Chapter Thirteen

Kaleigh

As we all started to walk to the castle, we saw Anna get up and run toward it I was about to blast her, but
Arabella grabbed my hand. I look at her and she shook her head. I was confused on why she stops me from killing that selfish bitch. Maybe Anna was chicken and wanted to run away from us because she knew I would kick her ass.

“She is confused right now,”
Arabella explained. I know what she is thinking about and I just pray to the Goddess Freya that she does what her thoughts have said.”

“What do you mean?”

“Time will tell.” Then she winked at me. Sometimes when she says something, she confuses the hell out of me. I saw Gabe up ahead talking to Bridget and Cameron, and I suddenly got Jealous. Why wasn’t he back here walking with me? Men! I swear, they are the most annoying creature there is. Arabella laughed and I knew she was in my thoughts again. Then Gabe stopped walking so I could catch up to him.

“What’s wrong, Kay?”

“Nothing.”

He grabbed my arm to stop me from continuing. “Tell me the truth. What happened in the last day or two has us all on edge. I know you are upset because of Daniel—we all are, but I really wish you wouldn’t shut me out.”

I closed my eyes and exhaled. I knew he was right. “I’m just sad. We lost two great people today, and I almost lost you and my brother. Now I have to worry about two more people. My nerves are shot to hell. And I got jealous.” After I said that, I looked away, embarrassed.

“Wait, what are you jealous about? Me talking to Bridget? Listen, that girl is mentally screwed up right now. When this is all done, we will have to help her get her sanity back.  That poor girl has seen as much as you have. She saved your brother by bashing in a wolf’s head, and she staked that vampire who was eating on you like it was lunchtime. You have to understand, we are all in this together and that when this is all over with we will all stick together. This is our family, Kay.”

“I’m scared that I will lose one of you when we enter this castle.”

“Well stop thinking like that. Your head needs to be in the right place, because we all need you to be strong. I can’t have my girl getting all scared, now can I.”

“Gabe, I have feelings for you. I don’t love you just yet because I just met you, but my feelings are really strong; abnormally strong. So strong that they’re impossible to ignore. But I don’t love you.”

“Ouch! Way to bruise my ego,” he exclaimed with a laugh. “I have feelings for you, as well. We will work our way up to love and marriage.”

“Don’t forget the seventeen kids we are going to have.”

He chuckled. “You’re funny. Now, come here and give me a kiss.” I grabbed him into a tight hug and stared into his eyes. Then he crushed his lips into mine. The boy was a great kisser and I wanted to kiss his soft lips forever. He smelled so good and he was shirtless. His bare skin begged for my touch, so I ran my hands over his abs. Yum!
“Um, Kaleigh—sorry to bother you while you’re dry humping your boyfriend, but I think it’s time for us to go.”

I pulled away from Gabe to see Cam laughing at me. “God, Cam, can you be any more annoying?” I stomped off, annoyed.

“Hey, wait for us.” Gabe and Cameron ran up beside me. “Don’t get mad; I was only kidding.”

Feeling stupid, I turned to him and sighed. I knew he wasn’t trying to be an ass. “I know, Cam. I’m just on edge right now. I have no idea what we are walking into.”

We made it to the front doors without any creatures attacking us, which I thought was odd. I looked around and all I saw were those thorn bushes that held dead angels. The trees even looked dead. Then I noticed the moon was starting to shine through the clouds. It was blood red, showing why it was called the Blood Moon. Lightning was striking around it, as if it was a big ball of electricity. I heard some of the people with us gasp, in awe of the strange moon. Admittedly, it was pretty, but eerie won out. I looked around to all that were with us, and my heart melted. They must really love Dean to stand up for him.

“Okay
all, let’s form a line back here.” They all followed me and formed a line. I had Gabe on my left and Cam on my right. Bridget was next to Cam, and Arabella was next to Gabe. “On the count of three, I want you to blast in the doors. Use all that you have, and once the doors are open, storm in and take anyone down that gets in your way. If someone is hurt, you help. Don’t leave one of us behind. You got me?” They all agreed. “Ready? 1, 2, 3, GO!”

Each of our blasts was a different color, creating a rainbow of magic that blasted the wooden door open. We looked inside to see Amelia’s army ready for us. Some of the creatures even had swords and dagger gripped in their palms.

I took a deep breath and ran for it. I got closer and I blasted one of the creatures, and it flew back into a bookcase. One threw a dagger at me, but I ducked. Looking behind me, I noticed it hit a fairy. Damn it! I ran toward the staircase when I saw Kale standing there. He shot a lightning bolt at me, and I slammed myself up against the wall to avoid it. He must have seen my face because he turned to run away like a coward. I skipped steps as I was chasing him. I finally got hold of him, grabbing his shirt and yanking it. He fell back onto me as we tumbled down some stairs, running into someone. Once I got a better look, I saw it was Gabe.

Kale snarled at him. “I see that you picked through my old trash, Gabe.”

I kicked him in the knee. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me. Now get your ass off me, and please stop kicking me,” he whined.

We all got off the floor and I felt pain radiate through my body; my back was going to be nice and bruised. “Have fun with her, Gabe. Oh, wait you won’t; because she doesn’t put out. She’s rigid and stale.”

I think that pissed Gabe off, because the next thing I knew, he was on top of Kale and smashing in his face. Blood was coming out of his nose, mouth, and eyes. I went to grab Gabe’s hand to make him stop before he killed his cousin, but then a dagger
came flying by and stuck Gabe right in the leg. I screamed and he cried out in pain. I knew I had better not remove it, because he was bleeding heavily. I grabbed him and dragged him up the steps. He was heavy and he was making me pull all of the muscles in my back. But I finally found a room and I shut the door behind us. I dragged him to the chair and helped him into it. I looked around to find an herb or something to help stop the bleeding, but there was nothing in the room but the chair Gabe occupied. How odd.

I looked behind me to see there were curtains hanging on the wall, which I thought was weird. I walked over, pulled the draw cords, and opened them up. There was a window that looked into another room. I looked through the window to see a table in the middle of the room. It was covered in blood and someone was lying on it. Next to the table, I saw a witch’s alter, and I knew this was where Amelia did her voodoo shit. Then movement caught my eye and I saw Dean, Cordelia, and Anna. Why was Anna there with them; was she helping them? Was that what
Arabella was trying to say? I needed to get to them. I tried banging on the window to get their attention, but they couldn’t hear me. The glass was like a one-way mirror; like the ones they have at police stations. I walked to Gabe to explain to him what I was going to do.

“Gabe, Dean is right next door with Cordelia. I’m going to go get them and come back, okay?”

I started to walk away and he grabbed my hand. “Kay, I don’t think I’m going to make it. I’m losing too much blood. So if I don’t, I want you to know I am falling in love with you.”

I closed my eyes and tried to hold back my tears. “Gabe, please don’t talk like that.” I leaned down and pressed my lips against his and that was when the tears started. “I will be right back.”

I slowly opened the door to see if anyone was coming. I shut the door behind me, and sank to the floor and sobbed. I sobbed harder than the day my parents died. I wanted this curse to end. I wanted to just run away with Gabe and be happy. I don’t know how long I was there crying when a hand touched my shoulder. I looked up into Cam’s eyes.

“Where are Bridget and
Arabella?” I asked.

“I don’t know, but it’s a blood bath down there,” he replied.

“We will find them, but there is something I want to show you,” I told him, knowing he’d be happy to see Cordelia.

We walked to the door and I opened it. Dean jumped in front of the girls, but when he saw it was us, he ran over and gave me the biggest hug. Then I saw Cam walk in. When he saw Cordelia, it was like magic. They ran to each other and they collided in a tight embrace. My heart was so happy for my brother that my sadness had dulled temporarily.

Cam stopped hugging Cordelia and looked at Anna. “What is she doing here?””

“Cam,” Cordelia spoke up, “Anna saved my dad and me. Please don’t hurt her.”

Dean explained to us what happened, and we all hugged Anna and thanked her for being brave. I apologized for kicking her in the head. She forgave me.

Then I remembered we had no time to waste. “I need help next door,” I told the group. “Gabe was stabbed by a dagger in his leg and he needs help.” We all walked out slowly, and when we entered the other room, he was gone. I started to panic and the room started to spin.

“Where is he? Oh no, where is Gabe? He was right here when I left. No, no, no… what if something happened to him. Dean?”

“Calm down; we will find him. Cam, have you seen
Arabella?”

“No sir, I haven’t.”

I could sense he was starting to panic, too. Our loved ones were missing in the middle of a battle. He started to pace, but the paused and looked up to me and mouthed Amelia’s name. What if she had Arabella and Gabe? This was not looking good at all.

Chapter Fourteen

Amelia

I walked out of the room where I had my husband trapped. He really pissed me off and now he went and knocked up my old best friend. Does she have any morals? I continued to walk to the room I was staying in. I slammed the door, picked up a vase of roses, and I threw them across the room and screamed. I hated them all; I wanted them all to die. I sat there on my bed and thought about the time when Dean proposed to me. He made it so beautiful and romantic; that was the day I knew he was my heart and soul, but then he turned around and broke me, heart and soul.

I held onto Dean’s hand as he walked with me behind the biggest castle in Ithaca. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. I peeked at Dean to see that he had the biggest smile on his face. I had no idea what he had planned for me, but it had to be good. He told me to wear my favorite dress and keep my hair down. Therefore, I picked out my favorite purple sundress, and purple flip-flops. My family was very poor so I didn’t have a lot of nice clothes, but this dress was the nicest thing I owned. I was seventeen years old and dating the most powerful angel in Ithaca. I didn’t need fancy clothes or piles of money. Of course, we had to keep it a secret from everyone. I was sad about that, and I was just waiting for the day that he broke up with me. We stopped walking and I noticed there were over two-hundred white roses in the garden we were in. It smelled like paradise. Directly in front of me was a gazebo and it was decorated with white lights and daisies. Daisies were my favorite flower and Dean knew that. I walked over and smelled the roses and giggled. Dean came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, and I smiled.

“Dean, this is all so beautiful.”

He kissed my neck. “Not as beautiful as you, my Amelia. Please, walk with me to the gazebo.” I turned and grabbed his hand as we walked up to it. Once we were inside, I looked back at Dean and he was down on one knee. My head flew to my mouth. I was speechless.

“Amelia, the first time I saw you in school I was connected to you. You are the most loving girl I know and I can’t believe you love me as much as I love you. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”

I didn’t know what to say. I was only seventeen years old. “Oh my!” I exclaimed as tears fell from my eyes. “Yes, Dean, I will marry you. I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you, too.

He stood up and slipped a ring on my finger. It was a princess ring that had several diamonds around the band with a huge diamond on top. He then lifted me up and kissed me. I loved that man so much.

Loved—as in past tense. Yet, as I came out of the memory, I felt tears against my cheeks. Why am I crying over this guy? He took everything from me! My life, my daughter, and now he was screwing Arabella. I got up and walked to my jewelry box. I opened it and saw my engagement ring sitting in it. I picked it up and threw it just as the door opened. Standing there, was the last person I wanted to see. She saw my face and tried to run. I zapped her with a low energy bolt and Arabella fell to the ground. I said a chant to bind her. I pulled her by the arm and threw her up against the wall. I walked out of the room and heard the sounds of chaos downstars. Then I saw True pulling Bridget up by her hair as she was kicking and screaming.

“Throw her in the room with that other bitch.” I said the chant to bind her and she fell to the floor, and
True dragged her into the room.

Now, it was time for me to go spy on my husband and daughter before I killed them both. When I opened the door, I was surprised to see who was sitting there, waiting for me like bait.

“Well hello, Gabe. Where is your little girlfriend?”

I went over to the window to see that it was a happen reunion. Not if I could have it my way. I grabbed Gabe and pulled him by the hair to throw him in the room with the other ones. I decided to have them come to me so I would sit there and wait. This was the biggest room in this castle. Everything in the room had to be over three-hundred years old. Rumors
were that the last evil witch stayed in this room, and that she was my flesh and blood. She was a brilliant woman, from what I was told, and I believe that she was. I wanted to outdo her; I wanted to be the most powerful witch that ever lived. I got up and looked out at the moon. Damn it, the time had passed. Now, what was I going to do? I wanted all the power; now I wouldn’t be able to do the ritual for thirteen more years. I walked over to where my spell book lay. What do I do? Then something popped into my mind.
Yes, this should work
, I thought as I flipped to a page in the book. I decided to sit back on the big bed and wait for them to find me. That’s when I heard the crowd, and seconds later my door flew open. They ran in, but I guess they didn’t see me on the bed.

I got up and they all jumped back. “You have no idea what you all did, do you? The blood moon has passed, so if I kill Cordelia I won’t be able to receive her powers.” They all started to smile in victory, but my next words stopped them. “So I have another idea.”

“Like what; wait thirteen years and torture me until then?”

I laughed. “No, sweet child. Something a little more dramatic; something I know can’t be un-done.” Dean stepped in front of Cordelia. “So during your family reunion, did you let our daughter know she was going to be a sister?” I asked my husband.

“Dad, what is she talking about?”

I started to laugh. “Oh, dear child;
Arabella over there is carrying your brother.”

“Is this true, Dean?”

“Cordelia, listen to me… I was going to tell you, but...”

“Don’t!” Cordelia yelled. “Don’t touch me! How could you!? Didn’t you learn your lesson the first time?”

She ran out of the room and Cameron tried to run after her, but I stunned them all into place so none of them could move.

I walked to the door and look back at them all. “Just wait until you see what I have planned for her. But right now, it looks like she needs her mother.” With that, I teleported
out of the room with my daughter, taking her to the one place I knew I could execute my plan.
