What Are 9-Minute Missions?

For this book, I’ve created a set of twenty new Shapers I call 9-Minute Missions. Focusing on different parts of your body, each one can be completed in nine minutes and will inject some variety into your workout. Try them out and you’ll never get bored of sculpting your muscles and burning fat!

The Food
What Should I Do About All the Unhealthy Food in My Kitchen?

It’s there in your home, your office, your car, your secret hiding places: food that’ll sabotage your weight-loss mission. You love that stuff, but there’s no way around it. You
must
toss anything unhealthy—sugary, fatty, salty, processed, refined, fast, and junk food—that makes your mouth water. Don’t worry: You can always eat the bad stuff when it’s time for a reward day or meal. But the rest of the time, you’ll only succeed with carb cycling if you create a temptation-free environment for success. Some of the sabotage junk foods that you should chuck might surprise you; others are no-brainers. Here’s a partial list:

Alcoholic beverages: beer, wine, and hard liquor

Baked goods such as bagels, white bread, cake, cookies, crackers, pretzels, donuts, and pastries

  Candy

  Chips

  Chocolate

  Fried food

  Frozen dishes and meals

  Fruit juice

  Ice cream

  Soda with sugar

You must also get rid of
all
foods containing the following ingredients:

  Brown sugar

  Corn syrup

  Hydrogenated oils

  Raw sugar

  White flour

  White rice

  White sugar
