“Fuck you,” I whisper back.

“I just might fuck you. Would you like that?” He pulls my hair back hard enough to cause me to yelp quietly. “Don’t make me put you on your knees. What would your employees think?”

“Scotty, don’t.”

“Tell me, goddammit.”

I know what he’ll do if I don’t give in. Even though I’m fighting the desire still within me that wants to let him control me, I just can’t let that happen in my office. I have no choice but to concede. “I’m yours,” I whisper, knowing it’s true but wishing it wasn’t.

“I know. Have dinner with me.”

“Scotty…”

“Alexa,” he says, staring into my eyes, “it’s obvious I wanted to see you or I wouldn’t be here right now. Just eat a fucking meal with me.”

“Okay, Scotty.” I don’t know why I’m saying yes, except that it seems I have no other option. I’m all at once freaked out and turned on to be in his space again.

He smiles and releases my hair, gently brushing his fingers against my cheek. “Good. We can talk and get back to doing what we do best.”

“Are you implying I’m going to have sex with you?” I ask.

“I’m not implying anything. This is what we do, Alexa.”

I feel my anger building. “You’re an arrogant bastard, you know that? You just come in here and think I’m just going to fall at your feet. You almost had me too,” I say, laughing dryly. “You just couldn’t pull it off. You couldn’t be nice for ten fucking minutes, could you?”

Scott narrows his eyes at me. “You know what you get with me, baby girl.”

“What if I don’t like it? I’ve changed my mind, Scott. I don’t think dinner is a good idea at all. I think it’s best if we just stay away from each other. That seemed to be working just fine for both of us,” I say, keeping my tone confident.

“Don’t make me prove you wrong, Alexa. I’m here for a reason.”

“Yeah to fuck me, in more ways than one. I want you to leave.”

He slides out of his suit jacket, setting it down on the chair beside him. I watch intently as he runs his hands through his hair, his jaw twitching. It’s so odd this demeanor he has right now. It’s like there is something on his mind but he just won’t say it.

“You’re forcing my hand, Alexa. You know I don’t like to be denied.” His tone has changed and I know I’m just seconds away from the exquisite control he uses over me. Shit.

“I don’t care anymore, Scott.”

“You will,” he says.

He moves in close again but I don’t resist this time, knowing it will only make it worse when he catches me. How the hell did I get into this position with him again? Before I know it, he’s pushed me against the large window behind my desk, his hand sliding up my skirt again. He’s silent as he presses against me, his hand tight against collarbone. I realize he’s about to fuck me standing up against the window in my office. And I’m about to let him. I listen as his zipper slides down, a mischievous grin across his face. “Scott, no. Not here.”

“It has to be here. You should’ve said yes to dinner, baby girl.”

I gasp as he pushes my panties to the side and enters me, so thick and hard, filling me to capacity. I close my eyes and soak in the pleasure. I know he isn’t going to be tender. He’s going to fuck me within an inch of my life. I brace myself as best I can against the glass window overlooking the city of London, hoping I’m not mooning the entire city.

He pounds into me with no more words. I grip his shoulders to support myself. He’s the only one that can do this to me, the only one I let do this to me. I’m completely submissive in his hands. I feel his body tightening around me and I know he’s about to come. I try to look into his eyes but they are shut tight, a departure from his normally intense eye contact.

“Look at me, Scotty.”

“Stop talking, Lexi.”

His eyes finally shoot open just as he grunts and releases into me. They are warm and soft and not at all what I am used to seeing from him. He pumps into me, slowing, as he catches his breath. He pulls out, causing me to wince from the sudden emptiness.

I watch as he grabs a few tissues from the box on my desk and cleans himself up, handing me a few in the process. I study his demeanor, confused. He’s oddly silent while he composes himself. Finally, he looks up at me.

“It was good to see you, Alexa,” he says entirely too casual for my liking. “Sure you won’t change your mind and see me tonight? There’s more where that came from.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?”

He cocks his head. “No, I’m not. It was nice to see you and even better to fuck you. No one has a pussy as sweet as you, baby girl. That’s for sure.”

“That’s it?” I ask, stunned. “This is how you’re going to act because I won’t eat dinner with you? Gee, don’t sweep me off my feet or anything.”

“Yeah, that’s it. I’m just me, Lexi. You were expecting something else?” He grins and I want to punch him in his goddamn throat.

“Get out and don’t come back here,” I demand.

“I’m leaving. I already got what I want.”

I reach up and slap his face, startled by my own outburst. His eyes widen and he rubs his cheek before the smile returns to his face.

“I’ll let you get away with that. I know it must be hard for you to know that I own you and I can have you whenever I want.”

“I never want to see you again, Scott Patrick.”

“Oh, but you will, Alexa. You will and I’ll decide when.” He leans forward and tries to kiss my cheek but I shove him away.

I stomp across my office and open the door. “Get out.”

He walks nonchalantly towards me, straightening his jacket. “Take care, Lexi.”

“Fuck off.”

I watch him walk out and then I make eye contact with a confused Martina. I am astounded by what just took place. He just had to pull that dom shit on me all over again as soon as he doesn’t get what he wants. Part of me wanted to run after him and ask him why he was acting so odd, but the rest of me knew I should stay away from him.

It broke my heart all over again to see him and I knew that he was right, he did own me. It didn’t help that I constantly saw him in industry mags with some slut du jour on his arm, just knowing they would fuck and how amazing that would be for her. I decided right then and there that no man would ever hold that kind of power over me again. Fuck Scott Patrick.

Alexa shakes her head to bring herself back to the present, Martina gazes at her anxiously. “I remember that,” Martina says. “So what now, boss?”

“I have no idea. Now we talk and try to figure things out. We’re going to go away for the weekend and just try to be normal without all the fighting and power trips.”

Martina nods. “And Braveheart? What of him?”

“I don’t know. I asked him to give me space but Scott went to talk to him about what happened last night. I have no idea if this whole thing will ruin their friendship.”

What Alexa really hoped is that Brett didn’t make things worse for her and Scotty. She didn’t really know what kind of man he was. He seemed so sweet and honorable and she really hoped it was true.

“I hope it works out for you and Scott. It’s obvious he makes you happy,” Martina says sweetly.

“In many ways he does. It’s just so unexpected. I have a lot to think about.”

“Don’t think too hard. Live in the moment!” Martina lifts her arms in the air like she was throwing confetti around, causing Alexa to actually laugh.

“You’re such a happy person, Martina. I wish I was more like you.”

“Maybe you will be after enough time with Scotty the hotty.”

Alexa laughs again. “We should get back to work. I am seriously slacking on my duties.”

“Right. I’ll refill your coffee and get back to my desk.”

“Thanks.”

Alexa tried to focus on her work but her thoughts kept drifting back to Scott’s admission of love. She knew something about him was different this time, but she never imagined it was that. It bothered her that his tendency was to dominate her if he felt like he wasn’t getting what he wanted and that made her uncomfortable. As good as it felt, she knew it was unhealthy for her and she refused to spend the rest of her life on her knees in front of Scott Patrick.

A few hours later, the direct line to her office phone rings. “Alexa Drake,” she answers.

“Scott Patrick,” Scott says laughing. “How’s your day, Lexi?”

She smiles at the sound of his voice. “Good. Productive. How about you?”

“Better now that I’m talking to you. What time do you get off of work? I’m ready to see you again.”

Alexa looks down at her watch. “I could be ready to go in forty-five minutes. What do you have in mind?”

“I have a lot of things in mind for you, but I’ll start with dinner. I’ll pick you up.”

“Sounds great. I’ll call Simon.”

“See you soon, baby girl.”

“Yep.” She hangs up the phone and sits for a moment while pure elation washes over her. She calls Simon and tells him he has the evening off and then wraps up her day. Just as she is shutting down her computer, an employee in her office, Patricia, appears in her doorway.

“Excuse me, Miss Drake? Martina said it was okay if I came back here.” Patricia stands nervously awaiting Alexa’s response.

“Sure. What did you need?” Alexa says, as cheerfully as possible.

“Um, well, I just wondered if you had a chance to look at my presentation yet?”

“Yes, and I made some notes. Just a few questions I have for you. We’ll set up some time tomorrow to chat, if that works for you?”

Patricia stares at Alexa as though she suddenly didn’t understand English. Alexa notices and realizes that she and Patricia have never had a direct conversation before.

“Is that acceptable, Patricia?” Alexa asks.

“Oh yes, yes, of course, Miss Drake.”

Alexa smiles softly. “Wonderful. I’ll have Martina check our calendars and find a time that works for both of us. From what I’ve seen, it looks very good.”

Patricia’s face breaks into a smile. “Thank you, Miss Drake.”

“Sure. See you tomorrow then.” Alexa watches as Patricia nods and scurries away from her office. For a moment, Alexa felt bad that she intimidated people so much. She knew it was necessary but she wondered if there was a happy medium. The fact that most of her employees avoided speaking to her if possible was likely a bad sign. Martina enters a moment later interrupting her thoughts, with Alexa’s coat and scarf.

“Are you seeing Scott again this evening, Alexa?”

“I am. In fact, he’s on his way now to pick me up.” Alexa grins knowing Martina is freaking out to see her this happy.

“Well then, I hope you’ll have an exciting story for me tomorrow.” Martina winks and hands Alexa her coat.

Both women look up at the sound of a small knock on the door. “May I come in?” Scott’s sexy voice permeates the room.

Alexa notices a crimson flush creeping onto Martina’s cheeks. “Yes, of course.” Alexa answers.

Martina shuffles out of the way as Scott walks confidently towards Alexa, pausing to kiss her sweetly on the mouth. “It’s cold out there, baby girl. Bundle up.”

Alexa wraps her scarf around her neck and grabs her handbag from her desk. “See you tomorrow, Martina. Thanks for today.”

“You’re welcome, boss,” she quietly murmurs while staring at Scott.

Scott smiles and winks at her and Alexa is sure the poor girl just creamed herself. She stifles a laugh as they head for the elevators, the entire office staring once again.

“Well, it seems my presence is very interesting to your employees,” Scott says as he pushes the down button.

“It would seem that way. Honestly, they’ve never seen me with a man, and sadly they’ve probably never seen me with a smile on my face.”

He reaches up and rubs her cheek before they step onto the elevator. “That’s my fault.” Alexa shrugs her shoulders. “Lexi, I meant what I said about starting over. I want to make up for all the hurt I’ve caused you.”

“I know you meant it.”

“I did hurt you, didn’t I?”

“Very much,” she whispers.

“So it must mean you have feelings for me too?”

She doesn’t say anything as they reach the bottom floor and step out into the lobby. Scott takes her hand in his and leads her to his car. Opening her door, he kisses the top of her head before she slides into her seat. He climbs in the driver’s side and stares at her for a moment.

“You didn’t answer me yet,” he says.

“I know, Scotty. It’s a tough question. When we were together in New York you were my entire world. I would have done anything for you. I was happy. Then when you broke it off with me, I just… I just shut down. Nothing mattered and I focused on my career. I went about the task of getting over you.”

“Did you?”

Alexa turns and looks at him. “Obviously no. I let you fuck me in my office six months ago, I let you finger me five days ago, I got on my knees in front of you… I think it’s safe to say that I’m not over you.”
