“I’m sorry to have disturbed you, Nurse Ay-lee,” he replied carefully. Her name was a traditional Celtic one, as were many names in this neighborhood, but it sounded strange to his mountain ears.

She leaned against the wall, folded her arms across her chest, and asked, “How are your plans for the roof garden coming along?”

He couldn’t help being distracted and smiling at her. “Most of the planning is done. I hope to start buying the lumber soon.”

“Are you ready to start driving in our city traffic?”

“Maybe not. Andreas is going to take me out at night at first until I learn my way around town.”

“Very sensible.”

Finally he remembered his manners and asked, “How has your day been, Ay-lee?”

They talked for a little while and then she collected a laptop bag, locked the First Aid room, and pressed the button for the elevator. He didn’t know which floor her apartment was on, but many of the single managers had apartments on level eight, so he guessed it was likely there, among them. This secure elevator didn’t have a system of lights for floor numbers to tell watchers where it was stopping for privacy reasons.
I’ve was so very lucky that Harry Harrison brought me here. I’m safe, cared for, and I’ve found worthwhile work to do, a friend, and a woman to love. Everything a man could ever hope for.

Only a few minutes after Eilidh left Andreas swiped open the glass doors and entered from the mall. “I’ve ordered dinner from Sam’s Steakhouse for us all. I thought we could eat in the mall itself. Are you good with that?”

“Sure.”

Lewis followed Andreas back out into the mall, and they leaned on the railing looking down into the mall. Most of the stores were closed and locked up. There was a steady stream of people walking past them to the restaurants on this level and the cinema, but the lower levels were almost empty now. Lewis relaxed and watched the mall empty out, until the lower levels were completely quiet, and the only people were up here on the fourth level. By the time he saw Dakota enter from the parking lot he was relaxed, at peace, yet eager to enjoy this special date with her and Andreas.

“Perfect timing. I was just about to text you and tell you your meal was ready,” said the server to Andreas.

Lewis stood back with Dakota as Andreas collected the food, then they took the glass-walled elevator down to the food court and sat at a table to eat. As always, Lewis tipped his head back and looked up to the glass dome. The sky was dark but it was so light in the mall he couldn’t see any stars. However, just knowing the sky was there made him breathe easier. Besides, later tonight they’d all be up on the roof together.

When they were all sipping their sodas at the end of the meal Andreas said, “Now Dakota, tell us everything that happened at the center. Every single thought you had, everything you saw, everything.”

Lewis knew that Andreas repeating himself like that meant he was truly serious about his request for information. After all, she’d already given them both a thumbnail sketch of the meeting.

Fortunately she didn’t seem to mind, and she did as Andreas had asked, walking them through the building from the front door to the dining room and back again, via Hamilton’s office.

“Did you see any stairs?” he asked.

“No, I didn’t. Why do you ask?”

“My room was on the third floor, and you were taken through what seemed to you to be most of the first floor, yet you didn’t pass the stairs. My guess would be they’re behind one of those doors with the keypads on it.”

“That’s perfectly believable with dementia patients. No responsible caregiver would want them wandering around unescorted. But it works for kidnap victims as well, of course.”

When Dakota put her drink down on the table Lewis picked up her hand, twining his fingers with hers and gently stroking her palm and her wrist. He wanted her so much. He knew he couldn’t rush her, but sitting and waiting patiently was damn hard to do.

The conversation slowly wound down until even Andreas was satisfied that Dakota was safe. “Come up to the roof with us now,” said Andreas.

“More measuring and drawing?” she teased.

“Actually, yes. I’ve sketched out part of the running track but I wondered if the chicanes were too close together for a human runner. Not that they’d be going really fast of course.”

Dakota laughed. “All right. Let’s go run.”

He’d really much rather fuck than run, but at least she’d agreed to come up to the roof.

First he got both Andreas and Dakota to run in and out of the chicanes and around the S bends, and he was pleased to see their bodies coped with the fast changes of direction. “That’s great. I wanted something that was a bit of a challenge, but not too hard. People need to be able to exercise properly but not to be put off or worried that they might fall.”

“No. I’d say you’ve gotten it right. Wolves in particular are competitive but quite fit. They’ll like the challenge and rise to it,” said Andreas.

Lewis smiled.
Good. Now we will move to the tent.

“Let’s go over here now,” said Andreas.

Yes!

“What is this, an exercise in seeing if we’ve walked over every inch of the roof?” But Lewis knew she wasn’t really complaining. It was just that she couldn’t see the tent. And really that was more proof that he’d picked the right place to build his house. If a trained security guard hadn’t worked out that the wall was not at the end of the roof, an ordinary person was unlikely to notice.

When they walked around the edge of the wall and Dakota saw the tent she stopped. “That’s very well hidden. I didn’t realize there was this much space between the wall and the edge of the roof until we were almost here. It’s what, ten feet wide and maybe thirty feet long? That is very cunning indeed.”

“It’s where I’m going to build my house,” explained Lewis reveling in the happy smile on her face.

“Meanwhile the tent is where we’re going to fuck you. Both of us. If that’s what you want. It is what you want isn’t it, Dakota?” asked Andreas.

Chapter Five

“Yes.” Dakota spoke very softly.

All day long she’d been fighting to subdue her desire for these men. Her main professional challenge was dealing with Jackson Hamilton and all her thoughts and attention had to be on him. But underneath, her emotions and desires were bound up completely in this relationship with these two men. Dakota had known for years about werewolf mating habits. Hell, she’d been working for a werewolf pack for over a year now and had nothing but respect for the way Cadfael Hanson had built on the ideas and innovation of his predecessor to make Hanson Mall bigger and better than ever. A safe and growing source of employment opportunities and income for the pack. And incidentally, a way for them to meet and get accustomed to working with human women so that maybe more of them could find their mates.

Several of the male werewolves had even invited her out from time to time, but she’d never been interested in any of them in a permanent way until now. She’d always been attracted to Andreas, but until Lewis had arrived here, she’d been convinced he was married to his fitness center. He certainly seemed to spend all day, every day there and she’d been very surprised at the way he’d left the business to date her. And Quintana had told her how he’d taken her out for coffee to get her advice about the clothing line he planned to add of exercise wear for men and women.

But Lewis had been the catalyst. He was so sweet, so sensitive, so genuinely nice, and yet underneath it all he had endless courage. The type of courage to take him across the country into the unknown, and to enable him to escape from captivity when he was alone, friendless, and helpless. She thought that together, Andreas and Lewis were an absolutely unbeatable team. Now it was time for her to decide if they were the right men for her. She was ready for the challenge.

Andreas led the way to the tent and Lewis was right behind her. She sensed the leashed tension in them both. It was good that they were as nervous and excited about taking this step as she was.

Dakota ducked and crawled in the opening, sliding to the back of the space to allow both men to fit inside as well. It wasn’t a big tent but she supposed they knew it’d sleep three, even though neither of them was small. The base was thickly covered with blankets and there was a pile of pillows as well. “You’ve gone to a lot of effort to make it ready,” she said.

“I wanted our first time to be special,” Andreas said rather huskily.

It might be their first time but she’d already had a spectacular climax from them. Although maybe to a man oral didn’t count as sex? Still an orgasm was an orgasm and she’d definitely liked the one they’d given her.

“Can we undress you?” asked Lewis.

“How about I undress you instead?”

Andreas flopped down on his back. “Whatever you want.”

Lewis copied him and she wiggled between them, pushing their legs to make space for herself between their bodies. Andreas was still wearing his fitness center polo shirt with the Hanson Mall logo on the pocket. She pulled it up over his head then dropped it against the wall of the tent before turning to Lewis. He wore a simple white T-shirt, which she pulled off as easily as she had Andreas’s.

Next she crawled down to their feet, removing Andreas’s gym shoes and Lewis’s work boots. As she stared at both pairs of footwear she said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you wear anything other than boots, Lewis, and as for you Andreas, you’re almost always in your fitness center uniform.”

“I have a closet full of clothing, but you’re right. Since I’m mostly at the gym that’s mostly what I wear.”

“I’m the opposite. Since I ran away from the well-being center in wolf form I’ve only gradually been buying clothing. Boots work for almost every situation, so that’s what I have.”

“You’re only an inch shorter than me and a couple of pounds lighter. You might as well look through my closet and take whatever you want. The chances of me wearing most of that stuff aren’t really all that high,” said Andreas.

“Are you serious?”

“Of course. It’s just common sense.”

Smiling to herself Dakota unbuckled Lewis’s belt and unzipped his jeans, but left them on him. Since Andreas was wearing sweat pants, one good tug would have them off him.

“Is it our turn now?” Andreas sat up and pulled her onto his lap. He laid her across both his and Lewis’s bodies. She smiled up at them both, their heads quite close to the blue fabric of the tent. Outside it was growing darker and the light coming in from the open doorway was becoming grayer. So everything had a blue shade to it, which was rather pretty and romantic.

Dakota had enjoyed being undressed by them before and waited to see what would happen this time. They both were very good at distraction, kissing and licking her skin while removing clothing from somewhere totally different. But she was ready for them tonight. Ready to be undressed. Ready to be teased and aroused. Ready to be fucked.

This time there was very little finesse. With her laying across them they each pulled and dragged at the garment closest to their hands. Her top came off with no struggle, but the jeans confused them because neither of them had thought to unsnap the fastener. Lewis wiggled out from underneath the pile of people and pulled her legs up, undoing her shoes and removing them, then tugging her jeans off her feet once he’d solved the fastener problem.

Then Andreas rolled her onto her side to undo her bra. While she was there she used her spare time and both hands to give a strong tug to Lewis’s jeans, which slid off his hips and down his legs to puddle around his ankles. That was the helpful thing about men. Since their hips were narrower than their waists, their jeans almost fell off them.

Lewis matched his face to hers and began kissing her nose and earlobe. She giggled and ran a finger across his forehead until Andreas touched her ass as he pulled her panties down.

“Has anyone ever taken you here?”

“Not for a very long time.”

“Tonight it is mine, and I can promise you it’ll be good. Better than ever before.”

She had no trouble believing that. The two of them seemed to have mouths and hands everywhere. Her brain struggled to keep up with all the delicate licks and touches placed on her naked skin. Her gaze was focused on Lewis’s handsome chest, but she never for a moment forgot Andreas was right there, too, his hands on her ass cheeks, his mouth on her ass, her back, her thighs, never the same place for two consecutive kisses.

She heard a zipper opening and looked over her shoulder to see Andreas pulling some things out of a duffle bag. She’d known there were a few other things in the tent and had vaguely assumed they’d include lube and condoms, but the idea of an entire bag full of equipment hadn’t occurred to her. Maybe he had wet washcloths and a towel for them to clean up afterward. Mentally she shrugged off her thoughts and flicked a tongue over Lewis’s nipple. He hissed and she smiled. It was good to know he was as aroused as he was making her feel.

And then Andreas’s finger slid into her ass. It was cold and slippery so she guessed it was coated with gel, but damn it felt so good in there.

“Did you enjoy the anal sex before?” asked Lewis, taking his mouth off hers.

“I didn’t dislike it, and logic makes it quite clear that if I am to have a relationship with two men there is going to be anal sex as well as oral and vaginal sex, but I never achieved some of the intense climaxes some people speak of. I suppose I thought that’s because only men have a prostate gland.”

“No, it’s because the man didn’t do it right. Tonight you will have an intense climax we promise you that,” said Andreas.

Dakota looked over her shoulder at him kneeling behind her and reached back, gripping his cock in her hand. “Aren’t you being just a little cocky?” she asked, stroking him from tip to root firmly.

Andreas gasped. “When your hand is there you can call me any name you want.”

She laughed and turned around to Lewis. She cupped his balls and rolled them, waiting until he closed his eyes and lips in pleasure.
