Chapter 18
Cooley was on a roll. Her night was going just as planned. When they arrived at the club, she quickly left Carmen. She had things to do and knew she didn't have much time. She got a wristband so that she could re-enter the club when she came back. She quickly caught a cab to her destination.
She pulled up in front of the Westin Hotel, headed in and paid for one night. She opened her room door, and began to set the room up with candles. Cooley was ready for her special night, something she wanted ever since Christmas Day.
She heard a knock on the door; it was time. She opened the door to find Sahara standing there with just a robe on.
“Hey you,” Cooley said as Sahara walked into the room. Cooley couldn't believe it when she got a phone call from Sahara. Every day when Michelle would go running, she would call Cooley. They decided that she would play sick on New Year's Eve. Cooley would rent a room, and Sahara would come to see her while Michelle was at the club. Afterward they would say their good-byes and part ways.
“Hey back to you. I hope you're ready for me.”
“Oh yeah, I am,” Cooley said, stroking her man as she closed the door. She turned around to find Sahara on the bed in a sexy pink baby doll teddy. “Damn, let me join you.” Cooley headed to the bed.
They instantly began to passionately kiss.
Cooley felt a strange connection to her. She didn't want to stop kissing her. Cooley slowly pulled both sleeves on Sahara's teddy. It quickly fell down, exposing her naked skin.
Cooley caressed Sahara's breasts. She took her nipple and inserted it into her mouth.
Sahara let out moans of pleasure as Cooley sucked on her nipple and it became hard. Sahara lay back and let Cooley work her tongue all over her body.
Cooley's hands couldn't control themselves as they felt on every inch of Sahara's body.
“Yes,” Sahara moaned as Cooley's tongue reached her walls.
Cooley quickly found her clit, stroking it rapidly, side to side like a vibrator. Sahara's whole body quickly began to quiver. She climaxed, which made Cooley even more attentive. She wouldn't be satisfied until she knew Sahara was spent.
“I want to feel you in me,” Sahara whispered as she pushed Cooley over on her back. She quickly got on top and began to ride. She grinded on top of Cooley's strap, her breasts jumping up and down.
Sahara finally went limp after two hours.
Cooley held Sahara in her arms as the sound of Kem's
Kemistry
CD played. Cooley stroked her hair. She usually left right after she finished sexing a girl.
“Man, I could get used to this,” Cooley said softly to Sahara.
Sahara jumped up. “Oh my God! What time is it?” She looked over at the clock, realizing it was one hour until midnight. “God, we were supposed to be at the club by now. Michelle is going to kill me!” Sahara put her robe and teddy on quickly and headed to the door.
Cooley grabbed her arm right before she made it out of the door. “Hey, calm down. It's cool. Just tell her you got stuck in traffic. Come on, this is the last time I may ever see you. Can a nigga get a kiss and hug.”
Sahara looked at Cooley. She had a look of guilt on her face.
“Thank you, Cooley, for what you have done. You are a special woman. But I shouldn't have done this. I am with Michelle.”
“You deserve better than her. Man, I have never felt like this about a woman before, you need someone—”
“No, Cooley, don't say it, okay. I am with Michelle, and nothing is going to change that. So, let's do like we said, part ways and just always have this memory.”
Sahara's and Cooley's eyes met. Cooley knew that there was nothing she could do. She gave Sahara one more last passionate kiss before Sahara pulled away and walked off. Cooley knew it was the last time she was going to see her. This was the first time she ever felt lonely after sex with a woman.
Cooley headed back to the club. The line was long; so many people started celebrating the New Year on the outside, since they couldn't party on the inside. Cooley flashed her wristband.
“Sorry, we have reached the max; we can't let anyone back in,” the bouncer at the door said to Cooley.
“But I have a wristband. I've already been inside.”
“Yeah, so when we do let more people in, we will let you in. But as of now, you're stuck outside.”
Cooley uttered a few curse words and headed to sit on a bench by the door. It was fifteen minutes before the New Year rang in, and she was outside. She saw the door open with people leaving. She stood up so that she could be one of the first to enter. She saw two girls heading out the door, carrying a girl laughing.
“We are going to have a great New Year with this one,” one of the girls said to the other one.
Cooley looked down at the girl's face. She was shocked to realize it was Carmen.
“Hey, what the fuck are you doing!” She tried to grab Carmen's motionless body from the girls.
“Man, get your own ho. This one is ours!” Tasha yelled at Cooley, but was cut off by Cooley's fist meeting her jaw. Tasha dropped the top part of Carmen's body, and her head hit the ground.
“Carmen!” Cooley yelled as she quickly tried to grab her. She still was not moving. “What the fuck did y'all give her?”
Neither girl answered.
“Answer me now!” Cooley stood up in Tasha's face.
“Dude, relax. It's just a little roofie. She will be fine tomorrow.”
Cooley punched Tasha again. The other girl jumped in. Cooley began to fight both girls.
The crowd suddenly was not interested in getting in the club, but was more concerned with the front row seats they had to the fight. Out of nowhere, five police officers showed up, pulling Cooley off of Tasha. She had already knocked the other girl out.
“What is going on here?” one of the officers demanded. “Y'all are all going to jail!”
“Man, these muthafuckas' drugged my friend. Look.”
The officers looked over at Carmen, who was still passed out on the ground. Two officers ran over to check her vitals. The police quickly took Tasha and her friend into custody.
Cooley's heart was racing. She had never been so worried about anyone in her life. Tears started to roll down her face as she looked at the officers examining Carmen's body.
“Are you here alone, miss?” one of the officers said to her.
It took her a minute to register what he was saying to her.
“Naw, my friends, Denise Taylor and Lena Jamerson are in there. Can you please get them for me.” Cooley could barely speak. She lost all her cool. The only thing on her mind was Carmen.
She noticed lights coming down the street; it was an ambulance. “No, no, what's going on with my friend? Get me to my friend!” She tried to run to Carmen, but was detained by the police. “Let me go. I need to be with her.”
“You can't be with her right now. Just calm down. Everything will be okay.”
“No, no, let me get to her now!” She tried to fight the officers, but lost control. She instantly broke down in the officers' arms.

After throwing up twice, Lena felt like she was back to normal. She walked out of the bathroom and looked around. She couldn't remember which way she came from. She noticed the bar in the back, and remembered that's where Denise was waiting on her. She felt someone grab her arm and quickly found herself face to face with an older stud.
“Damn, baby, you walking off the wrong way. You supposed to be right here with me.” The stud had a mouth full of gold teeth and a three-piece purple suit on.
“I'm sorry. I am already with someone. I am heading back to her now.” She hoped that would get her off the hook, but it didn't work.
“Ya girl let you out her sight. She must be out her damn mind.” The stud put her arm around Lena and pulled her closer. “Looks like she lost something and I found it.” She smiled.
Lena became very uncomfortable. “I'm sorry, but can you please let me go. I have to get back to my friend.”
“Oh, so it's just a friend. Good. So, you're not here with your girl.”
“No, I mean, yeah, she's my girl.”
The stud grabbed Lena on her butt.
“Look, let go of me.” Lena pushed the stud into the wall.
Embarrassed at the women around her laughing, the stud became angry. “Bitch, you better learn to respect a pimp when you're in her presence!” The stud grabbed Lena's arm with force.
“Let go of me!” Lena yelled. She was becoming angry and scared at the same time. Suddenly, she felt someone grab her other arm and pull her away.
“You better let her go before I seriously have to do something to your punk ass!” Denise pulled Lena out of the way and was standing in front of the stud.
“Who the fuck you suppose to be, little girl? You better back the fuck back!” The older stud stepped closer to Denise.
Denise stood in the same spot and didn't back down. “Look, I am not trying to fight you, but if you put your hands on my girl one more time, we gon' have some serious problems in this club.” Denise had a very stern look on her face.
Lena had never seen her look so serious before. “Come on, Dee, it's not worth it.” Lena pulled Denise's hand.
Denise followed her, not taking her eyes off of the stud. The stud laughed. “Yeah, get the fuck out my face and go with your tramp!”
Before Lena could stop her, Denise let go of her hand and began to pound on the stud. Lena didn't know what to do.
Three studs standing close quickly pulled Denise off of the stud who was laid out on the floor.
“Denise, no!” Lena grabbed Denise and pulled her out to the middle of the dance floor. She put her arms around Denise. “Calm down. Dance with me.”
Denise was fuming. Lena stared into her eyes, and she could see the anger dying.
“I'm sorry you had to see that,” Denise said to Lena.
“Don't worry about it.” Lena grabbed Denise's arms and pulled them around her waist. They began to dance to the music. “Thank you,” Lena whispered into Denise's ear. Their eyes met, and suddenly there was no one else in the room. Denise couldn't stop staring at Lena. She was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. Her heart began to race; she felt butterflies in her stomach. The smell of Creed, Lena's favorite perfume, was exciting all of Denise's senses. She felt Lena pulling on her.
“Denise, they just called our names to the door.”
“Huh?” Denise snapped out of her daze when she heard Lena say
door
. “What did you say?”
“They just called our names over the mic to the front door.” She heard her name ring out over the mic.
“Carmen or Cooley!”
She grabbed Lena's hand. Her heart began to race, wondering what could be wrong.
They made it out the door to find Carmen on a stretcher and Cooley in the arms of a police officer. They ran up to the scene. Police were keeping the crowd back from the ambulance. Denise tried to break through, but couldn't. She yelled Cooley's name. The police officer let them through, realizing they were with Cooley and Carmen.
Lena ran to check on Carmen, and Denise grabbed Cooley, who was crying in the officer's arms.
“Bruh, what happened? Cool, what happened to Carmen?”
Cooley looked up at Denise. “I shouldn't have left her. I should have stayed here with her.”
Cooley was obviously delusional. She had a frightened look on her face. Denise had never seen her friend like that. She asked the officer what happened, but wasn't given any information.
Lena ran over to Denise. “She was drugged, by that girl.” Lena pointed to Tasha, who was sitting on a bench, in handcuffs, by another girl.
Denise's body became filled with rage. She ran over toward Tasha, but was caught by two police officers.
“What did you do to her? I am going to kill you!”
The police officers pulled Denise back over by Cooley.
“Ma'am, you need to calm down. This isn't going to help your friends,” one officer said as he walked up to Denise. “Now, your friend is going to be okay. She was given some pills, but they are wearing off slowly. They are pumping some fluids into her so that she will become hydrated quicker. She just needs to get to a bed and sleep it off. Can we trust you all to take her home, or do we need to take her to the hospital for a night?”
“No, officer, we will take care of her. I will go get a cab,” Lena answered. She was the only one who was calm. Denise was furious, and Cooley was too frightened.
