“Hey, Mac. How’s the family? Good, I hope,” he said, leaning against the pool table and waiting for me to respond. When I didn’t, he continued. “Remember that favor you owed me? The one I said you’d have to pay up?” That loan shark smile from earlier spread obscenely across his face. “Why don’t you get yourself a beer while I tell you what you have to do because it’s time to pay the piper.”
