Chapter Twenty Nine

Alex went to Marie’s to thank her again for the outfit, and let her know how things had gone.

Marie was pleased, “Alex, I knew you would be ok. I saw it in your future.”

“What do you mean?” asked Alex.

“Alex, there’s something about you, I noticed that day we
first met, and it’s not what Gary sees in you either!” Marie said.

“I still don’
t understand.”

Marie stood up and held out her hand to Alex. “Come with me
, let me show you something.”

Alex was intrigued
and followed Marie down the hall into a little room at the back of her cottage. The room didn’t seem to have windows; the walls were covered in fabric and one wall was filled with shelves of books from floor to ceiling. There was a sofa covered with fluffy cushions, which looked a bit strange and didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the room. Marie looked at her and smiled when she noticed Alex looking at the sofa.

“I know it’s not right
, but it’s comfortable and I spend a lot of time in here, when I’m not making clothes,” said Marie.

Alex smiled back and looked ar
ound the room, she noticed that on the floor there was some kind of shrine.

Marie handed Alex a drink, “S
it down and I will explain,” she said.

Alex sat
. She could see why Marie had said it was comfortable.

“Alex do you believe in magical things, spells and hex
es?” asked Marie.

Alex looked at her and wondered
if Marie was for real, she’d always had the sense she was different, but not strange in the head.

“I’m not sure.
I’ve seen films with magic and witchcraft and wizards and I would like to believe some of it’s true. They must have to get their ideas from somewhere,” Alex replied, not quite sure where this was going.

“Well . . . Alex, I’m a witch
, a pagan one, I practice Wicca, or whatever you want to call it. Other than Gary, you’re the only other person I’ve told,” said Marie as she sat down next to Alex, looking at her and waiting for a reaction.

Alex
gave her a friendly glance and took a sip of her drink, “That’s why you could see my future?” asked Alex, trying not sound like she thought Marie was crazy.

“That’s right, there was something when we first meet, something I sensed in you
but wasn’t sure about, I wanted to get to know you better first. You and Gary are meant to be together, always, I can see it and this adventure you are both on is making you stronger, but I sense trouble brewing. Something to do with Gary which I can’t quite make out, but every time we meet this feeling of danger is getting stronger, as though it’s going to happen soon,” said Marie.

“Marie
, we are both great, there’s nothing wrong, don’t worry, nothing is going to happen.” Alex put her hand on Marie’s shoulder, who shuddered.

“It’s you
! Something’s going to happen to you!” Marie said.

Alex felt a twinge of anxiety
. “Are you sure Marie, what’s going to happen to me?” she asked.

“I don’t know
, I can’t work it out,” said Marie. “Come, let me try something to see if I can make it clearer,” she said and fetched one of the books off the shelf and then began to put things on the shrine.

How long have you been practicing witchcraft?” asked Alex.

“It’s a skill passed down through families, that part you see in films
is true, plus everyone is born with a bit of magic in them, it’s just whether you choose to ignore it or use it,” she answered. “Come Alex I know this is a little much to take in, but I’m worried. . .” Marie gestured for Alex to sit by her in front of the shrine.

Alex got up and knelt down by Marie
, she didn’t want to upset her, plus a little part of her believed that what Marie was saying could have some truth to it.

“I’m going to
try to see if I can discover what is going to happen,” Marie held Alex’s hand and began to chant some words over the things she’d collected on the shrine.

Alex watched as Marie’s ey
es seemed to glaze over and the chanting became hard to follow. Alex wasn’t sure if the drink was affecting her but she couldn’t help but believe that this magic was real in some way. What felt like 15 minutes passed with Marie in a trance, then she came out of it.

Marie looke
d at Alex, “I can’t make it out, it’s like there’s someone else involved but I can’t see them, and it’s like they haven’t quite finished what they are planning. I just keep getting the end picture, which is something to do with you, I can’t see what it is, but I know it’s trouble,” said Marie.

“I’m sure I will be ok
, Marie. I can’t see Gary letting me get into danger, he always knows where I am,” said Alex trying to calm things down.

“I’m sorry, Alex you must think I’m mad, let’s just forget about
it for the time being and have some more drinks and a pleasant evening,” said Marie, but Alex could sense she was still troubled by her premonitions.

“Come on
then, let’s get out of this room for a bit,” said Alex standing up.

They went into the living room
, and soon the shrine and the warning were forgotten, Alex couldn’t help thinking Marie was a bit crazy, but she still was very fond of this wonderful lady, witch or not.

Chapter Thirty

Harry was back in his apartment, it had been three weeks since he’d had a proper day off. The first week he’d spent with Melissa, he was beginning to relax with her and he looked forward to getting to the club just to see her, letting her take control of him. More and more she’d got to him in a way he hadn’t planned on; she made him feel important to her, and in their sexual relationship he loved her punishing him, the pain made him feel exhilarated.

During the evenings he was at the bar
, working till the early hours and then straight home, a quick shower and off he went to the club. He didn’t want to be away from Melissa longer than he had to be.

He was lying on
the bed staring at the ceiling, part of him wanted to get up and go to Melissa. He was getting more confident with her, last week she’d let him take on the dominant role, she’d been his slave. He loved the power, but today he wanted to get back to why he joined the club in the first place, he couldn’t let these new desires distract him. His anger since seeing Tracey that day had been suppressed, he didn’t want Melissa picking up on it and stopping him carrying out his plan.

He had managed to get Melissa to show
him around the rest of the club, so he knew ways of going in and out without being seen. Plus he’d found out that the masters’ rooms didn’t have cameras. He’d also gone into some of the other rooms with other girls, and had seen that the cameras in those rooms all covered the same area. He’d loved trying out control and making the girls do things just for him, but was careful not to end up with Tracey, she would blow his cover.

He
’d gone over everything in his head, tweaking things over and over again until he knew it would work, he was just waiting for when he was sure Alex and Gary would be at the club, and he would be able to put his plan into motion.

Today was the day.

Chapter Thirty One

Alex had been with Gary
, or at Marie’s, nearly every day since that time with Harry. She wanted Gary to realize how much he meant to her and that she was willing to do anything to stay with him and show how strong their love was. They had stayed away from the club and spent some normal time together. Gary seemed happier, and the night with Harry became a distant memory.

Gary was becoming comfortable with Alex spending time with her fr
iends. He was letting go of his controlling fear of losing her to someone else.

Alex had become close friends
with Marie and loved spending evenings talking and laughing with her, more so since finding out about Marie’s other side. Alex now saw that she needed more than the club; she needed real friends who knew all about her life, both aspects of it. Gary had Ray, and Alex now had Marie.

Over the last two weeks Marie had been introducing Alex to
one of her passions. Alex didn’t really take it that seriously but didn’t want to upset Marie, even more so since Marie seemed to be more and more concerned about her.

Marie was really in
to paganism and witchcraft; she had her own altar set up and books upon books on the subject. Alex listened to her talk about enchantments and curses but was never completely convinced.

Marie had been on at her to let her try out another one of her enchantments, to help
ease the tension between her and Gary, a true-love binding spell or something like that, Marie believed it would keep them together forever, she had said “if I can’t work out what the trouble that is planned for you, I can at least help you and Gary in some way.”

Ma
rie didn’t really see the point, she and Gary were stronger than ever now, but she also didn’t want to disappoint her friend, so she agreed to go along with it. So Sunday night she went to Marie’s with a bag full of items requested by Marie: personal items of hers and Gary’s, along with other things such as a hair from each of their heads. Plus Alex brought wine, wine was always good on these occasions.

Alex sat in Marie’s room watching Marie mixing and binding things, not really understanding any of it, but she was happy to drink the wine and act as though her friend was doing her a great service.

S
moke rose from a bowl, and Marie chanted some words that Alex could hardly hear. Alex didn’t know if it was too much wine, or the fumes from the smoke, but she felt suddenly giddy, the room began to swirl around her.

The next thing she knew
was that Marie was standing over her tapping her cheek.

“You ok?” she asked.

“What happened?” said Alex groggily.

“Not sure, but I was
just finishing up and I turned round and you had collapsed, maybe it’s part of the magic,” said Marie helping Alex to sit up.

”Or maybe it’s too much wine
on an empty stomach,” laughed Alex.

“Sorry
I forgot the food, come let’s leave this and go and get something to eat, I can’t let you go back to Gary like this. He won’t let you visit me again,” said Marie with a laugh.

Gary isn’t that bad, you know, he just worries that’s all,” said Alex. They went into the kitchen, and ate a big salad and homemade bread, which Marie had prepared earlier.

That’s better: food and wine, and conversation with a good friend. Cheers!” said Alex.

“Cheers! Do you feel any different, since my enchantment?” asked Marie.

“No, I don’t think so, but maybe that means it worked,” said Alex not wanting to offend Marie.

“Well if not
, we will just have to try again another time.”

“Marie
, I think maybe we should just leave it. I appreciate that I have you to talk to, that’s a big help, believe me,” Alex smiled at her friend.

“You’re right, why mess with something that doesn’t need fixing, come let
’s watch a chick flick and drink some more wine,” laughed Marie.

Alex loved her new best friend.

On the way home in the taxi, Alex still felt strange, but didn’t read too much into it. When she got home the house was in darkness, Gary must have gone to bed. Alex went upstairs and found Gary lying in bed reading.

“How was your night?” Gary asked.

“You know Marie, trying one of her spells, or whatever, again. But we ended up eating some nice food and watching a film.”

“What was s
he trying to solve this time?” asked Gary laughing, as Alex came over to him.

“Us
, she wanted to do some sort of love spell,” said Alex.

“Love spell
? We don’t need a love spell do we?” said Gary pulling Alex down onto the bed.

“No we
don’t, but I didn’t want to upset Marie, so I played along. It was good to watch anyway,” she said and kissed Gary.

“I think you’ve had too much to drink, you look pale
,” said Gary pulling back from the kiss.

“More than likely, but since when has that stopped
us from catching up,” said Alex.

Gary
smiled and kissed her, this time it lasted longer, both of them closed their eyes and became lost in the kiss. Warmth ran from their lips and tingled throughout their whole bodies. They began to strip, still kissing, and soon they were making love.

When Alex woke up it was still dark out, she was wrapped around Gary who was asleep. She pulled free of him, her mouth was dry and she needed a drink of water. She went into the bathroom and ran the tap before filling a glass with water. She took a couple of sips and looked at herself in the mirror, she still looked pale.
Marie’s wacky smoke
, thought Alex, and went back into the bedroom and put the glass of water on the nightstand.

Gary opened his eyes and looked at Alex
. “What time is it?” he asked.

“It’s still early, I just needed a drink of water, go back to sleep
,” said Alex.

He sat up and switched
on the lamp and looked at her. “You sure you’re ok?” he asked.

“I’m fine it must have been that funny smoke at Marie’s,
I don’t think it agreed with me,” said Alex.

“It must be catching,
because my mouth is dry as well,” said Gary as he reached for Alex’s glass.

“Well at least she’s
done something then, maybe not quite what was supposed to happen,” said Gary. “Let’s get some sleep, we are going to the club in the morning.”

Alex
was soon fast asleep. It was late morning before they both woke up again, they never usually slept that long.

“We must have needed
some rest,” said Gary.

“Well I feel better than I did last night
,” said Alex, she was up and quickly getting her corset and stockings on.

Gar
y watched her getting dressed. “Alex, just wear the underwear and don’t bother with anything else. It means I can get going faster, with what I have in mind for today.” He had a cheeky glint in his eye.

“We
ll master I can’t wait either,” said Alex and grabbed one of his suit jackets and put it on. ”Just so I don’t get cold on the journey,” she explained.
