Certain objects that outwardly resemble sexual organs are believed to have aphrodisiac effects. Examples are Rhinoceros Horn or Oyster that resemble penis and vagina respectively. An aphrodisiac is that substance that is alleged to stimulate sexual desire and activity. It is possible that suggestion plays a major part when they appear to have an effect.

They keep their children in total ignorance of sexual matters and oppose sex education not only at home but in school too. These attitudes lay the ground work for sexual conflicts, frigidity and impotence in many instances.

person may be a millionaire, a world leader, an athlete, a wrestler or a distinguished scientist but may still feel inadequate doing a simple act of sex that is common for animals and birds.

But in the case of men and women, instincts have been crippled by anxiety resulting from negative preconditioning normally based on expectations of family and society.

Q.35 What is the sex centre of the brain?
Ans
. Sex centre of the brain is a term sometimes applied to a small area at the base of the brain which is believed to control the sex drive and various sexual functions, including the ovulation cycle in the female and ejaculation in the male. Its principal component is the pituitary gland, the MASTER GLAND that programs not only the sex glands but every other gland in the body. Studies have also suggested that damage in this area may be one of the causes of nymphomania and satyriasis on the one hand and impotence and diminished sex interest on the other hand.
Satyriasis is a male sexual disorder characterised by an obsessive insatiable desire for sexual gratification. Nymphomania is a compulsive insatiable need for sexual stimulation and gratification in women, frequently leading to promiscuity or to masturbation performed several times a day.

Conclusion

In our society, though we recognise that sexual behaviour is an important aspect of marriage, the learning of sexual techniques and attitudes is too often left to chance. The result is that many young people start out with faulty expectations and a lack of needed information or harmful misinformation that can impair their sexual adequacy. Couples with sexual problems typically practice insensitive, incompetent and ineffective sexual techniques.

Many females in our society have been subjected to early training that depicted sexual relations as lustful, dirty and evil. The attitudes and inhibitions thus established can lead to a great deal of anxiety, conflict and guilt where sexual relations are concerned.

Masters and experts on the subject have concluded that—most sexual dysfunctions are due to crippling fears, attitudes and inhibitions concerning sexual behaviour, often based on faulty early learning exacerbated by later aversive experiences.

For the female, lack of emotional closeness often appears to result from intercourse with a partner who is sexually rough, unduly hasty and concerned only with his own gratification. In other instances that individual maybe hostile towards that partner and not want to please his or her sexual partner. This seems to occur rather frequently in unhappy and failing marital or other intimate relationships in which channels of communication have largely broken down and sex is performed as a sort of habit or duty or simply to gratify one’s own sexual needs.

Not long ago, sex was never mentioned in public. People were too embarrassed to talk about it. But attitudes to sex have changed in recent years. Today, even people who do not hold these outdated views may still find it difficult to answer questions about sex. Families who are not used to talk about how they feel may find it very hard to discuss sex.

Sex is not something to be judged like an athlete performance. To be good at sex, you need first of all to be sensitive to your partner’s needs and feelings.

Even inexperienced partners can be good at sex if they love each other enough to work at finding ways of giving pleasure and satisfaction.

It is normal for couples to have sex throughout their life together, and a good sexual relationship is usually inseparable from a good marriage. There is no age at which people automatically become past it. The relationship between a man and a woman is one of the most fulfilling parts of life at any age whether at 18 or 80. Parents and grand parents have as much right to love and sex as their children and grand children.
