Authors: Meghan Quinn
The first day I saw you, you were eating dinner with your brother. When I saw you laughing with him, my heart ached because I was so damn jealous that the Sheila was in your company and I wasn’t. I was jealous of the Sheila! Imagine that. Thankfully, he chased after my sister, giving me the opportunity to get to know you.
I still thank my emotional sister for that opportunity. If she hadn’t run off, I don’t think I would have had enough nerve to approach the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
When I sat across from you and looked into your eyes, I was gone. Completely and utterly lost. I had never been in love before, but the way you looked at me, the way your eyes twinkled under the pub lights (romantic I know)…I knew at that moment, I was a changed man.
To this day, I can still feel the way your hand touched my arm that night and the way you invited me over to your place. I will never forget, Blaire. You are it for me. You are my forever and it is my goal in life to make sure that you are happy, whether I am in your life or not.
I love you.

No matter how hard she tried, Fiona couldn’t make herself turn to look at Booker…even though she wanted to, needed to. She needed to look him deeply in the eyes and get lost. She needed to be comforted, but she was so angry at their situation that she couldn’t forcer herself to turn to him.
Being the girlfriend of a major movie director wasn’t the easiest job. There were times she didn’t even see him in a day and it killed her. She was lonely, incredibly lonely. Her entire life she had three pesky brothers sticking their noses in her business and now…she had no one. She tried hanging out with Blaire, but she couldn’t hang out with her every day and, of course, Fiona didn’t have a job because, what would she do? Go wait tables at the local bar?
Taking pictures started to grow tiresome, since she wasn’t really able to go anywhere and there were only so many pictures she could take of the beach. Booker said she could take his cars anywhere she wanted, but she felt weird driving around in a strange place. She wished Booker was able to take her around more. They travelled a lot at the beginning when she first arrived in California, but now that he had to work, she was stuck to being her own tour guide and she was terrible at it.
Booker left her to herself out on the patio, probably not wanting to put up with her sour mood anymore. She watched the moon reflect off of the waves as they came crashing onto the beach. California really was beautiful, she had to admit that, but the need to return to Warblers Point grew with every passing day.
Not wanting to sulk anymore, she gathered her blanket and camera and walked into the house. She spotted Booker in the kitchen. He was shirtless, showing off the well-defined muscles in his back and gripping the counter top. He was leaning over something that Fiona couldn’t quite get a look at.
The smell of potatoes permeated the air and curiosity won out as she found herself walking towards Booker. She placed her camera and the blanket on the table before she stood behind Booker.
The sweatpants he was wearing sat low on his hips, letting Fiona know that he was wearing nothing underneath his low-riding sweats. A burning need took over her body as she placed both her hands on his back.
Booker nearly leapt onto the counter from being startled. “Christ, you scared me,” Booker said half laughing, half serious.
“Sorry.” Fiona tried to look over his shoulder but he was too tall. “What are you making?”
Booker stepped to the side and showed her what was in the bowl he was looking over. Fiona cringed her nose as she looked at what was in the bowl and then at the counter that was scattered with ingredients.
“Are those…instant potatoes?”
Booker shrugged. “I wanted to make you something that would remind you of home.”
Fiona hid the smile that was trying to make itself present.
“And you thought instant potatoes would remind me of home?”
“It was all the gas station had.”
A laugh escaped her mouth; she couldn’t help it. “If Mary Margaret knew you purchased instant potatoes, she would have my ass back in Warblers Point and as far away from you as possible before you had a chance to taste test them,” Fiona said with a smile, while stepping closer to him.
Booker smiled and put his hands on her hips. “Then, please God, don’t tell her. I couldn’t stand to lose you.”
His face was smiling, but his eyes had concern in them. Fiona knew they had been slipping away from each other, but she had no clue how to fix it. She didn’t want to lose Booker either. She lost him before and it was torture, but she also didn’t know how to get herself out of the rut she was living in, out of the depression she was experiencing.
Trying to lighten the mood from earlier, Fiona reached behind Booker, scooped up some of the instant mush and spread it over his chest. The smile of the devil ran across Booker’s face as he figured out what she was up to.
“You going to take care of that ma’am?”
“Depends, did you add garlic?”
“Enough to make us both regret making out later.”
“Tempting.”
Fiona leaned in close, parted her lips and started licking up the mashed potatoes she had spread across Booker’s bare chest. Once the mashed concoction hit her taste buds, she instantly pulled away.
“Oh God. That’s terrible.”
Her hand was covering her mouth as she looked up at Booker. They stared at each other before they both started laughing.
Booker leaned over and dipped his finger into the batch of instant potatoes. He sucked the white glob off his finger, turning Fiona on. There was something seriously wrong with her, but she couldn’t help it. When she saw Booker wrap those perfect lips around his finger and devour the mushy potatoes, it was strangely erotic.
“Fuck, that’s bad,” Booker said, while grabbing a bottle of water and chugging it down as quickly as possible. “Please don’t tell Mary Margaret.”
Feeling Frisky, Fiona leaned over, grabbed a handful of the potatoes and flung them at Booker’s chest. Pure shock stretched across his face as he looked down at the splatter job Fiona had just made.
Smiling, he looked back up at her and said, “Girl, you are in so much trouble.”
Fiona squealed as Booker chased after her with the bowl of potatoes in his hand.
“Get over here,” he said jokingly, as he held the mashed potatoes to his side.
“No way!”
“Fiona….”
“NO!” She laughed as she ran toward their bedroom. The loud footsteps of Booker chased after her, not giving her much chance to figure out her next move. She spotted the French doors that led out to the beach and started approaching them, right before she was grabbed around the waist and plopped on their bed.
Booker pushed her against the mattress and straddled her lap, the mashed potatoes still tucked under his arm.
“Booker…”
“It seems to me like you have been naughty, Miss. O’Leary.” Mashed potato dripped off his chest as he talked to her.
Right there, in that moment, Fiona knew why she was in love with Booker. No matter what kind of mood or state she was in, he always made her smile. Even if she hadn’t spent much time with him in a while, he never failed to remind her of the love they shared.
The mashed potatoes were set aside as Booker took Fiona’s shirt off as well as her bra, leaving her only in her yoga pants.
He was so quick, she didn’t even see it coming until a big plop echoed in the air and the warm feeling of overly seasoned mashed potatoes slipped down her skin. Booker held the upturned bowl over his head as he grinned down at Fiona. She knew shock was spread across her face from the audacity of the man hovering above her and to hell if she couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“You think that’s funny?” he asked, as he tossed the bowl to the side and started running his hands up and down her body, rubbing in the mashed potatoes and making an absolute mess.
What was once funny quickly turned into a sensual act. She knew she was crazy, but the way Booker caressed her breasts and the warm feeling of the mashed potatoes across her skin had her begging for him to take her pants off.
Booker noticed the change in her mood from the way her hips moved towards his and the way her head fell back. Thankfully, he took the hint and took care of the rest of their clothing. He stood above her before joining her back on the bed, which provided Fiona with a good look at his amazing body. Directors should not be that hot, she thought to herself as she took in the six pack that was on display and the nice little happy trail that led down to a very impressive erection.
Fiona wiggled her finger at Booker to come closer which, thankfully, he did because she needed his mouth on hers. The need that was throbbing between her legs was driving her insane.
Placing his entire weight on top of Fiona, she felt the ooze of mashed potatoes squeeze between their bare bodies and down her side. Fiona didn’t care anything about the mess. All she wanted was Booker; she didn’t care if they were caked in mashed potatoes…she needed him to love her.
His mouth slowly caressed hers, increasing the urge she felt between her legs and pushing away all the sad feelings she had before she walked back in the house. This was the Booker she loved, this was the reason why she was in California…to be with this glorious man who made her feel like she was the only woman on earth.
“Baby, I need you.”
“I need you too, Booker.” She wiggled under him, showing him her urgency.
Booker lifted Fiona so she was centered on the bed more and started licking her nipples, but quickly pulled away with a look of disgust on his face.
“Shit, babe, I can’t suck on your nipples right now. Those tots are freaking rank.”
Fiona chuckled, but then gripped his erection and started pumping him. “I don’t need you to suck me off, I need you inside me.”
Booker moaned as he leaned his forehead against hers while she continued to pump him.
“Stop!” he shouted, while pushing her hand away. “Give me a second.” He slightly laughed while shaking his head. “You are going to make me explode any second.”
“I don’t care,” Fiona said, as she surprisingly flipped Booker on his back and straddled his lap, fully inserting Booker into her warm center.
A blinding sensation flew through her body as she started to rock up and down Booker’s body. Mashed potatoes that were not already crusted on her body flew around as she frantically worked her body up and down Booker.
No one had ever made her feel the way Booker did when he was inside of her. It was an indescribable feeling that overtook her entire body. She lost all control of her emotions whenever they were connected so intimately.
Fiona leaned forward, adding a new angle to their pleasure. Booker thrust up into her as he hit a spot inside her she’d never felt before. The sensation was overwhelming.
“Oh God!” Fiona moaned, as she placed her lips on Booker’s, needing to have every last inch of their bodies touching.
Booker was frantic. His hips moved up and down as his hands roamed her body and his mouth explored hers, his tongue tangling with hers.
Everything exploded at that moment. She felt herself contract around Booker as she screamed his name and continued to work him up and down. Her legs went completely numb as her core seized from the pleasure that rocketed through her body. Booker followed her over and shook as he tried to regain his strength from their explosive connection.
Fiona collapsed on top of Booker and they both laughed when the remains of mashed potatoes flew to the sides of the bed.
Booker kissed her forehead and said, “You have some laundry to do.”
Fiona propped her head up and said, “Me? Oh no, I don’t think so.”
She started to get up, but Booker flipped her on her back and started attacking her with kisses, avoiding all mashed potato infested areas. She loved this man, so damn much.
Chapter 4
“How are you feeling today?”
She hated that question, absolutely despised it actually. How was she feeling? It was such an open-ended question. How was she supposed to describe how she was feeling when her entire life was hanging on by a thread? The medicine was supposed to help, but she didn’t feel any differently, she didn’t see any changes.
