“
You are a Jezebel.” His
mouth was so soft and pliant that I had trouble holding my thoughts
together. I heard a roaring in my ears and slowly became aware that
he was starting to laugh. He didn’t stop kissing me, mind you, but
he was laughing while he did it. I can’t say I minded the
sensation.
“
What is so funny?” I
demanded.
“
If you wanted to keep
this to yourself,” Shep said, “you probably should have gotten in
the back seat with your friend.”
I looked up and saw them lined up
behind the fence: dozens and dozens of prisoners, watching our
every move. They were cheering and shouting, yelling at me to kiss
him again, hooting and hollering at me to grab his ass. Hell, they
were suggesting things not even I had heard of in my
prime.
“
Good lord,” I said to
Shep. “Did you hear what that woman just suggested you do to
me?”
“
I certainly did,” Shep
confessed. “What say we go back to my cabin and give it a
try?”
Well, wasn’t he full of surprises?
Maybe those days trapped behind bars would turn out to be worth it
after all.
“
Okay,” I agreed. “You’re
on. But you might want to eat your Wheaties first.”
“
I’ll eat a whole damn box
of them,” Shep promised. “Just you wait.”
