Calling on every
ounce of restraint he had, he forced one foot in front of the other and slowly
made his way to her. She followed his progress, lifting her head to keep her
eyes on his face the closer he came. Expectation shone in them, waiting to see
what he would do.

He stopped right
in front of her, until their bodies were less than an inch apart and she had to
tip her head up to see his eyes. “Do you know what I missed about you?” he
asked.

Suddenly mute,
she shook her head.

He reached into
that thick mane of hair he was glad to see she hadn’t cut and cupped the back
of her head in his right hand. Leaning closer, he murmured gently.

“I missed
kissing you, and I missed your mouth.”

This time he
controlled the kiss. He brushed his lips against hers, drawing away before she
could reciprocate, then tipped his head and touched them again, one soft nip
after another. They gradually deepened in intensity, until he moved his lips
firmly against hers in one long, lingering caress before finally pulling away.

She would have
followed him, except he’d already moved on. He pressed featherlight kisses
along her jawbone, then down her neck. She tilted her head to opposite side,
allowing him greater access to the smooth curve.

“I missed this
spot right here,” he whispered. He set his mouth to the sweet spot on the side
of her neck, where the skin was the smoothest and most sensitive. He knew she
loved it when he touched her there, and was rewarded with a soft sigh of
contentment in return. Her pulse beat right beneath the spot, and he pushed his
tongue against it, feeling the rapid race of her heartbeat as he licked gently
at the tender flesh.

She was already
squirming in his arms as he lowered his hands. He braced one at the center of
her back, the other at the small. Nina responded instantly, arching her back
against the support he provided. Her breasts slanted upward, pure temptation
for him.

“I missed your
breasts.”

He ached to take
them in his hands, but his tongue was just as good. He worshiped them each in
turn, licking around the tops, along the undersides, then in slow,
ever-shrinking circles toward the nipples. He took his time, avoiding the hard
points as long as possible. They seemed to grow harder and fuller under his
watch, as though demanding, begging for, attention. She did the same, making a
low sound of distress. Finally, he pressed his mouth down on each nipple. His
tongue scraped against the insistent tips as he suckled gently.

Before she
seemed to know what he was doing, he eased her into the chair behind her. Her
bottom rested at the very edge of the seat. He pushed her legs apart, settling
himself between them to continue his journey down her body.

“I missed your
belly.”

He licked a path
down her abdomen, savoring each tremor he felt quake beneath the surface of her
skin against his tongue. He slid his hands down her sides to rest lightly on
her hips. His fingers reached around to sink into her supple buttocks, so soft
and pliable he had to dig the tips in and gently squeeze. Every inch of her
body touching a part of him felt so damn good. She started to squirm and he
held fast, pinning her waist in the prison of his hands.

He pressed a
kiss against the perfectly formed indentation at the center of her belly, then
moved lower. Even as he did, he felt his excitement grow, his heart about to
pound straight through his chest. He couldn’t lose control now, not when she
was so close, not when all he wanted was to hear the sound of her release
echoing in his ears.

Then he arrived
at foreign territory, where there used to be hair and now was none. It was all
so new, yet so familiar, an exhilarating sensation. The skin was unusually
smooth there, possibly smoother than anywhere else on her body, the flesh never
having been exposed with the hair that usually covered it. She was breathing
faster now, her lower body jerking with each short, ragged breath. He took his
time, wanting to drag out the exquisite torment as long as possible. His tongue
swirled in lazy circles downward, until it met the top of that thin line of
hair. It jerked away as though burned, as though he wasn’t going to go any
further, but he didn’t pull his face back.

“Please,” she wheezed,
the word barely coherent in that tortured breath. She tried to push her hips
forward, but he held her in place, locked in his grip. She sounded so
desperate, so plaintive, he couldn’t deny her any longer.

“I missed you
here.”

He murmured the
words right above her apex of her body, breathing warm air against her folds. A
tremor rocked through her, and he knew she’d felt the effect he’d intended. The
lips of her sex were already gaping open. She was almost as wet as his own
drooling mouth, so hungry to taste her.

He tilted his
head up so he could see her face. She was reclining at a forty-five degree
angle, her neck braced against the top of the chair, her back stiff as a board.
The position offered him a perfect view. Her eyes were slammed shut. Her face
was mottled red and screwed up in a look of near pain.

“But most of
all, I missed watching you come.”

He gave her no
time to absorb the words. The last one had barely left his mouth when he put it
down onto her opening. Her head rolled back. Another gasp pierced the air. He
knew her body almost as intimately as his own. He knew exactly what she liked.
His tongue slid right into her body, unerringly finding the nub inside. He
flicked it, then stroked it in long, even thrusts. It took mere seconds for her
to lose it. Her hips jerked in his hands. He held on tight. Her cry split the
air as she let go. He never moved, keeping his mouth on her, keeping his eyes
on her face. Each wave of pleasure she experienced showed there, each second of
her climax revealed to him in living color. Watching her release, it was all he
could do not to reach down and finish off the painful erection throbbing
against his jeans.

Finally, when
she lay spent, her whole body limp, arms and legs spread wide, he withdrew.
Bobby leaned back on his haunches and stared at her. She was always gorgeous,
but never more so than like this. Spent. Satisfied. Her whole body glowed with
contentment. He could have stared at her forever.

An eternity
later, her eyes slowly opened. She looked at him through heavy lids, her lips
lazily curling into a smile.

“You’re making
me glad I waited for you.”

He felt a rush
of pure male pride. “Good. I’d hate to disappoint you.”

“Oh, you didn’t.
Definitely worth waiting for.”

“And I’m just
getting started.”

He would have
pushed himself up if her words hadn’t stopped him.

“Not so fast.
Don’t you want to hear what I missed about you?”

He liked the
sound of that. “I’m all ears.”

He didn’t
anticipate her next move. She lifted her right foot and placed it down over the
fly of his jeans. The length of her foot couldn’t even contain the length of
his erection. She pushed down gently and rubbed her foot up and down ever so
slightly. The increase in the friction there was almost more than he could
take. He sucked in a breath through his teeth.

“Oh, I’d say
you’re definitely not all ears. In fact, I’d say there’s something right here
that needs to be taken care of. Do you want me to take care of it for you?”

He barely heard
her. He couldn’t really see her. All he could do was feel. His universe
narrowed to the sensation of her foot stroking against his crotch, pushing his
restraint to its very limits.

Somehow he
managed to nod.

She sprang to
life. The foot evaporated, and a groan filled his ears. He belatedly realized
it was his own.

Suddenly, she
was on her knees in front of him, her fingers fumbling at the waist of his
jeans. She must have realized his urgency, because she didn’t bother with his
shirt, zeroing in on his most vital need. Bobby held his breath as she popped
the button on his pants and tugged the zipper down. Freed, his cock leapt
forward, pitching a tent in the thin cloth of his boxers. Nina grabbed the
waistbands of both his jeans and underwear and he lifted his hips, allowing her
to tug them down.

Then her lips
were around him. His eyes sank shut and his mouth fell open, but no sound came
out. Not a moan. Not a groan. Not a cry of release. It felt so indescribable
there was no fitting way for his body to react. Dazed, he could only sit there
and absorb it in silent wonder.

She moved her
mouth over his shaft, her tongue swirling around it from base to tip. He’d been
so aroused for so long it didn’t take much for him to reach his breaking point.
He tried to hold on as long as he could, as the pressure built to an
excruciating level, then pushed beyond. Finally, he reached the point where he
couldn't hold back any longer. His body left him no choice, ripping control
away. He came in a dizzying rush, the warmth of her mouth and the sensations
rocking through his cock reverberating through his entire body in pounding
waves. He let go and let the pleasure roll through him, aware of nothing but
the intense spasms of his release.

He took his time
opening his eyes and returning to complete awareness, waiting for the very last
of the orgasm to fade away. When he did, he found her watching him the way he’d
watched her, with a pleased look on her face.

She set her
hands on his thighs and leaned forward. “I still didn’t get a chance to tell
you what I missed about you,” she purred. “You want to hear, or do you need a
rest?”

His erection had
only slightly dissipated. At her words, he felt a telltale twitch that told him
what he already knew. That had been good, but he was nowhere near satisfied.

“After waiting
all this time, I’m not going to need a rest for quite a while, trust me.”

She gave him a
smile that sent the heat flowing back to his groin in full-force.

“I can’t tell
you how happy I am to hear that.”

“DO YOU REALIZE
we never make it to the bed the first time?” Nina said hours later, when they
finally collapsed on top of the mattress in her bedroom. She dropped her head
on top of his chest and lay there with her arms and legs stretched out, basking
in the last remnants of the orgasm drifting through her body.

“Of course not,”
Bobby said. “Your bed’s a long way from the front door, and you can’t keep your
hands off me long enough to get here.”

I
can’t
keep my hands off
you
?” she said incredulously.

“I’m pretty sure
that was you lunging at me like a jungle cat after you opened the door.”

“Admit it. If I
hadn’t, you would have.”

“Nah. I don’t
think you can catch me. I’d just end up squashing you like a bug.”

“Hey,” she said
in mock outrage. She jabbed him in the side with her elbow. All that did was
make him burst out laughing. She listened to the laughter reverberate through
the big echo chamber of his body and smiled. She loved that sound.

“All I’m saying
is that maybe we should try it. It might be nice to shake things up and do
things a little different next time.”

“Just as long as
there
is
a next time.”

“Absolutely.”
She rolled over and flung her arm across his belly, cuddling up against him. He
kissed the top of her head and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, drawing her
near. He was so big and warm and solid. She could have stayed there forever.

Then he spoke
again.

“You know, as
long as we’re trying new things, I’ve been thinking. You want to go out
sometime? Have a real date, see what might happen? Believe me, I’m not
complaining about what we have now, but maybe we could take things a little
further than just this.”

A cold front
blew through her system, chasing away the last of her afterglow and leaving her
chilled inside and out. She closed her eyes, when what she really wanted to do
was put her hands over her ears and pretend he’d never said the words.

The roses he’d
brought suddenly made sense. After three years he knew they weren’t something
she expected or even wanted. Flowers should be given to someone special or
someone who needed to be impressed, a date or a girlfriend, not someone you
were just sleeping with casually. Giving them to her would make what they had
into something more meaningful than it was.

Which seemed to
be exactly what he wanted.

Nina swallowed
the groan that rose in her throat. She should have known what they had couldn’t
last forever. Guys were like that. They either got bored or grew attached. She
would have pegged Bobby for the first category. He hadn’t seemed to be looking
for anything serious with her anymore than she had with him. But people
changed, especially after three years. She may not have. Evidently he had.

A twinge of
sadness struck her. She didn’t want it to be over, but there was no way of
turning back from something like this.

“Well?” he
prompted, reminding her that she hadn’t said anything to his proposal. She
wondered if it was too late to pretend she’d fallen asleep.

Of course it
was. Besides, she wasn’t a child. There was no use hiding. She had to face
this.

She cleared her
throat. “That's not part of the deal. In fact, that’s pretty much the opposite
of the deal.”

“Weren’t you
just talking about shaking things up and doing things a little different?”

“Exactly. A
little different, and within the rules of the deal.”

“Maybe it’s time
we change the rules a little.”

Nina pushed
herself up from the bed and shifted to the other side of the mattress. One hand
fumbled for a sheet to cover herself. It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen everything
a million times over, but the intimacy between them seemed to be gone.
