No less shocked than I am
, she thought.

“No?” Mikal asked. “Then allow me to escort you out.”

He pressed a kiss to the palm of Xyla’s hand before ushering
Mowee and Kith from her apartment.

She turned to Rish. “How?” she asked.

“After you fell asleep, Mikal and I discussed the
probability of your injury coming to light and the repercussions of your
failure to report it,” he said, leading her to the loveseat and sinking into
the plush cushions with her.

Mikal returned and sat on the other side of her. “We
believed we could resolve the situation before your boss took action, before
you even awoke this morning.” He skimmed his fingers over the side of her neck,
pausing right over the place where he’d left his mark. Her pulse quickened.
“Unfortunately, another bomb threat was called in just as we arrived on Uranus
and the court complexes were evacuated.”

“I realize we bungled this—”

“Bungled?” Xyla gave a short laugh. “You saved my job. My
adult status. And even though I can’t look after my mom anymore, at least I can
still visit her.”

“Actually…” Rish said, his deep voice trailing off.

Mikal cleared his throat and spoke to Rish. “I realize this
was mostly your doing as well, but I did pull some strings. At least let me
take credit for one thing in all this.”

Smiling, Rish said, “Go for it.”

“We received permission to move your mother to a private
mental health facility. She is en route to Silver Moon as we speak. You may
visit her there as often as you like.”

She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think.
Why did they do
this for me? Why go through all the trouble for a one-night stand?

Chapter Four

“You are many things to us—friend, lover, the woman of our
dreams.” Mikal leaned in and kissed the hickey he’d given her the night before.
“Even if you reject us, throw us out of your home, your life, you will never be
just a one-night stand. Not to us.”

Xyla looked between the two men. She hadn’t spoken her
questions aloud. She knew she hadn’t.
Ivec are mind readers?

“Only when we share an emotional bond.” Rish kissed the mark
he’d left on the other side of her neck.

Hunching in on herself, she swallowed past the lump in her
throat. “Is it something you can control or are my thoughts just there in your
head now that we’ve had sex?”

Both men smiled. Rish said, “We need an emotional bond, not
a physical one. And we could read your mind well before last night. We had
strong feelings for you back in school.”

“But to answer your question,” Mikal said, placing his hand
on her leg just above her knee. “We can block out your ordinary, calm thoughts
but those connected with intense feelings we hear almost as if they are our
own.”

Knowing they could hear her thoughts made her think of a
humiliating childhood memory. A group of girls laughed at her in elementary
school because the tabs on the back of her first brand new but cheap dress had
come undone, revealing her shabby underwear. The memory reminded her that she
wasn’t wearing any panties today because the act of social defiance had made
her feel brave. She pictured both men sliding their hands up her thighs, under
her miniskirt and coaxing her legs apart.

Rish and Mikal groaned.

She flushed. “Guess I was really feeling that one.”

“We’re feeling it too.” Mikal and Rish set their hands on
her upper thighs, just below the ruffled hem of her miniskirt. The warmth of
their hands soaked into her and made her shiver. They leaned in simultaneously
to kiss her throat once more, concentrating their attention on their hickies.

“Love bites,” Mikal corrected her. “They’re Ivec love
bites.”

“It’s only fair we get to taste you,” Rish said. “After all,
you now have Ivec blood in you.”

Xyla’s eyes grew big. She took a quick breath. Another.
“What do you mean?”

“Trade secret,” Mikal said. “But we know we can trust you.”

She raised her eyebrows and waited.

Rish said, “The ingredient in Celestial that extends a human
life is Ivec blood.”

“But we love no blood so well as human blood,” said Mikal.

As if to prove the point, Rish leaned in and bit her. Hard.
His canine teeth pierced her skin, but somehow it brought only pleasure. No
pain. As if his bite created a portal to the rest of her body. Her nipples
beaded. Her stomach quivered. Her pussy pulsed.

Not until the smell of copper hit her nose did she pull away
from him. Mikal, on the other side of her, stopped her from a full retreat.

A thick line of blood spilled down her neck.

“You— You’re.” She pressed a hand over her mouth, the other
over the wound. Ancient tales of blood-drinking monsters flashed through her
mind.
Vampires.

“Yes.” Mikal cradled her head in his hands and sank his
teeth into her throat.

“We’re a vampire race. Not monsters. We’ll never harm you.”
Rish forced her hand away from his bite and licked the blood from her throat
before latching on once more.

Xyla couldn’t process this right now. Her mind was frozen
with shock.

She groaned at the amazing feel of them at her throat. But
past the pleasure, her survival instinct kicked in and she fought them, pushing
at their chests, twisting away, trying to pull back.

“Stop,” she said, though her voice sounded weaker than her
feeble attempts to dislodge them. “Wait.”

Rish and Mikal stopped, their mouths still latched on to her
neck but no longer taking long pulls of her blood.

Mikal released his hold on her head and feathered his
fingers over her naked collarbone before rolling her tube top over her breasts
and down to her waist. Her body tingled in anticipation as he slowly traced
around her nipples and pinched each in turn.

Not to be outdone, Rish slid his hand up under her skirt and
nudged her legs apart so he could play with her pussy, sliding his fingers
through her feminine folds to caress the needful flesh at her innermost core.

A wave of singing bliss washed over her, drowning out her
doubts and fears, leaving in its wake a heady sense of emergent belonging, of
rising fulfillment, of burgeoning love. Her head listed back into the couch
cushion.

If this is what it felt like to make love with blood-sucking
monsters, she wanted it to never end. Maybe it was all the years she spent
lusting after them in school and then dreaming about them when they’d gone, but
here and now being with them seemed as though it had always been meant to be,
as if fate were real and she didn’t need faith or luck or even social success
to arrive at the place where she was meant to be with the people whom she was
meant to love. All Xyla had needed was her dreams and the courage to go after
them when an opportunity presented itself.

I trust them
, she realized.
With my body, blood
and life.

Neither leaving the font of her throat, they moved her so
she sat astride Rish, her skirt riding up around her waist with her tube top,
leaving everything but her midriff exposed to their touch. The pulls they took
from her slowed. Stopped. They licked the wounds on her neck and she knew her
blood had clotted when both men left her throat.

Rish kissed her mouth, tasting of blood and passion. Mikal
left the couch to kneel behind her, kissing down the length of her spine until
he reached the small of her back where he parted her cheeks to lick and stab at
the tight rosette there.

She broke Rish’s kiss and looked over her shoulder to watch
Mikal coat his finger in her generous juices and urge her to open for his single
digit. Consciously relaxing, she opened for him, allowing him to stretch her
hole. The thrust of his finger was more aggressive than Rish’s had been the
night before, more demanding of her accepting his invasion. And she loved every
hard dig, every swift retreat. The delicious burn made her whimper in delight.

Rish brought her attention back to him with a talented twist
of his fingers. She gasped and arched, placing her breasts level with his
mouth—just where she wanted them to be. As soon as she pictured Rish’s lips
closing over a nipple, he was there licking and sucking and nipping at her
tight little nubs.

I like this mind reading thing
,she decided.

“Yes, it’s a blessing when your mind is fixated on such
erotic ideas.” Mikal kissed and nipped at the lush curves of her hips and ass.
He added another finger to thrust into her to prepare her for his coming
invasion.

“And a curse when Mikal’s taking his sweet time prepping
your ass. Gods and Goddess, hurry up!” As if to emphasize his words, Rish
ground his thick cock against Xyla’s dripping pussy, swiveling his hips. She
clutched his shoulders and moaned.

Oh God.
She wanted him inside her.
Now. Now.

“Please,” she said. But she didn’t know what she was
pleading for—Rish to fill her pussy or Mikal to fill her ass. Both, always
both. They held equal parts of her heart, her body, her mind.

“No need to beg,” Rish said. “Your pleasure is our
pleasure.”

That said, they kissed and licked and touched every part of
her as if they were mapping out her body, claiming their property.

“Claiming our lover,” Mikal said. “If anyone owns anyone
here, it is you who own us, Xyla.”

She couldn’t respond. Not with their hands bringing every
nerve ending to ecstatic attention. Right now she was an all physical being,
incapable of higher cognition, a creature of carnal pleasures and lustful
thoughts.

Pulling Rish’s mouth away from her chest, she said, “I want
you inside me.
Please!

Rish didn’t hesitate to lift her hips, position himself at
her core and thrust up into her with one long, luscious stroke. She took all of
him into her and reveled at the feeling of complete fulfillment, complete
possession…and obsession.

After a few fevered thrusts, he slowed his pace and pulled
her against him, chest to chest to rest his chin on her shoulder. “I wish you
could read my mind so you’d know how hot it is for me to watch Mikal fuck your
ass with his fingers.”

She could hear the smile in Mikal’s voice when he replied,
“You think this is hot, just wait ’til I work my big cock into her—damn, she’s
tight.”

“I remember.” Rish’s voice was suddenly rough and an octave
lower than she’d ever heard it.

Their thrusting in front and behind grew faster, more
frenzied and her arousal quickened with their pace until she bucked wildly,
panting for breath, digging her nails into Rish’s thick biceps.

“Need. You. Mikal,” she panted. Rish’s thick cock in her
pussy made Mikal’s fingers in her ass seem a travesty, a sin.

“What do you need from me, lover?” Mikal withdrew his
fingers and stood, pressing his chest to her back, the long length of his
manhood to the crease of her ass. “I can see what you want in your mind’s eye,
but I want to hear you say the words.”

“Fuck my ass.” She gasped for breath. “Please. God. I need
you to fuck me.”

Mikal pushed her against Rish, who stilled, waiting on Mikal
who placed a hand in the middle of her back, then pressed the wide head of his
cock to her hole and pushed past the tight ring of muscle. A small dig that
left her breathless and waiting for more.

Rish reached between their bodies and pinched her clit. She
jerked in his arms. Trembled. Time seemed to jump ahead and circle on forever
as he circled, tested and teased until she broke apart in his arms, clenching
around both men, coming as if her life depended on every last drop of pleasure
being purged from her body. And it might. She just might die from an endorphin
overdose.

Rish smoothed her blonde curls out of her face, chuckling.
How he could laugh when he was still hard and hot inside her she didn’t know.
“You’re not going to die, Xyla. Not from an endorphin overdose, not from
anything. At least not for a very, very, very long time.”

She took a slow breath and released it. At last her muscles
relaxed and Mikal went deep. As far as she could take him. As far as he could
go. Rish gripped her hips and rocked into her, creating an ever increasing pace
that Mikal soon matched.

“Gods, you feel good.” Mikal kissed her throat over his bite
mark. “Better than I could ever imagine.”

“And he has a good imagination.” Rish pressed a soft kiss to
her lips, cupped her breasts.

Cries and moans escaped Xyla’s lips as she gloried in the
sensation of loving and being loved by two men. The emotional walls she’d
erected while they’d had sex last night had long since crumbled. Today each
touch, each kiss, each thrust seemed to bring not just their bodies but their
hearts and minds closer and closer together until she felt as if they had
become three parts of one being, a triple star clustered together, shining
brightly.

“You have such beautiful thoughts,” Mikal growled against
her ear as pumped in and out of her ass. “Your mind is what I love about you
the most.”

“And I.” Rish tweaked her nipples. “Though your breasts take
a close second.”

She dropped her head to Rish’s shoulder, breathless, lost
for words, giving herself over to them completely as her orgasm rose like a
living thing, a triumphant spirit possessing her, shaking her world as she
came.

And damned it for first the first time the poets’ flowery
descriptions of loving didn’t prove right—the heavens opened wide and bright
stars burst before her eyes. She threw her head back and screamed her release,
demanding theirs.

You are mine now
, she thought.

And though they could read her mind, they did not deny her
claim on them.

Or maybe they were too busy coming in hot waves, spurting
off inside her, filling her with the potential for life, the possibility of
starting the sort of family they had told her about in the sky bar because they
wanted to be a family with her.

Maybe, just maybe, this was her day.
