Nick shrugged. “Let’s forget about her. We’ve got five hours left to enjoy this tropical sun.”

Terrah exhaled as he wrapped his arms around her, trying to ignore the niggling feeling that Nick wasn’t sharing what was really on his mind.

“Just five hours left? The time just flew by.”

“I know and, sadly, waiting for you to pack up all this stuff is probably going to suck up
four
of those five hours.”

Terrah wrenched out of his arms with a mock indignant look. “Will not! You go get those mimosas and I’ll show you how to fold and stuff all of this”—she waved at the shopping bags and clothing on the bed—“in less than an hour.”

Nick scoffed. “Less than an hour?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“Bet.”

“What are we betting?”

“You naked, wearing only those new gold heels you just bought, while I—”

“Bad boy!” Terrah tapped him on his chest. “Trying to tempt me to lose on purpose.”

Nick gave her a slow, sexy grin. “You can make a wager of your own.”

“I will. If I succeed in packing in under an hour, you have to give me a full body massage.”

“Oooh…this is
my
kind of bet. It’s a deal.”

Terrah laughed as he held out his hand and they shook on it.

“Okay.” Nick glanced at his watch. “It’s eleven thirty-two and the clock…starts now.”

Terrah followed him to the door. “Go get those drinks, but don’t take too long. I’m looking forward to my massage. Take my key card so you can get back in.”

She winked at him as he took the card from her.

“Are you sure you want to win this bet?”

The wickedly sensual glint in his gaze made her pause for a split second.

“I don’t like to lose.”

Nick stared at her for a moment before nodding slowly. “I’ll be back.”

Terrah waited until he was out of the door to exhale with a wanton grin.

“To lose or not to lose… What’s a girl to choose?”

She smiled as she headed towards the clothes on the bed, ready to impress Nick with her packing skills. Humming to herself, Terrah lifted her suitcase onto the comforter and started rolling her clothing and arranging each neatly tucked roll inside.

Twenty-four minutes later, she was just about done. Her large suitcase was locked and sitting by the front door. She still needed to pack her shoes, but there was no way the two new pairs she’d just bought were going to fit into her suitcase.

I’ll have to carry them on the plane.

Her eyes drifted to the shopping bag still lying on the floor by the door. She walked over to the bag, picked it up and brought it over to the bed. Sitting it down, she took out the shoe box, opened it and admired the gold heels nestled inside. She needed to finish packing. When Nick got back she was going to prove him wrong.

Terrah imagined the shoes calling to her, beckoning for her to try them on one more time. Unable to resist, she wrapped her hand around the heels and took them out of the box. She slipped them onto her feet, stood up and sauntered over to the full-length mirror. The hemline of the yellow wrap dress she was wearing was a little shorter than she would normally wear, and her legs looked fantastic in the sexy three-inch heels.

To hell with winning the bet—she wanted Nick to see her in the shoes again. Decision made, Terrah pulled the sash on her dress and took it off. She turned to the side, checking out her body in the lemon-coloured bra and thong she was wearing. Her brown skin had taken on a warmer glow from the Hawaiian sun, and the bright yellow shade stood out. Terrah cupped her breasts in the demi-cut bra and imagined Nick’s hands on her body.

She rubbed her hardening nipples through the soft fabric and moaned softly.

Nick would love seeing her dressed like this.

The sound of the key card sliding into the lock drew her attention away from the mirror. She turned her head to see him walk in, and her heart leapt in her chest as his gaze ran over her from head to toe. He placed the drinks on the side table by the door before casting a quick glance to the few articles of clothing left on the bed and the unpacked shoes on the floor. Terrah stood still as he studied her in predatory silence.

“You lose.”

His gruff voice sent a shiver of anticipation down her spine as she slowly nodded.

“I know.”

“Get over here.”

Those three words made her wet. Terrah took her time coming to him, revelling in the hunger evident in his eyes. She kept her gaze on his face, swaying her hips with each step she took towards him in her new heels.

This time, she didn’t mind losing.

Chapter Eighteen

Nick gritted his teeth. Terrah was killing him with her little seductive walk. Her breasts were practically spilling out of her lacy bra, begging to be played with. His eyes cut to the mirror behind her, and the reflection of her ample ass made him rock hard. She was delicious, and he wanted her even more than he had the first time they’d met.

Cravings are addictive.
Terrah’s teasing words rang in his ears.

Hell, he
was
addicted and he didn’t want a cure.

“I can tell that you’ve been working hard.”

Terrah nodded, her eyes on his. “Yes, but I still lost the bet.”

She wanted him to take her. He could see it in her eyes.

“Turn around.”

She obeyed, pivoting slowly enough for him to see her curves from every angle. He stopped her when she turned for a second time, so that her back was to him. After unhooking her bra, he came up close behind her and brought his hands up to cup her breasts. He toyed with the hard nipples, enjoying her low moan as he lightly tugged on the sensitive tips.

“I think you still deserve that massage.”

Terrah answered by rubbing her rounded ass cheeks on his denim-covered cock. He didn’t have to slip his hand into her panties to know she was already wet.

“I brought you something.”

“Mmm…what is it?”

Nick pulled out the bottle of vanilla-scented massage oil in his back pocket. He popped open the lid, brought it to Terrah’s nose and squeezed it slightly so she could smell the heady scent.

“Oh, that smells so good.”

Nick kissed her neck, squeezing her tightly with one arm before releasing her. “Go lie down for me.”

He waited for her to lie on her stomach, and his engorged cock twitched at the beautiful sight of her stretched out on the white sheets. She turned her face to him and watched him strip out of his T-shirt, jeans and underwear. He walked to her, loving the desire evident in her gaze, which ran over his body to settle on his bobbing erection. As much as he wanted to slip into her wet, tight heat, he was going to make them both wait.

He got on the bed and straddled her legs, resisting the urge to slide his fingers past her panties and into her pussy. Instead, he squeezed a generous dollop of the vanilla-scented oil onto her bare back and rubbed his hands over her skin. The oil seemed to shimmer as he worked it into her skin in gentle, circular strokes.

“You’ve got amazing hands, Nick.”

Her soft compliment brought a smile to his lips.

“Thank you.” Nick continued to massage her. “You’ve got gorgeous skin.”

Her eyelids fluttered closed as she grinned. “Thank you.”

Nick pushed his hands up along her spine, over her shoulder blades and back again. His gaze fell on the yellow thong showcasing her ass, tempting him with its lusciousness. He pulled the thong down, squirted more oil on the rounded cheeks and rubbed the shiny liquid around and in between her ass cheeks. Terrah stiffened as he glided his finger over her anus. He heard her breath hitch in her throat as he touched her tiny virgin hole drenched in oil.

“No—”

“Shh…”

He pushed one slick finger into her ass and Terrah gasped.

“Nick!”

He answered her by sliding his finger in even further, pushing it in and out in slow strokes as Terrah gripped the sheets in her fists.

Later he’d show her how good anal could be, but he couldn’t wait another minute to sink into her. He pulled his finger out, moved off her legs and reached for the condom on the bedside table. After ripping the foil package with his teeth, he quickly sheathed himself.

“Turn over.”

She obliged, pushing her thong down and off. “Are you going to fuck me now?”

Her voice was husky and seductive as she bent her knees to take off her heels.

“Leave the shoes on.”

Terrah left the straps on the heels alone and fondled her breasts instead. “I want you so bad, I ache inside.”

“I’m going take care of that right now.”

He inhaled sharply as she reached out and touched his dick.

“I changed my mind.”

“What?”

“Go back on your belly.”

Terrah hesitated, her eyes falling to his cock. “You’re not going to—“

“Trust me, Terrah.”

She held his gaze for a split second longer before rolling over onto her stomach. Nick straddled her thighs on his knees and palmed her ass with both hands before guiding the tip of his dick into her wet pussy. Her bottom against his skin was divine, the feel of her tight, slippery sheath around his erection beyond words. He forced himself to slow down, giving Terrah slow, measured thrusts as he watched her grip the sheets beneath them. Her moans of bliss made him speed up as he smacked one of her juicy ass cheeks.

Terrah cried out, and Nick knew it was more from shock than pain as he slid his index finger in between her cheeks to her puckered hole. With his next stroke he breached her virgin ass again, pushed his finger in as far as it would go. He finger-fucked her in tandem with his cock, faster and deeper. Terrah’s cries intensified and her body went rigid, then quivered around his cock and he knew she’d come. The sensation of her soaked walls milking his dick set off his own ripcord release.

Ripples of pleasure made him groan as he shuddered against her soft body. A bead of his sweat fell onto Terrah’s back, and he rubbed it away after the last orgasmic aftershock unwound through him. He slipped from her body and pressed a kiss against her shoulder as he lay beside her, still breathing hard. Terrah turned on her side, moving back so her body was nestled against his. She felt perfect in his arms as he placed his arm over hers, hugging her tightly.

He didn’t ever want to let her go.

Tell her.

“I’ve been spoiled by the Hawaiian sun, and you.” Terrah let out a tiny sigh as she stroked his arm. “I don’t want to go back to the real world.”

“I know.”

Neither do I.

Especially after learning that Jocelyn was planning on keeping the baby that could possibly be his. The very thought of sharing a child with Jocelyn riddled him with anxiety.

Nick pulled Terrah closer to him and an image of
her
carrying his child popped into his mind. The idea did not make him uneasy.

The realisation of that thought confirmed what he already knew.

He had completely fallen for Terrah.

* * * *

Terrah placed her coffee mug on the kitchen counter, preparing to pour another cup as she absently listened to the television in the living room. It had been almost two weeks since she’d got back from Hawaii and she still didn’t feel like she was back in the swing of things. Her work hadn’t suffered, but she was distracted.

She was in love.

Terrah could no longer deny it to herself. The irrational emotion hadn’t changed, no matter how many times she’d tried to psychoanalyse her feelings. She’d completely lost her heart to Nick, somewhere between the mango mimosas and having a little fun in the Hawaiian sun.

On top of coming to grips with that emotional doozy, she was still concerned about the photos of her kissing Nick turning up somewhere. Every day that passed gave her a false sense of hope that they’d never show up, even when she knew that was just wishful thinking. Somehow those photos were going to be made public. It was just a matter of time and it was not knowing when or how they’d be shared that bothered her the most.

Nick and the photos…those were the only two subjects she seemed to be thinking about. At the oddest moments, she’d recall the wonderful time she’d had in Hawaii with him, and it only took an uninterrupted minute before erotic images of the two of them together would replay in her mind.

She’d wondered how things would change between them when they got back, knowing how hurt she was going to be if all they’d shared had really been a fling. Nick had erased her fears, managing to call her from Milan at least briefly every day since they had returned from the island.

Terrah smiled with the mug at her lips as she thought about their late-night conversations on the phone. He was the only man she’d ever been with who could make her laugh about nothing, and she couldn’t wait to see him. She missed him like crazy.

Heaven knew she
craved
him like crazy.

Every time she’d talked to him on the phone she’d been so close to saying ‘I love you’ right before they’d hung up, but had decided at the last second to wait and say it in person.

Bull. You’re scared.

The grin on her face faded as she blew out a breath.

She
was
scared.

Saying ‘I love you’ was a big deal. She still thought about the first and only time she’d ever uttered the words—to a heartless boyfriend who had wanted her for sex more than anything else. At the time, she hadn’t been able to see it, not even when her sister had told her she was dating a jerk.

Lesson learned.

She’d been careful with her heart and her body ever since, never mistaking sex for love or vice versa.

What would Nick do to her heart if he knew he held it in his hands?

Terrah bit her lip as she padded back into the living room, sat down on the couch and stared, without seeing, at the television screen. He cared about her. She knew that.

Would she mess things up between them by telling him how she really felt?

She’d pondered that question over and over in her mounting excitement to see him again. He would be back in New York tomorrow and they had dinner plans. She’d spent the evening shopping for the perfect dress to wow him with. The teal, strapless slip of silk she’d selected accentuated every single one of her curves. She couldn’t wait for Nick to see her in it.
