Chapter Two

Dave woke late the next morning and enjoyed the feeling of Sadie in his arms. Sometime during the night she had turned and was now facing him, one leg over his hips, leaving her open and ready for him. And he was ready for her. Waking with a stiffy was not unusual, but waking with someone who could help resolve the problem was. He slowly adjusted to fit parts together, and gently kissed his lover awake, not wanting to take advantage of her.

“Morning, sunshine.”

“Morning, Master. I see we aren’t the only ones awake.” She giggled, feeling him between her legs.

“No we aren’t. Care to help me this morning?”

“I think we can find some way to rectify this situation.” She snickered.

“I think bratty subs may get punished first thing in the morning, but only after I get a little relief.” Then he slid home.

“Ahhhh,” she screamed, not quite ready for him. He held still to give her a minute to adjust before he started a slow in and out motion. “Oh, Master, that feels so good, faster, please faster.”

“Faster, girl, who’s in charge here? I think slow and gentle will be the way of it this morning.” Varying the rhythm and depth of his strokes just enough to keep both of them on edge, he prolonged his completion as long as he could before taking her with him.

Sitting up on the side of the bed, he pulled her over his lap and gave her five quick swats on the ass. “That’s for being bratty,” he told her, lifting her up and leading her to the shower.

After taking a shower, they went into the small kitchen he had in his suite—not every suite was equipped with a kitchen—and he prepared her breakfast. “What are you doing today, girl?”

“I don’t have any plans, Master,” she answered, wondering where this was going as she ate the scrambled eggs and toast he had prepared.

“If the offer is still open, how about we do that dinner tonight? Would you have time to prepare?”

Going over what she had on hand and what she could make without a lot of fuss, she answered, “Yes, Master, I think that would work. If you’ll allow me to go home and prepare for a few hours, I’ll leave you my address and you can come by later. Would that be okay?”

Dave had thought about spending the day with her, but she sounded like she needed some time to prepare. As long as he got to see her later, it would be okay. “I think that could work. I’ll be at your place around five and we can plan on eating between six and seven. I’ll bring some wine. Would that give you enough time?”

“Yes, Master.” Her inner self was jumping up and down. How was she going to make it until five? As she went over everything she wanted and needed to do, she knew the day would fly by.

Sadie went home and, after changing into cleaning clothes, set to work, tidying the house and fixing lasagna, one of her specialties. Time flew and before she knew it, it was time to start getting ready. She found a peasant blouse and skirt that was loose and flowing, something very comfortable, but just a little sexy. Pulling the blouse off her shoulders, and choosing to go barefoot, she went to make sure the lasagna and garlic bread were ready for the oven. All she would have to do was put it in and toss the salad. Now to wait for Dave.

It was a little before five and Sadie wondered around her condo, picking up and looking at things, trying to make the time pass faster. She found herself staring out the window, watching for Dave. She was not sure what he drove, so every car that pulled into the lot was potentially him, and she was disappointed when it wasn’t. Looking at the clock she saw that only two minutes had passed and knew she was going to drive herself crazy before he got here if she didn’t find something to focus on. Grabbing her e-reader, she opened the current BDSM novel she was reading trying to distract herself with the story.

Dave arrived at Sadie’s at four thirty but didn’t want to look anxious, so he sat in his car. He had stopped on the way to pick up wine and flowers, but was still early. Looking at the clock every few minutes, time was passing very slowly. He decided to get out and walk around, checking out the neighborhood and surrounding condos to see what type of place Sadie lived in and if it was safe.

He quickly walked through the complex, nodding and smiling at kids playing and adults also walking around. It seemed like a nice quiet place, and people seemed to be friendly, tossing a ball to a group of kids playing, he decided he had stalled long enough.

Walking up to Sadie’s door, he knocked not caring he was early. Sadie opened the door with a smile. “Hi,” she greeted him.

“Oh shit!” was all he said as he took off sprinting for the parking lot.

Sadie stood with her mouth open watching and trying to figure out what was going on. Dave got into his truck and grabbed something out. Running back with his arms behind his back, he grinned. “Wine, and flowers, my lady.” He had forgotten them in the truck when he got out to walk around.

“Why thank you, kind sir.” She grinned and opened the door wide to gesture him in. So far tonight was going great. They were comfortable with each other from their interactions at the club and there was none of the awkwardness of a first date.

Sadie turned and locked the door, and as she turned back to Dave he was right there in front of her. Almost running into him, she stopped and looked up at him, smiling. He leaned down and brushed his lips against hers, Wrapping her in his arms, he guided them down to the couch, sitting her in his lap, his mouth never leaving hers.

He continued the kiss until they were both out of breath and panting. Pushing off his lap, she grabbed the flowers and wine from the coffee table where he must have set them and headed for the kitchen to chill the wine and put the flowers in a vase and try to get her equilibrium back. The man could definitely kiss.

Turning from putting the wine to chill, she opened her mouth to ask him if he wanted something to drink only to find him standing right behind her, again. For a big man, he was very quiet on his feet.

“Ack,” she screamed, taking a deep breath. “Stop that!” She shook her finger in his face.

“Stop what?” He laughed.

“Sneaking up on me. I about lost a year off my life!”

“Is it smart to be shaking your finger in your Dom’s face?”

“Oh, umm, well, I…you startled me, Master.”

He reached around and hugged her. “I just came to see if there was anything I could do to help?”

“Oh, umm…no, I’m just going to put these flowers in water, then I need about an hour and a half to cook the lasagna, how soon do you want to eat?” Why was she letting him get her so flustered? This was Dave, her Master, she’d known him for several months now.

“Why don’t you go ahead and start it and then we can go and talk.”

“Okay.”

Sadie put the flowers in a vase and put the lasagna in the oven. Turning with the flowers in her hand, she took them to the table. “Do you want something to drink?” she asked, turning to Dave.

“No, I’m good for now. Come and sit.”

“They went to the couch and sat. Things had started very well, but now Sadie was starting to feel uncomfortable. What could they talk about? She knew very little about Dave and wasn’t sure where to start.

“So…” Dave said. “Tell me about yourself.”

“I’m one of seven children, we were all born in a small town in Indiana, and after my parents both died, eventually all moved to Denver. My brother was the first to move, bringing my younger sisters with him, then my older sisters and I moved later. I have two older sisters and three younger and we are all very close. My grandparents left us all a trust fund and I mainly live off that. I work part time in an art gallery downtown and paint the remainder of the time. I try to live frugally so my trust will last. I bought this condo when I moved to Denver several years ago, but I am thinking of moving because the condo next door is a rental and some of the people who live there are not the most desirable,” she answered, wondering if she had said too much. “Now your turn.”

“I was in the Air Force for several years, where I met Kyle and several of the guys from the club. We all got together after our service was done and decided to start the club and a bodyguard business. Kyle was a big source of the money for the club, but he lets me run the day-to-day operations, while he is doing bodyguard work. I am the oldest with one brother and one sister in Texas. My father and mother are still with us and live on a cattle ranch in Texas. My brother helps with the running of the ranch and my sister is happily married.” As he was talking, he turned on the couch so his back was to the armrest and pulled her between his legs. “You look tired and I know I am, let’s just sit and relax until dinner is ready. Turn on the TV and we’ll listen to the news while we cuddle.”

“Okay,” Sadie answered. To tell the truth she was tired and just to close her eyes for a few minutes sounded wonderful. Almost as wonderful as being in Dave’s arms. The awkward feeling had left once they had started talking and she relaxed back in Dave’s arms.

They must have drifted off, because next thing Sadie knew she was startled by the sound of the timer going off. Dave knocked her on the floor jumping up and they both started laughing. “Are you okay?” he asked her as he helped her up.

“Fine, I guess dinner’s ready.” They went to the kitchen and she had him toss the salad while she set the table and got the wine. They carried everything out to the dining room and enjoyed the meal and wine.

After dinner was done and cleaned up, they went back to the living room. “Would you like to watch a movie?” she asked, starting to get that awkward feeling again. At the club things were simple and Dave made all the decisions. It was different tonight and she wasn’t sure how to act.

Feeling her discomfort, Dave decided he needed to take over and see if he could make her feel more comfortable. “A movie sounds good, what do you have?” Showing him her collection, she found that they both enjoyed old John Wayne films. Choosing one they both would enjoy, they settled back on the couch to watch. Dave leaned back and pulled Sadie into the V of his legs and covered them both with the afghan from the back of the couch.

Not talking they settled back and watched the movie. They were both very relaxed and starting to drift off when they heard noise coming from the condo next door. They could hear loud voices and slamming doors. Someone started screaming. Dave started to rise to go and check out what was going on, when Sadie grabbed the phone to dial 911. “They do this all the time, and I’m getting sick of it. This is the third time this week I’ve had to call the cops, but nothing seems to happen,” she said as she was dialing. All of a sudden they heard several loud bangs and Dave threw her to the floor landing on top of her. “Stay down, that was gunfire. Do you have an enclosed room with no windows?” he asked quietly.

Answering in the same tone of voice, she said, “I have a walk-in closet in the bedroom.”

“Okay, we’re going to crawl in there. You will stay underneath me and move as fast as you can.” It was pretty awkward crawling underneath Dave. Even though the situation was not good, Sadie almost giggled out loud, thinking of the other things this position would be good for. Maybe they could try it out one day.

Feeling Sadie’s giggle, Dave asked, “What was that about, girl?”

“Well, Master, I was just thinking about how this position would be fun in another place and time.”

“Yes, I see what you mean, keep crawling. We’ll talk about this later.” He was all serious.

They made their way back to the closet. Sitting on the floor with their backs against the wall, Dave took the phone and called 911. Talking to the operator, he explained the situation.

Wrapping his arms around Sadie, he could feel her shaking. “Hey, it’s okay. We are safe here and can stay here until the cops have cleared everything up. I’m going to stay with you and keep you safe. It’s okay.”

“I’m okay. It’s just adrenaline, I’ll be fine. Ever since they moved into that condo, it’s been hell. The owners are nice, but they have a rental company managing it and they will rent to anyone. I’ve tried calling both the management company and the owners, but no one will do anything about it. I’ve called the cops several times, but nothing seems to happen. I don’t want to move, but it looks like I may have to.” She was almost crying with frustration at this point.

“I’ll talk to the cops and see what I can find out. I’ll also have Evan check into them and see what he can find.” Evan was the security manager for the club and a good friend of Dave’s. They had both been in the Air Force together and Evan had tricks to find information the government didn’t even know about. There was no hiding from Evan.

“I want you to come back to the club with me and stay there until we get this figured out. It’s not safe here and until we get rid of your neighbors, you will be staying with me at the club. I’m not going to let you stay here. I’m going to go out and see if the cops are here and what’s going on. Do not leave this room or I will paddle your ass black and blue and not for fun. Do you understand me?”

“Yes, Master, I’ll stay until you come and get me,” Sadie answered, responding to the Dom tone of voice.

Dave crawled out of the room, listening to see if he could tell what was happening. He heard more gunshots, and quickly moved back to the closet and Sadie. “Still not safe. Give me the phone. Where the hell are those cops?”

Dialing 911 again, he barked into the phone, “Yeah this is Dave Ewers, we called about five minutes ago, where the hell are the cops? We have gunshots fired and need assistance ASAP.”

Not able to hear the other end of the conversation, Sadie was impressed with the way Dave was handling the call Not that she should expect anything different. This was the way Dave handled everything.

Still on the phone, Dave continued the conversation. “No, I’m staying on the line until assistance gets here. I shouldn’t have had to call back! I need your name and the name of your supervisor. This is ridiculous. There should be someone here by now. Someone could be hurt or worse. Did you hear me say shots have been fired? Do your job.”

“Yes I would like to talk to a supervisor. We are in a potentially life and death situation here and I don’t feel you are handling this with the priority it needs.”
