Hour three

The sound of cheers fadeS away and

everything goes eerily quiet again as we enter the third cavern called the “Waters of Osiris.” See that mummified body on the craggy bank? That’s where our night boat is headed. We will moor beside it, and Ra will summon it to life before your eyes. But don’t worry. It’s just Osiris, my dad, the head god of the underworld.

Osiris actually
lives
down here, so Ra isn’t actually bringing him back from the dead. His summons is more of a ritual affirmation of my dad’s place on the boat, and the important role he plays in battling Apophis.
