No doubt the most famous, and oft-reproduced, baseball photo ever taken, but how could it be omitted in a biography of Ty Cobb? He is sliding into third against Jimmy Austin of the St. Louis Browns.

This is the play that touched off the near-riot in Philadelphia in 1909: Cobb, sliding into third, spikes Home Run Baker.
