Connor must have noticed my sudden interest. "This is Fiona," Connor said, holding his hand out. The girl came forward, obviously very shy, very unsure of what to do or what her place was. "She will be the fourth member of our pack."

I looked at Connor, more than a little shocked. She was a werewolf? How in the world had he found
another
female werewolf in all the big wide world?

"I hadn't ever intended to stay away as long as I did," Connor continued, "but when I came across her scent I knew that I had to track her down. I took me a few days, but I finally caught up with her, and after a bit of convincing, after I told her about how she could be safe here, she finally agreed to come with me."

"Hi," Fiona said, her eyes darting between all of us, never settling on anything for more than a half second. Her voice was so small, she seemed so fragile, I wondered how she had ever survived out there in the world. She looked like she was maybe sixteen, not very old. So maybe she had just been lucky for a few years.

"Hi," I said back, putting on my best ear to ear smile, trying to reassure her, "I'm Sara."

"Marcus," Marcus added beside me, peering intently at the girl.

"I know," Fiona said, "Connor told me all about the two of you. About how you're trying to build a real pack of werewolves."

All at once, her mention of building a new pack made me think of my plan, to leave and join Amelia's pack in Alaska, and the note that I had left lying on Connor's desk. If he found that note I would have a lot of explaining to do, to Connor but to Marcus as well. And I really didn't want to have that conversation, and potentially ruin things, not when Connor had finally come back.

I mumbled an excuse, something about coming right back, and then I went quickly towards Connor's room, just praying that he didn't follow after me. I shut the door behind myself and found the two envelopes, one to Connor, the other to Marcus. I looked around frantically, wondering where I could put them that Connor wouldn't find them.

I dug my old duffel bag out of his closet and folded the two letters once and then twice, and opened the secret compartment I had sewn in to the bottom of my duffel, where I had kept any extra cash that I had managed to scrounge up. I shoved the envelopes in there, then tossed the bag back in to the closet.

Satisfied, and more than a little relieved that I had avoided that disaster, I turned around, to find Connor standing in the doorway, eying me, smiling. "Thinking of going somewhere?"

"What?" I said, my eyes going wide. Did he somehow know? Was I that transparent? What had he seen?

"Your duffel," he said, nodding in the direction of the closet where I had thrown it.

He didn't know then. But that comment, about leaving... just the thought of up and walking out when I cared so much about him was something that I would never do, but he had done it so easily to me. And I remembered that I should be angry at him. More than that, enraged.

"Why did you leave?" I said, my voice full of pain and confusion and anger. I was desperate for an answer that made sense, that would assuage my hurt feelings, even though I knew that there was nothing he could say that would make me feel better.

And maybe Connor sensed that, because he only stood there, helpless, not saying anything.

"Did you really think I just didn't want you anymore? That I only wanted Marcus?"

Still he said nothing.

"Do you know how long I cried for? Do you know I convinced myself that you were never coming back?"

He remained silent, standing in the door, and I couldn't take it anymore.

"Say something," I said. After a moment, after he didn't say anything, I strode forward and hit him in the chest with my fist, "say something!"

But instead of saying anything he reached down and quickly grasped the back of my head and planted his lips on mine, his mouth urgent. And at first I kissed him back, my need for him overwhelming my anger, but I pushed him away after a moment.

"I'm not done being angry at you," I said, as much a reminder to myself as a warning to him.

He reached down again though, roughly pulling my body against his and leaning my head back, his fingers tangled in my hair, making me kiss him again, and this time I didn't try to push him away, but opened my mouth to his, my urgency and need for him mixing with my anger.

He felt it too, the naked desire. I knew he did, because he just about ripped my clothes off in his haste to get me naked, and I pulled at his clothes just as much, wanting nothing so much as to feel my skin against his again after what seemed like forever apart.

Once our clothes were off he threw me down on the bed on my chest, and then pressed on top of me with his full weight, his hands and mouth grasping and biting at my skin as he seemed to rediscover my body. He pulled my hair aside and nipped at my neck while he slide a hand down my butt and then between my legs, finding me wet, and I groaned as he slid his fingers up and down, quick and hard, not wasting any time.

Part of me was still furious at him, wanted to push him away and make him work to get back in to my good graces, but I needed him so much. My body told the truth that my mind couldn't readily admit to.

"You missed me," he said, not so much a question as a statement, and I hated that my body gave me away so easily.

I felt an overwhelming urge to express the way I was feeling, the anger I couldn't let go of. I rolled over and got up on my knees and pushed him down on to the bed, and he let me, so that he ended up on his back, and me on top of him. His chest and hard abs and thick legs were all flat, except for his cock, which stood up straight and hard and long.

"And you missed me," I said, grasping his cock and tugging at it, and he groaned and I saw his big fists clench.

I straddled his thighs then and held his cock against my stomach and rubbed it with my hand, and repeated my question, "did you miss me?" The look he gave me was white hot lust. Evidently he didn't appreciate being teased like this. But then I hadn't appreciated being left either, so as far as I was concerned I was only getting even.

"You know I missed you," he said, only begrudgingly expressing his feelings to me.

"How much?" I said, smiling a little, enjoying watching him squirm as I kept rubbing my hand up and down his cock.

And then he couldn't take it anymore, he grabbed me and flipped me over so that he was on top again and my back was against the mattress. "Let me show you," he growled, and sunk down, putting his head between my legs, and I was already moaning before his tongue even got to my wet lips.

He pressed his mouth hard to me, and penetrated my outer folds with his tongue, pushing inside while holding me firm with two big arms wrapped around my thighs, so that no matter how I squirmed and gasped under his touch he could continue to do what he wanted to me.

I came hard and fast, bucking my hips and losing my breath, surprising even myself with just how much I had wanted and needed him. Every day that he had been gone, that I had been without him, it had seemed like a lifetime, but now he was back and I wanted to lay in that bed forever with him.

But he wasn't done. When I had finally unwrapped my legs from around his head he kneeled between my thighs, and slowly ran his two firm hands up my legs and stomach and breasts, marveling at my body, and every part of me that he touched seemed to come alive with pleasure.

"I missed touching you," he said in a low, sultry voice.

I watched as his eyes roamed up and down my body with such an intense look that it sent chills down my spine. Was he really looking at
me
like that? Having that strong, gorgeous alpha wolf look at me those eyes, desiring and craving me like that, it was a feeling just as good as the orgasm he had given me. It was the thing that I had missed more than I even knew. I was so glad in that moment that I hadn't gone and left for Amelia's pack. I belonged there, with Connor. I never wanted to lose that again.

"I missed being touched by you," I said, as he grasped one of my breasts and played with the nipple, until it went hard, and he bent down and put it in his mouth, playing with the hard little nub with with his tongue until I was moaning all over again.

"I want you inside of me," I said between gasps.

He didn't waste any time. He slid his cock up and down my wet lips a few times and then plunged himself in to me, pushing himself in as fast as I could expand to accommodate his big cock, and I groaned and stretched out underneath him, not realizing until that moment just how much I had missed that feeling of being joined to him and filled by him.

His thrusts were urgent, telling me just how much he needed me, but I urged him on anyway, telling him harder, faster, until he was drilling in to me, the base of his cock coming up against my outer folds with every thrust.

"I missed your pussy," he groaned out, one hand wrapped around my head, the other wandering up and down my body, from breast to thigh, never content to settle anywhere, while he pushed his head in to the fold of my neck, kissing me hard and playing his tongue over my skin.

I felt consumed from the outside and completely filled from the inside. All I could do was wrap my legs around his waist and open myself up to him.

"I'm going to come again," I whispered in to his ear, as I felt my orgasm building.

Connor growled under his breath and I felt him grow bigger and stiffer inside of me.

"Fill me up with your cum," I said, urging him on, my hands pulling him in to me by the short hairs on the back of the head, needing him like I'd never needed anything in my entire life.

I felt him give one big thrust then, staying inside of me for a moment, filling me up just like I had urged him to do, and my own orgasm exploded as his seed surged in to me. He gave a few final hard thrusts as I dug my fingernails in to his back, holding on as my whole body spasmed underneath him.

Finally he collapsed on to me, staying inside of me and pressing his limp weight down on to me and we stayed like that a long moment, neither one of us wanting to move, both silently enjoying that physical reunion that we had been longing for.

A while after, when he had gone soft, he rolled off to the side and just as he was wrapping one big arm around me I suddenly realized what I should have been wondering about that whole time, and probably would have been wondering about if my brain hadn't been all wrapped up in everything to do with Connor.

"Where is the new girl, Fiona?" I said, half turning so that I could see Connor's face.

"I left her with Marcus," Connor said.

"Oh," I said, rolling back over. I wasn't sure how great of an idea that was. Marcus wasn't going to hurt her or anything like that, but he wasn't exactly the warm and welcoming face that would make Fiona feel at home and safe.

"When I found her," Connor continued, "I knew that she was going to be the solution to all our problems."

I turned around again, confused, "what does that mean?"

"Marcus can have her, and you and I can be together."

"What!" I whirled around and propped myself up in bed, amazed that he could look so innocent, like it was the most perfectly natural idea in the world. There were so many things wrong with what he had just said that I didn't even know where to begin poking holes.

"You cant do that," I managed to get out.

"Why not?"

"She's so young, for one," I said, "she cant be much older than sixteen. And you cant just
give
her to Marcus like something you bought at the store. She's a person, she has feelings."

Connor rolled over and stared at the ceiling. "I hoped you would be pleased."

"The two of you are unbelievable," I said, getting up out of bed and throwing some clothes on. I couldn't be in that bed with him or I was going to slap him. All the anger I felt for him came surging back. I'd thought he'd come back because he couldn't be away from me, but he'd come back because he thought he'd figured out a way to have me all to himself. He wasn't interested in solving anything, or trying to make anything work.

And the truth that I never would have admitted out loud was that I was beginning to develop feelings for Marcus. He was so distant and damaged, and a much harder man to love, but being alone with him for those past days, and seeing him try to make an effort to make the house more of a home for me, I was starting to see the person behind all the walls. He was far from perfect, but then clearly Connor wasn't perfect either. Neither was I, for that matter. But I didn't want to lose either of them, flawed as they were. Fiona couldn't have Marcus, because he was mine.

"Wait," I said, turning back around, "does Marcus know about this little plan of yours?"

Finally Connor had the decency to look a little defensive. "I thought I would let them get to know each other first."

I just shook my head and went for the bedroom door.

"Where are you going?" Connor said, finally sitting up in bed.

"To rescue that poor girl," I said over my shoulder.

Chapter Four

I stormed down the hallway, and from the main entrance spotted Marcus and Fiona in the kitchen. Marcus and Fiona were both sitting at the kitchen island on stools, food laid out, with Fiona eating as Marcus looked on.

"Fiona," I said, smiling through the anger I was feeling, "do you think I could borrow Marcus for just a minute?"

Fiona nodded, only glancing in my direction. She seemed so shy and quiet. I still couldn't understand how someone like her had ever survived out there in the world full of monsters.

Marcus got up from his seat and came over to me, and the two of us retreated back towards the main entrance, and out of earshot. The last thing I wanted to do was scare the poor girl by giving her any hint of what Connor had had in mind for her.

"So Connor was hoping, or planning, that you would take Fiona as your mate, so that Connor and I could be together, alone, without you." I studied his face, looking for even the slightest hint that would tell me what he was thinking. But as always he kept his emotions deep down where I couldn't hope to see them.
