You kind of understand. You’re worried he’s lying and seeing some other girl. Admit it.

I ignored my internal commentary because it was only succeeding in bringing me down.

I texted back.
Yes. I have.

Do tell.

What’s there to say?

How many fingers do you prefer?

I puffed out my cheeks as I replied,
To be honest I never really enjoyed it. So none, I guess. I prefer fingers stay on the outside of me.

We will have to rectify that, Jane.

I clenched my legs together.
Aren’t you supposed to be hanging out with August?

You sly little bitch. You want to know if he’s really with August or out and about with some pretty blonde haired bimbo.

Checking up on me, Janie?

NO.

Heh. Well, I’m with August who’s being a pain in the ass if you must know. We just got done watching a lame ass TV show and I miss you. I’d rather be with you than here.

Holy crap. Say you miss him too! Say it!

Well, I hope everything’s ok there.

It will be. Now tell me something really naughty so I can pretend like you’re here and fall asleep.

I glanced at my bed stand table and the erotica book lying on top of it. I grabbed it and opened it to a particularly steamy scene.

Before I could think too much about it, I paraphrased
a scene from the book and typed out:

I want you to bend me over the couch and fuck me, Adrian. I want to feel your cock slide inside of me inch by inch as you take me hard, so hard that I can’t stop screaming your name. I want to hear our skin slapping against each other’s. I want to make you come so hard that you’ll never forget me. And when we’re done, I’m going to lick you clean until you get hard again. I want you Adrian. I want you so bad.

I hit send and nearly had a heart attack as I waited for his response. Two minutes later he wrote back:

Well shit, Jane. I’m going to be imagining that for months. Holy fuck.

And two minutes later…

I just snuck into the bathroom to jack off, thank you very much. Now I’m fucking exhausted. Shit, I want to come home.

Feeling brave once more I wrote
I want you to come home too.

Soon. Very soon. Goodnight, Janie.

I smiled widely as I kissed my paperback book.

Thank you, Erotica.

Chapter Nine

“So you have a date coming up, right?” Sadie asked over the phone.

I’d almost forgotten and sighed heavily. “Yeah. This weekend.”

“You mean tomorrow?”

I paused before mentally tallying up the days. “Yeah, you’re right. Crap. I lost track of time.”

Sadie snorted in the earpiece. “That’s the luxury of being unemployed. One day just bleeds into the next. So you excited?”

“I don’t know,” I said, walking up my stairs and into my spare room, glancing at the painting of Adrian as I did so. “I’ve been a little preoccupied.”

“With Adrian?”

“Yeah.”

“And who’s that?”

“My next door neighbor,” I said, walking over to the window and glancing out. It was March and the buds on the trees were starting to bloom. It really was the prettiest time of the year.

“Your neighbor and Adrian are the same person? But I thought you hated your neighbor?”

“I did, but now we’re…I don’t know…we’re friends.”

“Friends? You have to send me a picture of him. Is he hot?”

“Yeah, he’s hot. Really, outrageously hot.”

“Oh my god. Maybe you should take your profile off the dating site then…”

“No. No. I’m going to keep my options open,” I said as a beep resounded in my ear, indicating I had a text message. I
already knew who it was from.

“Fine, but you need to make sure you call me after your date with…well, with whatever his name is, okay?”

“Yeah, will do.”

Sadie and I talked for a few more minutes before we hung up. I glanced down at my phone and shook my head.
The text was from Adrian, as I’d suspected.

Who’s hot?

Stop eavesdropping on my conversations.

I’m getting irrationally jealous. Who’s hot? I couldn’t make out a name.

I giggled before typing,
Yeah I’m sure you are. And I’m not telling.

I didn’t want to tell him because his head was already big enough as it was.

When Adrian didn’t respond, I typed,
You coming over???

Only if you reveal your little secret.

Nope. Nope.

Then I’m not coming over.

Stop being such a baby.

When he didn’t reply I added,
If you don’t come over then who am I going to make out with?

Not even two second later my phone buzzed.
Be there in ten.

As I waited for Adrian to come over, I opened my laptop and checked to see who my date was for this weekend. His name was Harrison and he looked semi-decent in his profile picture. Perhaps
he was going to be my knight in shinning armor.

Shut up. Adrian is your knight in shinning armor. You want him
, not Harry.

“It’s Harrison,” I muttered as my front door opened.

I slapped my laptop shut, feeling suddenly guilty. Adrian’s eyebrows rose as he strode over to me.

“Sneaking around?” he asked, pushing me off my chair with his hips b
efore bringing me onto his lap.

He pulled open my laptop and his eyes narrowed. “Another date, huh?”

“Yeah, tomorrow,” I said, not even bothering to hide my disappointment.

Adrian clicked on his picture. “Kind of a weird looking dude.”

“He looks nice,” I replied, shutting the laptop. “And I’m excited to meet him.”

“Yeah
, you sound
so
excited.”

“I am,” I replied as Adrian’s lips slowly caressed my ear.

“He will probably regale you with tales of his office job.”

“I like stories about office jobs. Maybe he’s like Jim from
The Office
.”

“Or Dwight,” he replied, his tongue sliding into my ear and I nearly moaned.

“Dwight makes the show and he’s hilarious.”

Adrian’s hands slipped down my stomach, settling between my thighs.

“But I doubt Dwight will make you this hot,” he said, his finger sliding between my legs.

“Is that a dare?” I nearly whispered as Adrian bit down lightly on my neck.

“No, not a dare. I just don’t think you should go out with Harrison the Loser, Jane. He’s not your type. I bet he will talk about how he lives with his mother and how she makes him his favorite meal every night…”

I reluctantly turned my body on his lap, dislodging his delicious finger from between my legs and faced him. “I don’t need you making me doubt this guy before I even meet him, Adrian. You did that with Rich…”

“Rob,” Adrian said with a small smile and I fought back a smile.

“…you did that with
Rob
and I don’t need you doing it with Harrison.”

Adrian shrugged and moved me off him so he could stand up. “So, since we’re not discussing your love life and how you’re going on another date with another douche bag, how about we discuss something else…”

“Like?” I said, my sexual frustration reaching a boiling point. It was incredibly hot inside my house all of a sudden.

“Like who’s the hot guy you were yammering about on the phone.”

I turned away and walked to the door, not wanting to discuss it. I really needed to cool off. Obviously Adrian’s little ministrations to my nether regions hadn’t bothered him at all because he looked as cool as a cucumber.

“Where are you going? I thought we were going to make out,” Adrian replied, adjusting his pants slightly.

Ah, so not as cool as you thought.

“Making out can wait. I’m going for a walk,” I replied, needing to move out of the house before I mauled him.

“It’s fucking cold outside.”

I ignored him and pulled on a sweater. “Well, either grab something warmer to wear or stay here and sulk. I’m going for a walk.”

Adrian sighed heavily before jogging to his house and returning a moment later with a jacket.

“I hate walks,” he muttered as we made our way toward the nearby park.

“What would you rather do? Run?”

“I’d rather be having sex. It’s a great workout. My body’s growing flabby from my lack of exercise.”

I nudged him with my elbow. “What you really need to do is exercise some control.”

“I have plenty of control,” he replied with a frown. “If you only knew how much control I have.”

He shook his head before placing his hands in his pockets and lowering his head. Just being outside and not in an enclosed space with Adrian made my body temperature plummet. It was cooler outside than I’d realized and I shivered.

“I told you it was fucking cold,” Adrian said, a smir
k in his voice as we neared our destination.

“Yeah, well a walk was what I needed.”

“A make out session is what I needed, but I got suckered into following you around this damn park. If I get mugged, I’ll never forgive you.”

“Oh please, we’re totally safe. Stop being such a baby.”

“That is the second time you’ve called me that.”

I stopped walking near the large lake that covered half the park. Large trees loomed above us and shadows from the moon cloaked us in dusk.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” I asked, turning to look at the lake before peering up at Adrian. He was watching me, something foreign in his eyes.

“If you think creepy parks in the middle of the night are beautiful, then yeah, I guess it is.”

I pushed at his chest. “You’re such a pessimist.”

“I’m just grumpy because I’m horny, but I’m about to rectify that.”

I shivered again, but this time it wasn’t from the cold. Adrian’s arms were suddenly wrapped around me and I was pulled into him. He didn’t say anything else as he lowered his lips onto mine, and neither did I. Instead I just moaned softly as my tongue slid into his mouth and as his fingers fumbled with my sweatshirt. Finally, sweet relief, his cold hands slid against my warm skin and I arched back, pushing my breasts into his chest.

“Shit,” Adrian muttered against my lips, his fingers sliding down my pants and grabbing onto my bare ass.

His touch ignited something in me and I deepened our kiss, our teeth clashing together as he thrust against me. I no longer cared that we were in public, that someone could happen upon us. All I cared about was getting closer to him, feeling him against me, on me, inside of me. So this is what Adrian meant.

I scrabbled around for his zipper and finally got it down before unbuttoning his pants. Reaching in, I wrapped my hand around his cock and Adrian groaned loudly against my neck as his lips kissed a sloppy trail down it.

“You make me crazy…I’m fucking so into this,” he muttered against my skin.

I slid my fist up and down his length as he bit down on my neck, all speech frozen
in time. Our movements weren’t though. They were frenzied, uninhibited and watching Adrian lose control was quite possibly the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. When he came into my palm, he was shaking so hard I had to hold him up.

“Holy hell,” he said hoarsely. “What are you doing to me?”

“I’m not doing anything…you started it,” I said with a grin, wanting him to make me come too, but unsure of how to initiate it.

Just ask him, dummy.

Adrian lifted his head from my shoulder and stared down at me. “I haven’t done that in a long time.”

“What’s that?” I asked, pulling a Kleenex from my purse and wiping my hand clean.

“Masturbated in a public place.”

“Wait, what? You’ve masturbated in a public place before?”

“Don’t look at me like I’m a pervert. Every guy needs to get off and sometimes the urge happens when you least expect it.” Adrian said as he slumped against a tree. “Now come over here and spread your legs. I’m going to make you come.”

I shuddered at his command, but didn’t move forward.

Go. This is what you want. Move toward him!

Instead I gestured toward the house.
“How about we just head back?”

Adrian slanted me a look. “You’re not the least bit turned on by all that?”

I shrugged, lying as I did so. I wanted him, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to admit it. To be honest, I was scared more than anything.

“How about you tell me the different places you’ve masturbated,” I suggested instead.

“Man, you’re a hard nut to crack, Janie. Why are you so resistant to this?” he asked, waving at the space between us.

“I don’t know. I guess I don’t need it like you do.” That was another lie. I’d had an ache between my legs for days now that wouldn’t go away.

“I doubt that, but hey, if you want to keep foolin’ yourself than be my guest. But right now, let’s go home. It’s fucking cold out here.”

We walked side by side in silence as we made our way out of the park in the dark.

“Can I hold your hand?” Adrian asked after a few minutes of silence.

His question had my heart flopping excitedly in my chest. “I take
it you don’t normally hold hands?”

“Never.”

I smiled inwardly as I laced my fingers with his. “Another first then?”

“Yeah,” he replied as we walked slowly down the street. His thumb was brushing over the back of my hand and my entire body had broken out in goose bumps.

“You want to stay over?” Adrian asked when we finally arrived home.

“I have a date tomorrow,” I said glancing at his door.

“So? That means nothing.

“Yeah it does,” I replied defensively. “What if he’s my prince charming? How am I supposed to explain us?”

Adrian looked down at me, something wary flashing through his eyes before disappearing entirely. Although his hand did retain a tight grip on mine.

“Janie,” he said with con
fidence, “I promise you the guy is going to be a total bore. He’s not your prince charming. So come sleep with me tonight. You still owe me a make out session and maybe I can get that inner sex-god out of you once more. Because when she comes out, she’s irresistible,” he said, pulling me toward his front door.

And I didn’t pull away because I wanted that too.

I wanted to be as inhibited as he was.

***

When we got upstairs, Adrian handed me a shirt to change into.

“Where are my bottoms?” I asked.

“Easier access,” he replied with a shrug, pulling off his shirt.

“What do you think we’re going to do here?”

“I don’t know, but I can tell you what I’m hoping for.”

My lips twitched as I began to walk toward the bathroom to change.

“Where are you going?” Adrian asked, his eyes following my movements.

“To change,” I replied.

“Janie, I’ve seen you naked. You’ve seen me naked. You’ve had my cum on your hands. Can’t you just change in front of me?”
