and Jace were outside,
smoking. They threw their smokes to the ground and ran to Gaige. They were all
talking. Nate held the door open for Erik and Kaity. Nate touched Kaity

s arm and asked,

Is she okay?

She

s fine,

Erik replied.

She
wasn

t in the car. Or near
it.

Fuck,

Nate said. He looked at Kaity.

Come inside. It

s safe here.

Kaity knew it was safe in the
clubhouse, but she wasn't sure how welcome she really was or how long she would
be welcome there.

At the bar, it seemed the entire
group of guys waited for a drink. Miller, Blaine, and Griffin all screamed for
faster service. Erik stayed with Kaity, holding her wrist at first but
eventually sliding down and taking her hand. When Kaity felt Erik

s fingers interlock with hers
she felt a lot of emotions. She felt comforted. She felt safe. It made her
think of when Erik held her hands over her head as he fucked her. It turned her
on. Her mind spun. Her heart raced. The MC was moving fast now and Kaity knew
something big was going to happen.

Meeting,

Miller boomed at Erik.

Got
it,

Erik said.

I need to make sure Kaity is
safe first.

Erik walked Kaity to the end of the
hall and when they made the turn, he stopped, pulled, and then pushed Kaity
against a wall. She hit with a thud and cringed.

Erik stared daggers at her.

The seconds ticked by, Kaity
wondering just what was going to happen. She never meant to say anything to
Erik that would make him not trust her. The truth was that, yes, she had been a
rat. She worked for a detective who had been working her illegally. At the end
of it all, Kaity only had regret, pain, and the nightmares. The police force
barely did anything to honor Brad when he was killed and Kaity was simply paid
to go the hell away and stay away. Only Kaity knew the truth and she kept that
close. If she was revealed as the one who took out Brad, she would never see
light of day again.

When Erik moved at her, Kaity
flinched. But then Erik

s
hands held her face. His body pressed against hers.

You
think I would hit you?

he
asked.

No.
I don

t know. You

re so angry, Erik.

That

s just me,

he said.

Get used to it.

He kissed Kaity, stealing her
breath and thoughts. His tongue was delicious and commanding. His hands reached
down and hurried to open Kaity

s
pants. When the kiss broke for a second, Kaity let out a much needed groan.

What
the hell are we doing?

she
asked.

I

m going to fuck you against this
wall,

Erik said.

What
if someone sees?

Do
you really care?

Kaity shook her head and put her
hand to Erik

s zipper on
his jeans.

No. I don

t give a fuck anymore. I just
want you, Erik. I want you to believe that.

Just
stop talking and let me fuck you.

Erik moved Kaity

s hand out of the way. He
unzipped himself and Kaity looked down to watch. His hand momentarily was gone
and then Erik revealed himself. Long, thick,
hard
. She bit her lip,
remembering that she had this fantasy. To have Erik hold her against a wall and
fuck her. And it was going to happen.

Erik kissed her neck and then put
his lips to her ears.

Pants,
panties. Drop them now.

Kaity wiggled her pants and panties
down to her ankles. She was able to spread her legs just enough, for now. She
started to try and step out of her clothing when Erik grabbed her by the waist
and slammed her against the wall again.

She cried out and then smiled.

It felt good to be like this.
Surrounded by danger.

Erik pulled a condom from one of
his pockets and readied himself. He put his lips back to Kaity

s mouth and both hands to her
waist. He slid down and around to her ass, lifting her against his cock. Kaity
moaned with Erik

s tongue
in her mouth. He pressed gently for a second and then thrust hard.

He sank deep into her body. The
pleasure was instant and Kaity kicked her left foot hard, taking her shoe off,
but allowing her pants and panties to come off that leg, too. She wrapped her
legs around Erik

s body,
pants dangling from her right leg.

Erik thrust hard at her, and with
each thrust, Kaity

s body
hit the wall. Over and over. The thudding was like thunder and she couldn

t help but wonder who heard it.
Erik

s hands were fierce as
they held her ass. Kaity locked her ankles and thrust at Erik, wanting more of
him. There was no more to give though and soon Kaity found herself on the brink
of climax. Her hair danced all over her face, leaving her a mess of pleasure.
She looked to her left and saw Blaine standing there in awe. He nodded and
walked away. For some reason the sight of that turned Kaity on even more. She groaned
and pulled at Erik with her feet.

He moved harder and faster. He had
his lips to her neck and when he opened his mouth and hissed, his teeth grazed
her neck. Kaity

s toes
curled and she closed her eyes as Erik thrust one last time, grunting and releasing.
Kaity lost her breath for a few seconds and it only returned just in time to
have Erik

s mouth against
hers. They kissed for another minute or so, Kaity

s
legs open, her ankles still locked around his body, Erik still inside her. It
was definitely one of the hottest moments of Kaity

s life.

When Erik pulled away he gently lowered
Kaity back to her feet. He quickly zipped up his jeans and stared at her.

You
better get in the room,

he
said.

I don

t fucking share.

Are
you implying that I

m
yours?

Kaity asked.

Erik took Kaity by the hand.

You

ve been mine from the second you got on the back of
my ride, babe. Never forget that. Everything I do and everything I say is to
protect you.

With that said, Erik walked away.

Kaity stood half naked for a few
seconds before finally grabbing her pants and panties and pulling them up just
her right leg. She hobbled her way to Erik

s
room. When she closed the door, she let out a long breath. She spotted the
bathroom and decided to take a shower. Her body was on fire though so Kaity was
prepared for a cold shower if she needed it to calm her body down.

However, something told Kaity she
wouldn't be able to calm down. Because it wasn't just her body on fire now, it
was her heart, too.
