Epilogue

“Cassandra, get back here!” I shouted at my daughter while my father-in-law just chuckled. What a prick!

“It’s not funny,” I snarled at him, but he just laughed and shook his head at me.

“It’s a little bit funny, my dear,” Sophia acknowledged as she walked slowly up to us.

I was still going after my daughter, who was walking toward the backyard garden with Fabrizio. “It’s not at all. She isn’t going to be falling in love with Italian boys.”

“Just like my father didn’t want me to fall in love with an American?” My smart-ass wife thought that I was acting like my father-in-law did, but this was very different.

“It’s different,” I growled.

She pulled my arm to stop me and hissed, “How so?”

I looked down at the love of my life and made my point. I wasn’t going to be dissuaded no matter how beautiful she still was after five kids, and as of this morning, number six. “You were a grown woman when you fell in love with the best man in the world; Cassie is eight.”

“They’re only playing together. They have at least fifteen years before they become a couple. By then, there’s a huge chance she could fall in love with one of the little shits near us in Maine. Come on, let’s go see what they’re doing.”

We walked into the backyard to see them playing with some toy trucks. I guess I was being a bit insane, but she was my only girl.

The second oldest, she was a daddy’s girl and the moment she was born, I understood Sophia’s father. I didn’t want her to ever leave me, but I sure as hell wasn’t going to hold her hostage.

“Mommy, Daddy, look what Fabrizio gave me!” She held up a dump truck.

“It’s a promise that I’m going to marry her,” Fabrizio declared with a big grin.

I turned to my wife and growled, “See what I told you.”

“Please…I’m not marrying you unless you’re as amazing as my dad, and I expect a ring bigger than my mother’s because of inflation.”

“That’s not how inflation works, silly girl. I don’t want to marry you anyway. Give me my truck back. I’m going home!”

“Your Papa is in the house, Fabrizio,” I informed him as he marched away from my little girl.

He turned to look back at her, shook his head then turned back to me and said, “Dio mio, women!” He huffed off into the house, and I secretly cheered.

“Oh, Caleb quit with the grin. You’re mean,” Sophia declared before swatting my chest.

“Hey, what’s wrong with her being a daddy’s girl for a little while longer?” I asked honestly.

“Nothing at all. It’s just hilarious to watch you. You were the same way with Kevin, down the street from us because he invited her to his birthday party.”

“He wanted her for her money,” I retorted. That little boy had dollar signs in his eyes when it came to his presents. Of course, my wife didn’t see it.

“You’re being stupid.” She rolled her eyes at me for the millionth time since Cassandra was born.

“Am I now? Ask Zoey and Vanessa what it’s like to grow up with rich parents. They’ll tell you how many men came on to them because of their status.”

“Well, who’s fault is it that you’re successful?” she countered.

That was an easy answer. “My wife, who forces me to go to work so I’ll stay out of her panties.”

“I’d like to not be pregnant until my reproductive years end. These days, I’ll be in my late forties and still popping out your offspring.”

“We tried to use birth control,” I offered.

“Yeah. Right up until the day I married you,” she sneered at me with an angry pout.

“So true. I put Caleb in your belly on our wedding night,” I chuckled, giving her a wink before pulling her to me. I was proud that I managed to knock her up on the first try without birth control. Every one of my kids was a source of pride and joy for me. They were a product of my love for their beautiful mother.

With a slight shake of her head, she disbelievingly sighed, “I can’t believe we’re on baby number six.”

“Do you feel alright, babe?” All her pregnancies went smoothly thankfully, but it didn’t mean they were easy. She went through the usual aches, pains and vomiting, but I still worried because she was the love of my life.

“I’m feeling great today. It was yesterday that I was so sick,” Sophia grumbled. She spent the day vomiting while I worked and the kids were with their grandparents.

“I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well. Is six one too many?” I hoped she didn’t regret this baby because I was over the moon about it.

“No, of course not. Caleb, I want to have as many babies with you as we can. We’ve had five in the past ten years, so I’d say another five is my max. I was built to be a mom. I just didn’t know it.”

“You don’t miss being a lawyer?” I asked.

“No, I get to help you sometimes and that’s enough for me. I love our children. I love when you come home after a long day, and I hand off the kids and go get my nails done,” she teased.

“You’ve got jokes today, smart ass,” I grumbled as my lips captured hers. Our kiss was slow and sweet.

“Always smart, Mr. James.”

“Yes, Mrs. James, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,” I groaned as I rubbed my latest erection against her sweet pussy.

She moaned and pressed into me. “I love you, Caleb,” she said lovingly.

The family was inside in the living room playing a board game, so I seized my opportunity. “I love you too, Sophia. Are you feeling up to a little bit of celebrating?”

“I thought we did that this morning?” she teased as I carried her hurriedly up the stairs to our bedroom.

Locking the door behind us, I groaned. “I always have a new reason to celebrate inside of you.”

“Oh yeah, what is it this time?” she asked softly as I slid her down from my arms.

I wrapped my arms around her from behind and gave her a squeeze. “I’m celebrating that my baby is still free from love’s grasp for a while longer.”

“You really do find any reason to celebrate,” she sighed as she pressed her ass into my dick.

“Yes, indeed. I’m a lawyer. I always try to find an edge so I can make my case,” I growled in her ear before biting down.

“I guess you have made your case, counselor,” she sighed as she ground her body against mine.

I was at my breaking point, I slid my hand under her dress and into her panties. I needed to be inside her before we were interrupted. “Having you is always a reason to celebrate. Come, wife, we’re wasting valuable party time. I need you naked.” Fuck, I’m so fucking grateful I crossed that line.
