He pulled me up,
kissing me without hesitation before pressing his forehead flush with mine.
“Tonight was supposed to be about you.”

I took his hand
and brought it between my legs, enjoying the shocked look of desire on his
face. “It was considering how wet I am from sucking you.”

His entire body
shuddered. “God, you’re fucking perfect.” He smiled, slowly taking off my bra
then placing me at the end of the bed.

He rid himself
of the rest of his clothing, reaching into his suitcase for a leather bag and
returning to me on the bed. “I spent the entire time apart fantasizing about
what we’d do tonight. Thankfully London had quite the selection of toys.” He
pulled out a rather long, thick vibrator.

 “Uh, where’s
that going?”

His smile was
devilish. “For me to know, and you to find out very soon.”

He settled
between my legs, bending them at the knees, and then placed a pillow under the
small of my back. “Get comfortable because I intend on being down here a while.”

 “Ahh,” I moaned
loudly, shamelessly reveling in the sensation of his finger curling up inside
of me.

But when his
lips fastened around my clit, instead of bringing me to orgasm in record time,
he pulled back. I bucked my hips, needing more, only to have him take his time,
refusing to allow anything to go quickly.

Finally, when I
thought I could endure no more of the exquisite torture, I came apart under his
diabolical tongue, gasping when he inserted the device into my drenched sex. He
went slowly, allowing me to relax and take it all in. The vibrations made it
feel as though every nerve ending was alive. I watched, almost mesmerized,
while he moved the device in and out of me. When he met my gaze, it was the
most erotic thing I’d ever experienced.

He reached for a
small bottle, squirting something on his fingers before moving them lower to my
other entrance. One finger slipped past the muscle, massaging me there before
another joined. The sensation of being filled both ways had my eyes rolling
back in my head with unapologetic need. My hips arched, meeting his movements,
feeling him prep me with his fingers, working me deeper and adding another.
When his tongue descended on me, I was done for, shouting incoherently with my
release.

Removing his
fingers, he coated his length with lubrication and positioned himself.

“Tell me you
want this.”

“I do.” Biting
my lower lip, so completely turned on with the thought of him there, I hadn’t
realized I’d tensed up.

“Take a deep
breath, relax, and let me in.”

Doing as he
asked, I felt the initial burn give way to pleasure as he stretched me slowly.

Instead of
removing the vibrator, he moved it deeper. My breathing was erratic, matching
his when he moved forward, filling me completely to the hilt. He didn’t move
for the longest time, letting me adjust to his size and the foreign sensation.
“You all right?”

“Yes, I—wow. So
this is DP?”

“Yeah and it’s
even better than I imagined. Being the first to have every part of you is
just—I can’t even describe it.”

I was completely
filled, and when he started to move, holy shit, every brain synapse started to
fry. “Please…” Not knowing what I was begging for, I whimpered, thankful he
understood exactly what I needed.

Thrusting slowly
at first, he picked up the pace once I fully relaxed. The dual sensations
elevated my hunger to another level of craving. Craving what—I had no clue
except I felt on the precipice of something earth-shattering. It definitely
didn’t disappoint when I got there as bright light turned into a complete
blackout stupor while indescribable sounds were ripped from my throat.

“Talk to me Kenz.
You okay?” Colby’s gorgeous face etched with concern hovered over mine.

I gave him a
goofy smile and nodded. “I think my orgasm made me pass out.”

He looked
relieved. “I’d say so. You scared me.” He kissed me gently. “Come on, let’s
shower.”

My muscles were
like melted butter, my thoughts sleepy, so I was completely content to let him
put a shower cap over my hair and proceed to wash me intimately from head to
toe. After he took a turn, he dried us both and led me back out to the bed.

As he folded me
into him, a satisfied sigh came from my lips in the crook of his neck. “That
was incredible, but once again, I think I missed the part where I got to see if
you enjoyed it, too.”

“Any more, then
I would’ve blacked out too, and that could’ve been—uh, interesting.” He
chuckled, stroking my back. “You’re every fantasy wrapped up in a sassy
package.”

“Mm, I kind of
adore that compliment.”

We lay there for
the longest time, our breathing in sync and bodies entwined. My eyes were
heavy, my body completely sated.

His whisper came
in the dark. “Kenz?”

“Mm?”

“Do you love
me?”

I’d been about
to fall asleep but came wide awake with his words. “That question is a definite
relationship foul. You do not get to pass Go to collect your two hundred
dollars and must go directly to boyfriend jail, where you will no longer be
able to ask anything further.”

He laughed and
tilted my face, locking his eyes on mine. The moonlight streamed across the
bed, making the moment that much more intimate. “In my office the other day at
lunch, you said how you loved club sandwiches, then implied you feel more for
me.”

“And you sent me
red
roses, which could’ve implied something as well.” Damn, I was
getting defensive.

There was
amusement evident in his expression. “You’re really uncomfortable with my
question, aren’t you?”

“Let’s turn the
tables: do you love me?”

He hesitated
before answering. “I’m not sure how to answer, and maybe that’s why I’m asking.
I told you in the hospital that I loved you like a friend, and I always have,
so…”

I realized what
he was getting at. We weren’t in a relationship where we were developing
feelings from the start, but rather one in which friendship was evolving into
new territory. Problem was that I was way ahead of the game, considering how
I’d felt about him for the majority of my life. Given that fact, there was no
way I’d be the first one to admit anything. “Maybe the question isn’t about
love, but rather about being
in
love. Guess I never understood the
distinction until now.”

“That makes
sense. Can I use a
Get Out of Jail Free
card?”

I snuggled back
down onto his chest. “Only this once. We’ll blame it on the incredible sex
scrambling your brain or something.”

His arms banded
around me, holding me tight. “The thing is it didn’t freak me out to hear that
you might, you know, love me more than a club sandwich.”

I smiled in the
dark. “It didn’t freak me out, either, to think, you know, you might have sent
red roses on purpose.”

Although there
was no further talk surrounding the
L
-word, Colby made love to me the
morning after the premiere as if every touch, every kiss, and every breath was
proof that things had shifted between us into a more serious place.

The next evening
we settled in early for dinner and a movie in his theatre room. He was such a
fan of the classics, and it was fun to have a huge library to choose from.
Tonight’s feature was
Goodfellas
.

The sound of my
phone had me jumping up since I knew that my brother had proposed to Sasha
earlier tonight back in New York. “Hey, Brian,” I answered and noticed the
immediate withdrawal of Colby. It was as if he felt guilty about touching me
while I was talking to my brother.

“Hi, there.
Thought you might want to know, she said yes.”

My smile
couldn’t have been any bigger. “Congratulations. I’m really happy for the two
of you.”

“Thank you. I’ll
give you a call later this week. Love you.”

“Sounds good. I
love you too.” I hung up the phone grinning.

“I take it she
said yes?” Colby asked.

“Yeah. He seemed
anxious all week which was weird for him to be that way. Did your brother get
nervous when he proposed to Haylee?” I realized my mistake in asking the minute
his eyes met mine.

“He didn’t tell
me until after the fact, but I’m sure Brian and Mark knew. I’m grabbing another
beer. You want one?”

“Sure.” I
watched as he walked out, wishing Josh knew what it made his brother feel like
when he excluded him.

By the time
Colby returned, he was his normal self, but when his phone vibrated a few
minutes later, he tensed. “Hey, Josh.” He almost looked apprehensive about why
his brother might be calling tonight.

Affording him a
few minutes of privacy, I took our empty plates to the kitchen to clean up. As
soon as he came in after to find me, I asked, “Everything okay?”

“Yeah. Josh has
some sort of client meeting in Vegas next Friday and invited me to make it a
guys’ weekend for Brian. I’m sure he’ll invite Mark as well.”

“That kind of
sounds like a bachelor party.” Before he could comment, my phone buzzed with an
incoming text from Haylee. “Uh on second thought, we may need to call it an
engagement party. Can you keep a secret from my brother and yours?”

He appeared
intrigued when I handed him my phone, which had Haylee’s invitation:

“How do you feel
about crashing the boy’s weekend in Vegas to make it more of an engagement
celebration? It would be a surprise.”

“Guess you’d
better cancel the strippers,” I quipped.

He sighed in
annoyance. “Why do you think my brother was calling me just now? He wanted to
confirm I wouldn’t make it into a bachelor party by planning some wild weekend
to include exactly that.”

“Party pooper.
Doesn’t he realize it might be kind of fun to go to the strip club? I bet Sasha
and Haylee would enjoy it as much as I did.”

He instantly
smiled, pulling me in for a kiss. “Is it any wonder I’m crazy about you?”

I giggled. “So,
it looks like your guys’ weekend, aka not a bachelor party, may include a bunch
of women instead.”

“I’m sure Josh
and Brian would prefer that anyhow. You’re going, right?”

“Yeah, I think
so.” I leaned back, watching for his reaction to my next question. “What do you
think about telling people about us?” The thought of being in Vegas together,
but not as an actual couple, sounded like torture.

Trepidation
clouded his features. “This is a celebration, and as I said before, telling
them most likely won’t go well. I don’t want to take a chance it may spoil the
entire weekend when it’s supposed to be about Brian and Sasha.”

He had a point,
even if it was a disappointing one. “Selfishly. I was thinking about how I’ll
be able to keep my hands off you for an entire weekend. What about afterwards?”

“We’d have the
baptism two weeks later, which shouldn’t be overshadowed either. Why are you in
such a hurry all of a sudden? I thought we agreed we weren’t in a rush.”

I tried not to
let his attitude hurt my feelings. “We did, but with all these events coming
up, pretending in front of everyone seems deceptive.”

“Believe me when
I say it’ll be the least of their concerns once we tell them. It’ll be better
to get through the next few weeks, so that nothing causes any friction. Then I
promise I have every intention of talking to your brother.”

I realized the
timing might work out better for me, too, to wait after all. Considering my
mother thought I was staying out in California for a guy, it would be better
for me not to disclose the relationship until after I’d told her I wasn’t
moving home. I didn’t want her to correlate the two. “When you do, I could go
with you?”

He shook his
head. “I appreciate it, but this is a man-to-man type of conversation.”

I leaned in,
trailing kisses down the column of his throat. “That kind of turns me on.”

“You don’t say.”

“Mm-hmm, and I
think it may have earned you a striptease.”

“Ah you never
did put your Vegas education to good use. Lucky me.”

It was a good
change of subject, but in the back of my mind I was thinking that before he
went to have that talk with Brian, I needed to convince him it didn’t make a
difference to me what he may have to say. I might even have the courage by then
to tell him I definitely loved him more than a club sandwich.

If Colby
reminded me one more time that there would be absolutely no funny business or
sneaking around during this weekend in Vegas, I was going to scream. He was
beyond paranoid. Seriously, the guy made it sound like I was the one with the
problem of not being able to keep my hands to myself.

And just in case
he was right, I decided the best way to avoid jumping on him over the weekend was
to get as much out of our systems as possible during the days leading up.
