"Why not?" Brady protested. "That was the best part of your presentation!"

Cameron studied his son suspiciously. "I thought you didn't hear my speech."

"Oh, I might have caught part of it," Brady admitted.

GP yawned theatrically. "I don't know about the rest of you, but Suzanne's all done in.
This has been a long day."

Royce offered his arm to GP. "May I escort you? As far as your door, of course."

"Of course," she said. "You're a gentleman. What a pity." Over her shoulder, she said, "I
won't ask where the rest of you are sleeping. You're all consenting adults." She paused and
rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "
Consenting Adults?
That's not bad! I think I just found
the name for my next novel."

Everyone understood perfectly. If you were a writer, truly a writer, then no matter what
things came your way--good, bad or indifferent--there was only one thing that ever really
mattered.
