Queen
could
tell
by
Paul's
sad,
hazel,
puppy
dog
eyes
that
he
wanted
to
talk
about
their
relationship.

She
realized
that
postponing
it
was
not
going
to
change
the
outcome.

Plus,
she
was
tired
of
carrying
the
burden
of
it
like
a
gigantic
stone
around
her
neck.

One
which
joked
the
very
life
out
of
her
every
single
time
she
thought
about
him.

"Okay,
well
come
with
me."

She
said
as
she
lead
him
outside
to
the
deck.

~*~*~

Queen
was
a
little
leery
about
taking
Paul
outside
to
talk.

But
the
deck
was
secluded
and
they
could
talk
freely.

Just
as
they
stepped
on
the
deck
Paul
pulled
Queen
in
his
arms
and
kissed
her.

But
this
time
Queen
did
not
yield.

She
refused
to
allow
his
tongue
entrance.

This
alarmed
him.

"Is
everything
okay?"

He
asked
as
he
searched
her
eyes
for
a
reason
for
the
brush
off.

"You're
not
mad
at
me
because
I
came
up
to
see
you
are
you?"

"No
I'm
not
mad
at
you
at
all."

She
calmly
replied
as
she
slipped
out
of
his
arms
and
took
a
seat
at
the
patio
table.

"Come
sit
down
let's
talk."

Paul
looked
puzzled.

This
was
a
Queen
that
he
was
not
use
to.

She
seemed
eerily
calm
and
at
the
same
time
somewhat
cold
and
callous.

Suddenly
he
wasn't
sure
if
he
still
wanted
to
have
this
conversation.

But
it
was
too
late
to
change
his
mind
now.

"I
called
you
last
night,
but
you
didn't
answer."

"Yeah
I
know
we
were
at
Logic's
parents

home
at
a
dinner
party."
Queen
responded.

"So
when
you
say
we
who
are
you
referring
to?"

"Me
and
my
parents.

I
couldn't
answer
my
phone.

I'm
sorry."

"I
left
you
a
message.

Why
didn't
you
call
me
back?"

"You
know
that's
kind
of
a
funny
story.

Not
ha-
ha,
funny,
but
more
like
strange
funny."

"How
so?"

Paul
asked
confused.

"Well,
I
saw
that
I
had
messages.

And
wow...
I
had
a
whole
slew
of
messages."

"Yeah,
I
bet
you
did."

Paul
laughed.

"And
I
bet
ninety
percent
of
them
where
from
me."

"Actually
almost
all
of
them
where
from
you.

I
didn't
listen
to
any
of
your
messages
after
that
day.

Hell,
I
couldn't
bear
to
hear
your
voice.

But
last
night
I
decided
to
bite
the
bullet
and
listen
to
them.

And
in
retrospect
I
really
wished
that
I
had
just
deleted
them."

"Why?

I
poured
my
heart
out
to
you
on
that
phone.

I
almost
lost
my
damn
mind
when
you
left
me.

Hell,
half
the
time
I
called
your
phone
just
to
hear
your
voice."

"Yeah
I
know,
but
this
is
the
thing.

My
voicemail
plays
messages
from
the
oldest
to
the
newest.

So
in
order
to
hear
your
last
message
I
had
to
go
through
all
the
numerous
other
messages.

Which
was
okay,
even
though
there
were
over
seventy
messages?

The
strange
thing
is
that
your
very
first
message
was
the
day
of
the
incident.

And
you
know
I
really
didn't
want
to
hear
twenty
minutes
of
that
bullshit,
so
I
almost
deleted
it."

"Queen
I
didn't
leave
you
a
twenty
minute
message
that
day.

I
was
too
upset.

Longest
message
I
left
may
have
been
three
minutes
at
best."

"Well,
unfortunately
you
did.

Because
somehow
when
you
and
Zoey
were
having
at
it
your
phone
inadvertently
called
my
phone."

"What?

How
could
that
happen.

That's
not
possible."

"Apparently
it
is
because
I
heard
almost
everything."

"Oh
my
God!

Queen,
please
tell
me
you
just
deleted
that
bullshit."

"You
know
I
wanted
to,
in
fact
I
almost
deleted
it
without
even
listening.

But
something
wouldn't
let
me.

So
I
listened
to
it
to
just
get
it
over
with."

"Queen
how
much
did
you
hear?"
