“It's called
Ane Rouge
.”

She grinned. “Red ass?”

He threw her a wink with a mischievous smile. “The submissive members contribute to its name.”

“Why didn't you tell me sooner?”

“We haven't even slept together yet. I didn't want to scare you off since you insisted on taking things slow.”

She cast her gaze on an ivory statue across the room, feeling naked beneath his raunchy leer. “Everything that's happened between us so far has been so strong and overwhelming. That vision, our attraction to one another, the way I feel whenever you kiss or touch me. I really want to sleep with you. I'm just worried if I do, I'll get too attached to you and then you'll meet your true mate.”

“Sonya.” The steamy caress of his sizzling whisper was every bit as tantalizing as the rough, masculine hand sliding up her thigh and under her little black dress. “You
are
my true mate.”

Her heart slammed inside her chest. “You told me on our first date that I wasn't your mate, but you still wanted to see me.”

“You made me promise that I wasn't. I said what I had to to get you to go out with me again.”

Her jaw dropped. “You lied to me?”

“I would do anything to be with you, Sonya. Why does that surprise you?” His features tightened with warning when she tried to grab his hand away from her crotch. “Move your hand.”

She caved to his will and removed her hand, feeling awkward and put in her place. Hopefully, he didn't notice the way her pussy flooded at his assertive treatment of her.

“You've got a lot of nerve rebuking me for dishonesty when you haven't exactly been honest with me.”

“What are you talking about?” Concentration proved difficult with his thumb nuzzling her plump clitoris.

“You know damned well what I'm talking about. I'm referring to the fact that you're already mated to someone else.”

She gasped at his knowledge and the severity in his tone. The fierceness of his jealous anger was evident in the blazing blackness of his eyes as he gave a tug and tore her panties off from beneath her dress. Liquid heat flowed from her cunt at his sudden dominance.

“What are you doing?”

“What are
you
doing?” he challenged.

“How did you know I was already claimed?”

“That mark on your shoulder. I know it's invisible to humans except during a full moon, but shape shifters can always see it. When were you planning on telling me about it?”

Sonya trembled when his nimble fingers lightly feathered her smooth labia. The contact was immensely stimulating and there was no way she could concentrate on answering him with his hand there. “I didn't think it concerned you since our relationship is only temporary.”

“Oh really? I'm a player who’s never had a relationship until you and you think what we have isn't serious?” Dante looked pissed and that much hotter.

“I'm sorry. I just assumed you would meet your real mate and then forget about me. Which brings us back to the fact that you lied to me.” She jolted when his finger skimmed through her folds and smeared her cream around with a hungry look of approval on his ruggedly handsome face.

“We're not discussing my lie. We're discussing yours. Who was this mate of yours and does he know you'll be sharing another man's bed tonight?”

His illicit promise heated her blood. As much as his arrogance instilled her with desire, his assumption that she would just hop into bed with him because he wanted her to ticked her off. “I'm not sharing your bed tonight.”

His ebony eyes flickered with a smoldering heat and an unmoved confidence. “Yes, you will, but we'll get to that. Now tell me about your mate. What was he?”

She glanced up at the ceiling, trying to fight the gnawing anguish of the past and the mounting sensations Dante's wicked fingers elicited in her privates. “He was a demon.”

Dante paused, seeming intrigued by the news before his digits became fascinated with her drenched slit again. “What kind of demon?”

“An incubus.”

“Is he the reason you were banished from heaven and got turned into a crusnik?”

She nodded. “Yes, slaying vampires is the only way I can earn back my redemption.”

He paused suddenly before inserting a long, thick finger into her soaked vagina. “I see.”

A wild gasp tore from her throat and her body arched at the erotic thrusting in her cunt. “Oh Dante, that feels so good.”

He gave her a sensual smile and threw her a libidinous wink. “It's only going to get better. So where is your mate now?”

Her eyes closed and she drew in a deep, uneven breath before heaving a shaky sigh. “An archangel turned him to stone and I never saw him again.”

Dante stiffened, jealous eyes gauging her for the truth. “You still have feelings for him, don't you?”

Sonya nearly stopped breathing. To admit to that aloud could cause a serious problem. What if God heard her speak such a thing out loud and punished her for it? What if a demon overheard her confession and somehow used it against her? “Why would I be with you if I still cared about him? I'm exactly where I want to be and who I want to be with.”

Dante's mesmerizing lips curved up into a half smile as his finger retreated from her snatch. “I'm glad to hear it.”

The low “mm” that rumbled from deep in his chest when he sucked her juices off his finger drove her crazy with want. Sonya leaned in and pressed her lips against the petal-softness of his. She couldn't fight the questing tongue tracing her lips and she slowly parted hers to grant him entrance. His kisses were like black magic – forbidden and hypnotic.

His large palm found her left breast and cupped it possessively, rolling it in a pleasant rhythm. He pulled her onto his lap and nestled the bulge in his jeans against her damp cleft, drawing a whimper from her trembling lips.

“I want to sleep with you, Dante,” she whispered as her hand swept across his cheek in a gentle, loving stroke, “but you can't ever claim me. To do so would bring about your death. It's against the laws of fate to mark another individual's blood mate.”

Dante coursed his fingers up her nape and tangled them in her hair with a hard determination etched into his face. “I was meant to be with you, Sonya. I don't believe for a second that a dulcet angel like you was intended for a demon and destined to spend an eternity in hell with him. Only the bite of a person's true mate can erase the mark of another. I can free you from him.”

The offer tempted and broke her heart simultaneously. “And if you're wrong and we weren't meant for each other, the hold he has on me will stand and
our
mating won't work. You'll have a host of demons after you.”

“I'm not afraid, Sonya. You know this feels right.”

“It does. That's what bothers me.”

He gently angled her chin upward to meet his searching gaze. “Is there some part of you that believes deep down that you truly belong with him?”

The question ripped her heart in two and plunged her into a frenzied panic. It was probably only psychological, but she felt like the entire universe sat back with baited breath just waiting for her answer and prepared to punish her severely should her response be poor.

She looked him in the eye. “I belong with you, Dante.”

“Then what's the problem? Unless you feel like you were meant for both of us? That can happen you know. Shifters can have more than one mate. It's rare, but it happens. Maybe you were meant to be with two different men.”

She shook her head and loosened the buttons on his charcoal-gray, long-sleeved shirt. He looked like sex on a stick in it and his cologne dampened her panties every time he wore it. Without her underwear on now, the slickness would have trickled down her inner thighs. “No one is meant to be with a demon except other demons.”

“That's true. Maybe he broke out of the stone and has a nice demon bride now.”

Sonya felt a wall of devastation slam into her. She meant to conceal the cloud of misery hovering over her, but couldn't do so quickly enough to escape Dante's notice.

“That torments the shit out of you. I can see it in your eyes. No matter what you tell yourself, you're not over him.”

She wouldn't look at him as she finished undoing the buttons on his shirt. “I didn't say that.”

He cupped her jaw and trapped her eyes with his. “You didn't have to.”

Her eyelids descended in a weak attempt to conceal her pain. “Please don't say anything to anyone. I'm not supposed to feel this way. I mean I don't.”

“Hey, look at me.” His countenance softened and became tender when she obeyed him. “Who am I going to tell? Anything you tell me in confidence will always be kept safe. I promise. Now take your dress off.”

She smiled and fondled the impressive display of his pecs peeking out from the division of his shirt. “I don't want to break up with you, but -”

“Good. I'll beat your ass raw if you ever try.”

She grinned before becoming somber. “We can keep on dating, but you can't ever claim me.”

Dante rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Frustrating little tart.”

“I'm serious. It's for your own protection.”

He held his arms out, inviting her with a gesture of his hand and a nod of his head to take in his chiseled structure. “Babe, look at me. Do I look like I need protection? I was a bouncer for years and a hit-man before that. I can handle myself in dire situations.”

“Wait. What do you mean you were a hit-man?”

He paused with a scowl before a repentant half grin came over his face. “Oops. It was a long time ago. Besides you can't exactly judge me when you're basically a mercenary.”

“I'm not a mercenary. I hunt down vampires to protect mankind. I don't kill people for money.”

“Well, neither do I...anymore. Don't look down on me, woman. You fucked a demon.”

Her spirit sank. He was right. Her unholy betrayal against heaven was considered a greater sin than being a professional killer.

Dante grappled for her hand, face splashed with remorse. “Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take a cheap shot at you. You're a good woman. I seriously doubt you've made the mistakes that I have.”

“It's okay. We all have things that we're ashamed of.”

The heavy reticence gradually evaporated into a smoking silence that smothered the air with mutual lust.

“Hey, didn't I tell you to take your dress off?” Dante asked with a naughty grin.

Sonya pecked his lips and smiled. “Make me.”

His mouth enveloped hers in a searing kiss that made her knees shake as he hoisted her up. Her legs bracketed around his hips while he carried her into his bedroom. The wind was practically knocked out of her when he slammed her up against the wall and sucked her neck with enough strength to create a series of hickeys.

“Take your dress off, Sonya,” he rasped against her sensitive flesh. “If I have to ask you again, your taut ass is getting a spanking.”

She moaned and did her best to slip the dress off over her head in the awkward position. Frankly, a spanking sounded quite nice, but then so did getting naked as quickly as possible with him.

His eyes darkened with desire when he saw her midsection, cleavage and bare cunt. “Jesus, look at you.”

Dante carried her over to the bed while they made out. She pulled his shirt down his arms so his chest was exposed and he unhooked her bra with one hand before tossing it aside. Both lost their breaths as they came down on the mattress together and ground against one another wildly.

“Damn it, you're distracting me from my plans,” he murmured against her face in between kisses.

“What plans?”

He got up and pulled some leather bondage cuffs from the drawer of his nightstand. The items made her giddy. Her stomach felt a euphoric rising sensation when he pinned her down to the bed on her back and shackled her to the headboard.

“So beautiful,” he whispered, dragging his hand down the front of her body and a tortured, blissful moan from her. “I'll be right back.”

“Where are you going?”

Dante threw her a wink and blew a kiss at her before leaving the bedroom. He returned a minute later with a dildo made completely of ice.

“Oh wow.” Her vagina clenched tightly as if dreading the cold phallus it knew was coming.

“Don't worry. I rinsed it in water so it won't stick.”

“Thank you, but that's going to be cold.”

He shed his jeans, leaving his boxers on and climbed onto the bed. She squirmed when he spread her thighs and sat between them.

“It's going to feel especially cold when I slap your cunt while it's inside of you.”

Her jaw dropped and she tried to close her legs, but his body prevented her. “That sounds awful. Having my pussy slapped is painful enough without adding ice to the mix. Are you a sadist or something?”

His lopsided grin stole her heart. “That's exactly what I am. Didn't I tell you?”

“No. You can't just wait until you get a woman naked and chained to your bed to tell her something like that.”

He winked at her and rubbed the slick ice against her shaved pussy. “I just did. I guess I also failed to mention that I like BDSM and I'm into sharing. If you run with me, babe, you're going to be fucked by other men too and the occasional woman.”

Sonya gasped and struggled against her confines. The bondage and his refusal to free her made her hornier than she could stand. She'd been with other men over the years, but she hadn't ever engaged in BDSM with any of them or been in ménages since her time with Nimbus. Those things always reminded her of him. She wasn't sure how sharing those with Dante would make her feel, but her heated body seemed delighted by the suggestion.

“You kept a lot from me until getting me into bed, didn't you?” she asked.

Dante parted her labia and poised the tip of the ice dildo at her opening, grinning at the way she flinched and gasped. “You weren't ready then, but now I think you are. You like being controlled in bed, don't you?”

“Yes, but -”

“Have you ever been in a three-way or an orgy?”

Hot flashes and cold shivers plagued her lust-weakened body. “What makes you think a former angel – Ow!”

He swatted between her legs, appearing titillated by her outcry. “I want an answer, Sonya. The fact that you won’t give me a direct one means that you have. But I want to hear it from you.”
