But he did complain when she refused to kiss him or let him touch her intimately. Cassidy knew if he did, then she would be lost and give in to having sex with him. She needed some sort of control.
But in two weeks, her control was starting to crack and Cassidy knew it was only a matter of time before Bradley won and got what he wanted. Then, he would be strutting around like a peacock.
Deciding that sleeping right now was not going to work, Cassidy thought a warm drink would help. Slipping out of bed, she put on her robe over her yoga pants and t-shirt and tiptoed out the room.
Bradley's bedroom door, at the other end of the hall, was firmly closed. She could almost hear him snoring through the door. He had been snoring like a baby since they started including sex into the sessions; no more flashbacks and nightmares.
The problem was Cassidy was the one who couldn't sleep now.
She tiptoed downstairs and was on her way to the kitchen when she saw a light under the door in Bradley's office. Cassidy slowed. She distinctly remembered Bradley turning the light off when he left. He always did that. So, either the light had switched itself on or someone was in the office.
She hoped it was Bradley. And, at the same time, hoped that it wasn't. She didn't want to face him right now. Her self-control was weak as it was and she didn't want to tempt fate by going into his office and finding the man of her desires inside.
Nevertheless Cassidy found herself approaching the door and pushing it open. Ron sat behind Bradley's desk, tapping away at the computer. This wasn't odd; Ron often used Bradley's computer. But at one-thirty in the morning? He didn't even live at the house.
"Ron?"
Ron's head snapped round. When he saw her he stood quickly, switching the computer screen off.
"Cassidy." He looked embarrassed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."
"You didn't. I just couldn't sleep." Cassidy raised her eyebrows at him. "Night owl, are you?"
"I couldn't sleep, either. I thought I'd come back and get some work finished." Ron walked round the desk and leant his hip against the hip, folding his arms across his chest. His biceps seemed to bulge. "How's Mr Nash? He's looking more relaxed these last couple of weeks."
Cassidy swallowed, aware that she was blushing.
"You could say that." She mumbled. "Something must be getting through."
"I'll say." Ron sneered. He gave her an ugly look. "Isn't sex meant to be a great stress reliever?"
"What?"
"Oh, come on, Cass, I'm not deaf. The moans coming out of here when you're in there for one of your 'sessions' are audible throughout the house." Ron shook his head in disgust. "I didn't realize when I hired you that I would be hiring a whore."
Cassidy gasped. She advanced on him angrily, hands clenched at her sides.
"How dare you?" She snarled.
"How dare you?" Ron shot back. His eyes were flashing angrily. "You're meant to be his anger management counsellor, not a sex worker for him to use when he needs you. While the change in Mr Nash is good, how long will it last after you've gone? Is he going to move you in so you can keep pleasuring him? Or is he going to start bringing whores home?"
The thought of Bradley with any other woman upset Cassidy. She didn't want to think about it. But the implication that she was simply in it to have sex for money hurt even more. While she was uncomfortable around Ron, she thought they were getting along. She jabbed a finger into his chest.
"I am not a whore." She hissed. "And why are you so against the treatment he suggested? It's helping him, whether it's ethical or not."
"Because I don't like seeing him use you like that."
Cassidy stared. Had she heard him right? Ron sighed and raised a hand, brushing his fingers across her cheek. He gave her a sad smile.
"Mr Nash isn't the only bloke in this house you've snared."
Cassidy was at a loss.
"Ron, I..."
But she was silent when Ron pressed a finger over her lips.
"Don't worry, I won't ask you for the same thing. I promise. I like women to be pleasured as much as me." He gave her a meaningful look. "Pleasured and monogamous. I just wish I'd got you before my boss did."
At least it explained Ron's occasionally odd behaviour around her; he liked her. If the circumstances had been different, Cassidy might have considered it. Ron was a handsome man but there was something about him that Cassidy didn't like. She didn't know what it was but it made her shifty.
Suddenly, she decided that she didn't want anything to eat. She backed away, resisting the urge to run.
"I'd better get back to sleep." She muttered. "I've got a lot to do tomorrow."
Then she turned and walked slowly out the office, aware that Ron was watching her go. It wasn't until she closed the door and crossed the hall to the stairs that she began to run.
The Threat
Bradley stood on the fringe of the crowd, nursing a glass of champagne. He was unable to take his eyes of Cassidy, who stood beside Lex as they talked to a middle-aged couple, the conversation animated. He hadn't seen her like this for a while. It was as if the spark had gone out of her and Bradley had worried he wouldn't be able to get it back.
She looked particularly lovely tonight. Lex had managed to talk her into coming to this event, which was for one of Lex's many charities, and she had even dragged Cassidy out shopping for a gown.
The one they had chosen was sky blue, high in the neckline at the front but dipped low at the back, almost to her waist and leaving her back and arms free. The skirt was long and flowing, falling to the ground in silken waves. With her hair left loose about her shoulders, Cassidy drew the eye of everyone in the room.
Bradley had tamped down on his jealous streak. Ever since he had seen her in that dress, all he wanted to do was to keep her home, strip her naked, and thrust his cock into her again and again until she screamed his name. But Lex had told them they had to be there for supporting her. So he had bitten his tongue and acted as escort for the two ladies.
Cassidy had been just as reluctant in coming. When Bradley had gone downstairs that morning, he had found Cassidy already up and Lex had let herself in. Lex had been telling Cassidy about the charity event and asked her to come, to which Cassidy had tried to get out of. But Lex was insistent and suddenly Bradley found himself acting as escort for the two ladies.
Seeing her in this capacity, acting like a consummate hostess, laughing and joking with the other guests, Bradley knew he was falling hard and fast for this woman. She had brought some calm into his life in the last three weeks. His mate knew just how to calm him.
They hadn't sat and talked for hours, which he wanted to do, and they hadn't made love, something else he really wanted to do, but he felt her inside him, settling him when he needed it. She was good for him.
If only Bradley could get Cassidy to understand that herself. He wanted her to understand that he needed her. A lot. But she was still hiding behind her counsellor's ethics, refusing to sleep with him or let him touch her because that was crossing the line even more. Bradley didn't like it but was willing to go at her pace if that meant he could have her at the end.
But he only had a week to get her back.
"She's pretty. Where did you find her?"
Bradley turned. A tall man in his late twenties was leaning against the wall behind him. His dark hair was tousled, as was the tuxedo he wore. He leered openly at Cassidy, who was in part-profile to them. Bradley growled as his dragon reared its head and turned to face the newcomer.
"Daniel." He spoke through gritted teeth. "Where did you find her?"
"I came to make a donation." Daniel smirked. "And I thought I'd check on you. See how my King was doing."
Bradley resisted the urge to punch his smug little face in. His status as dragon king dictated that he shouldn't attack members of his clan but Bradley Nash, millionaire, wanted to forget that for now. However he was meant to have no more fights in public and that's what he needed to focus on. He clenched his fists at his sides.
"Your King is doing absolutely fine." He said stiffly. "You don't need to worry about him. He is working out his problems."
"Really?" Daniel tittered. "I don't think so."
"Are you questioning me?"
"Yes." Daniel pushed himself off the wall and prowled towards his king. He gave Bradley a sneering look up and down. "You say you're better but you're not. Getting anger management may be curbing your problem but it's not going away."
Bradley had no idea Daniel had felt any animosity towards him. He glared at the young man.
"You're really that desperate to become King, aren't you?"
"I can be a better king than you." Daniel declared arrogantly. He looked across the hall. "And I get to have Lex as well."
Bradley shook his head. They had been over this territory before. Daniel had asked Bradley's father Steve for Lex's hand in marriage but Steve had refused. Then when Steve died, Daniel had asked Bradley. He had also refused. It didn't matter if he'd said yes or no; Lex hated Daniel and refused outright to do anything with him.
"Lex won't let you anywhere near her. You know that and it's not in a dragon's nature to force anyone to become theirs."
"You think?" Daniel's eyes glowed. "Lex will love me in time. I'll make sure of it."
"I won't let you take her."
Daniel snorted
"If you're not the king, you won't have any choice."
Bradley could feel his anger rising again. He needed Cassidy and she needed to be here right now. He straightened up, using his height to tower over Daniel's five-nine frame.
"I'm staying as King." He said defiantly. "You won't be able to usurp me."
Daniel snorted.
"Really? You're too unstable to be King." He spat. "It'll be far too easy."
"Not with my mate at my side." Bradley declared. "She's calmed me enough to focus properly. I'm stronger with her."
And it was true. Having Cassidy at his side calmed him. His anger was beginning to recede even when she was in the room. He was that comfortable with her that they didn't even need to be sexual with each other for Bradley to calm down. Seeing her nearby, seeing her smile was now enough for him.
He wanted more but he wouldn't force Cassidy, who was clearly trying to keep away from him. He wouldn't wait forever before he made his move but he was willing to wait for now.
Daniel's eyes widened. He looked across at Cassidy, who was watching them through the throng. Her eyes were on Bradley, questioning. Bradley gave her a smile to signify things were fine and turned back to Daniel. The younger man had noticed the exchange and understood. He raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"You'd better keep her close, Your Highness." He purred. "After that declaration, she might go missing."
Before Bradley could react to that, Daniel bowed and walked away, disappearing into the crowd. Bradley was left fuming. How dare he threaten Cassidy like that? He thought he could actually overthrow Bradley and take Lex for his mate. And all he had to do was getting rid of Cassidy.
Bradley wished he didn't have a conscience. Then he would be able to kill Daniel and not shed a tear.

Cassidy figured that something was wrong when she saw Bradley with a tousle-haired man with a pencil-thin moustache. She witnessed them standoff, Bradley clearly unhappy to see him.
Lex had also seen them and she didn't look happy, either. She had explained to Cassidy that the man was Daniel, someone who wanted to take over one of the many businesses Bradley owned.
Then Lex had mentioned Daniel wanted to be in a relationship with her, something Lex vehemently opposed. Cassidy was shocked that Daniel was prepared to go to great lengths to get what he wanted, even if it meant going after Bradley.
Hearing all that put a dampener on a pleasant evening. So when Bradley signalled her that they were going to leave, Cassidy gladly got her things and left with him. Lex stayed behind to finish off the event but Cassidy did worry about her. She didn't want to leave her behind. But Lex assured her that she would be fine and urged her to go home with Bradley.
Home. It was odd to think of that big building where only Bradley resided as home.
Cassidy felt a pang of regret as Bradley pulled the car into the driveway and stopped in front of his house. She had been there three weeks already. Another week and her work would be over. She would have to go back to work at the clinic and try to focus on her patients there instead of the man who had captured her heart.
Against her wishes, her secret crush had become something more to Cassidy. She was now in love with him and that was going to turn into heartache when she left.
Thunder rolled as Bradley opened her door and helped her out. He didn't let go of her arm as they approached his house, using his other hand to lock the car and to open the front door.
Cassidy stepped inside first and took off her coat. It had been a long evening and she was ready to go to bed. But a small part of her wanted to stay and share a few more moments with Bradley.
He may not return her feelings but she could at least stay in his company a little longer.
Bradley was still in the doorway. He had turned away and was looking out into the dark. Thunder rolled again and then lightning flashed across the sky. Cassidy moved across the hall and stood beside him, watching the drama above them. It was scary yet fascinating. Bradley seemed entranced with it.
"It was raining like this on the night my parents died." Cassidy nearly jumped when Bradley spoke.
"I'd just picked them up from the airport and we were on our way home. They'd just been on holiday to Hawaii. An eighteen-wheeler was coming to the intersection we had stopped at. The driver had been drinking and had not been given proper time to rest by his company. So he didn't notice the lights were against him. He went through and ploughed into the side of my car as we went across."
Cassidy turned to stare at him. Bradley was staring out at the thunderstorm, his face lighting up whenever the lightning flashed. He had undone his bow tie and top buttons on his shirt, his hair unruly from running his hands through it. He looked lost.
"Our car exploded into a ball of flame. The lorry had been carrying explosive chemicals. It was a miracle it didn't take out the entire block." Bradley closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath before opening them.
"Dad died instantly. Mom survived the blast but she was so badly burnt her body couldn't cope. It completely shut down. She died in my arms."
Cassidy's heart arched. To have witnessed that...she couldn't begin to comprehend how he must be feeling right this minute.
It was a moment more before Bradley spoke again. His voice cracked.
"Somehow I managed to get out of it alive. So did the lorry driver, who ran away without trying to help. He's now facing trial for death by dangerous driving and my lawyers have a lawsuit against his company. Not that it will make me feel any better." He grunted. "No amount of money is going to bring them back."
He closed his eyes. Lightning flashed against and Cassidy saw a tear trickle down his cheek. She went to him and slid her arms around his waist, resting her head on his chest. Bradley's arms automatically went round her, sliding his fingers into her hair as he kissed her head.
Cassidy looked up. Bradley was looking at her with pure heat in his eyes. They were glowing amber, sucking her in. She could feel her nipples tighten as they pressed against his chest. Her pussy throbbed and clenched, demanding that it be filled. Her vibrators had done nothing to take the edge of at all.
It wanted Bradley. All of him.
"Cassidy?"
And Cassidy wanted all of Bradley. Whatever he could give her. Her job be damned, she wanted him.
So when Bradley bent his head and kissed her, she didn't object.

Bradley didn't know what happened next. It was all a bit of a blur. One minute, they were watching the thunder and lightning and he was finally talking about his parents and how they died. The next Cassidy was in his arms, kissing him like she couldn't get enough of him.
He sank into the kiss, taking charge and demanding, his tongue diving into her mouth. Cassidy let him take the reins, clutching onto him and moaning, rubbing her body against him. His cock hardened like steel as she kept brushing up against it.
He had to pull away when it got too much. He stared down at her, seeing her swollen mouth from his kisses, her heavily lidded eyes and her flushed cheeks. She was turned on as hell and Bradley had not seen a more beautiful sight.
He swallowed. Seduction was never his strong point but he wanted to make it work for her.
"Shall we go upstairs?"
Cassidy's eyes flared. Her pupils were so big they nearly filled her irises. She nodded, biting her lip. Bradley growled and swept her into his arms. Cassidy sighed and looped her arms around his neck, resting her head against his shoulder as Bradley climbed the stairs and made his way into his bedroom, kicking the door shut.
Then he set Cassidy down and stepped back. He was trembling. Knowing that he would have Cassidy - finally - was filling him with a need so great Bradley was worried it would snap if they went further.
Without taking her eyes off him, Cassidy shrugged out of her dress and let it fall. It pooled around her feet and she stepped out, wearing only a tiny pair of panties and her heels. Her breasts were full and round, just like her curves. Bradley loved touching her curves.
Then she undid the ties on the sides of her panties and they joined her dress on the floor. Bradley just stood there staring at her, mouth open and his cock straining against his zipper.
Cassidy sauntered towards him, lips parted and her eyes so full of heat, Bradley felt like he was burning up. He swallowed as she reached for his shirt and slowly unbuttoned it. Bradley wanted her to go faster but he held himself in check; this was Cassidy's choice and she needed to do this for herself.
