Chapter Twenty-one

The first week in his home was strange. He’d helped me move my
clothes and personal items, but I didn’t feel comfortable giving up my lease…or
taking his money, so I continued to pay my rent. Call it self-preservation or
being skittish, but I wanted to be ready in case either of us got cold feet.

He introduced me to his friends and business colleagues as his
girlfriend. He didn’t know it, but every time he said it, I felt warm and gooey
inside.

After several weeks of living together, we’d spent every night
and weekend together. I felt my love for him strengthening and sensed his
possessiveness of me getting stronger.

By this point, he’d share with me his love and loss of Niccola
and the years spent in depression after her death. He made no excuses, rather
apologies, for the way he’d behaved with other women and owned the problems
he’d faced because of the way he had treated them.

When the bar re-opened the following week, we celebrated with a
private party and entertained as a couple in every way. Lucas kept his arm
around me and always made certain he knew where I was, if it wasn’t right next
to him. Claire, Mason, Ashley, and Sean came, as well as my parents. Francesca
and Gavin attended, and I found them both quite lovely.

I was totally stunned to see Lucas spend so much time with my
parents, especially surprised when they made plans to return a few weeks later
for a weekend visit.

We were undressing for a quick shower before bed, when Lucas
pulled me tightly to his chest and propped his chin on my head. I could see us
in the bathroom mirror.

“Francesca, Gavin, and I have come to a decision about
Bluestone. The deal is off. They’re disappointed of course, but it’s where I
met you, and I can’t see anyone else owning it. They agree and there’s no hard
feelings.”

“I liked them both, and I’m sad for them, but I’m happier for
us.”

“You realize what this means, don’t you?”

“You’ll be busy a lot of nights?”

He nodded, his eyes ablaze.

“I think the bed upstairs is quite comfy, if I recall. I’ll
wait for you at night there, when you’re working.”

“Use your key to come and go.”

“What key?”

“The key I gave you the first night we met. It’s the key that
opens the front entrance automatically, the private entrance, and also allows
you to access the elevator.”

Ohmyheavens
, I wondered what that was and also how
things magically opened for me. I put it in my wallet and didn’t think any more
about it.”

“You didn’t get the note with it?” he asked with a puzzled look
on his face.

“No, I didn’t read the note. I took the card out quickly and
stuffed it into my purse to avoid inquiring minds.” I laughed.

“Babe, the note said you had the key to my place. Come anytime
you want.” He led me into the shower and washed my hair.

I loved it when he caressed me so sweetly. It was the simple
things that caused me to purr for him.

I washed his chest and the tightly formed muscles of his
abdomen. As long as I lived, I didn’t think I’d ever tire of looking at the
perfectly formed muscles that made up his
sex v
. I loved it when we went
to the gym and worked out together.

After our shower, I reached under the bathroom sink and pulled
out the
Clone-A-Willy
kit we’d bought in California.

“What is that?”

“You remember the kit we bought to copy your dick?”

He laughed so hard he couldn’t talk for a moment. “You still
have it?”

“This is it. I want to do it. If you’re going to be tied up at
the bar until all hours of the night, I want to make certain I have a part of
you to go to bed with.” I slowly traced the distance between his nipples before
I bit each one of them playfully.

He humored me, but I saw a smile grow on his face. He enjoyed
it more than he was letting on. Besides, it would be an exact replica of his
penis…with vibration. What more could I ask for?

After we made the willy and left it to set up, I ran to the
kitchen to get some ice water. Mr. Giordano knew exactly what I intended with
him.

Before I could slide down his body, he turned me around, so I
hovered over him with my ass in the air. It was his favorite oral position, for
us to be
69
. There was something about him taking me that way that
turned us both on. When my release came, I felt him slide his slippery finger
into my rear entry. After which, he followed it with the anal beads.

I joined him by his side as he held me, and we talked,
gathering our breath. When he’d put the beads in me, I knew he wasn’t done.

Each time he made love to me, it was always different.
Sometimes slow and sweet with all the patience available; other times it was
heated and needy. Even when I initiated sex, he always took over.

He pulled a scarf out of the drawer and joined me on the bed.
“Care to be blindfolded?” he asked as he held the silk in front of me.

“Yum.”

He secured it so I couldn’t see, and I was surprised by my
reaction. The effect was different than that of just having the lights turned
out.

He tied my hands to the bed as well. Now, I knew why guys liked
beds with posts.

With the beads still in place, he pushed my knees to my chest.
I felt the heaviness of his cock resting on my cleft as he pinched and thumbed
my nipple before dragging his nail around in circles over my stomach.

He rubbed his cock at my opening, soaking in my juices from my
recent climax. He thumbed my clit, and once again, I found myself on the edge
of release.

“Make me come, babe. Please”

“When you do, I want you to scream and push out, okay?”

“Yes.”

He worked with my overly sensitive nub, and when he bit down on
it, I screamed his name. At the same time, he pulled the beads out and shoved
his cock deep inside my pussy in one swift plunge.

Fuckamazin’!
It was the most awesome feeling in the
world. The orgasm curled through my toes and rippled all the way to my hair. He
plunged a few more times deep in me before I felt his release flooding deep in
my channel. My eyes rolled back in my head, and I thought surely I would pass
out. I went completely limp and failed at gaining a deep breath.

“God, baby, are you okay?”

“Hmmm,” I moaned.

He ripped the blindfold off and freed my hands. “Why didn’t you
safe word?”

“I didn’t need to. It felt too damn good.” I gave a partial
laugh.

“You went limp, and I thought you’d passed out.”

“I almost did. When you pulled the beads at the exact moment
you did, it was the most incredible feeling.”

He lifted my torso off the bed and pulled me tight to his
chest, running his hands down my hair in a soothing motion. “That scared the
hell out of me. I don’t know what I’d do if I harmed you or lost you. I love
you so much.”

Everything stilled, and I absorbed what he’d said. I needed to
see his eyes. I pushed back from his chest and searched them. I craved to see
him say it.

“Say it,” I asked softly.

“I love you,” he said sweetly. His smile reached his eyes, and
I knew then he really did.

“Again?”

“I love you, Mia Kennedy. You hold the key to my heart.”

Chapter
One

“All you have to do is have dinner
with him. He isn’t expecting anything else from you. He just needs a companion
for the fundraiser tonight.” Emma looks at me with pleading eyes. “I’ve gone to
several of these events with him and he has never been anything less than a
gentleman. He keeps his professional life completely separated from his
personal life.” Falling to her knees in front of me, she closes her eyes as if
in prayer. “He is an impeccably groomed man—the type of male perfection you
only find on the pages of magazines. He kind of reminds me of Alexander
Skarsgård
, although his eyes are a different
color of blue and his hair is lighter. He’s a tall blond-haired, blue-eyed
Viking. He’s harmless, Kat, in fact I think that he may be gay since he’s never
been seen dating anyone.” Emma gets up from her knees and stands in front of me
with her hands steepled in prayer. “Please, Kat,” she begs.  “I really need you
to do this for me. I’m overbooked tonight, and I can’t be with two men at the
same time. We’ll be at the same event so if you feel uncomfortable in any way,
I’ll be nearby. I asked Damon if he would mind the switch, and he assured me
that it wouldn’t be a problem. Please help me out.” I look into her eyes as
they silently plead her case. I know she would bail me out if I really needed
her to, but this is extreme.

“I don’t think I can do it, Em. I
have no training as an escort.” I watch as her face falls a little. “That’s
your thing, not mine. I have always known that someday you would get yourself
into trouble, but I never thought it would involve me.”

“You act as if I am asking you to
prostitute yourself.” Her lips purse, and then relax. “I run a legitimate
escort service. I’m not a hooker, Kat. I don’t sleep with my clients.” She
rolls her eyes for a moment and then continues. “Well, that’s not altogether
true. I slept with Mark, but, it was because I wanted to, not because he paid
me to.”

The thought of accompanying a
complete stranger to an event terrifies me. My stomach feels like I’ve just
crested the highest peak of a roller coaster and I’m beginning the descent.
“Emma, you’re my best friend and I want to help you, but I don’t have the
foggiest idea of how to behave in this type of situation.”

Emma stops to consider my
statement. I can only imagine how fast she is flipping through the Rolodex in
her brain to come up with an example. Her eyes are looking north and her lips
are scrunched up––this is her thinking face. Within seconds, her face lights up
and I know that I’m in trouble. She has a way of coming up with the perfect
scenario that will work in her best interest. “Remember when we went with your
parents to the ballet? We dressed up, you in the pink dress and me in the light
blue dress.” She is staring at me as if waiting for a light bulb to illuminate
over my head in recognition. “Do you remember how we had to socialize with all
of your dad’s clients before and after the event?”

“Yes. I also remember that it was
the most boring night of my life.”

Smiling, she says, “This will be
just like that night, except that you’ll like some of the people you meet, and
you’ll make three hundred dollars. All you have to do is look pretty and smile.”
She fluffs her hair and shows me her pearly whites. “You’ll also get to wear
one of my fabulous formal gowns. Please say yes!” she begs.

Emma is back on her knees in front
of me pleading. I have such a soft spot for her. In spite of my fear, I agree
to help. “Okay, just stand up and stop begging. I’ll help you out this one
time, but I want to wear your red gown, and you have to do my hair. If the guy
is a total creep––I’m leaving. What time do I have to be ready, and where do
I need to go?”

Jumping up and down, Emma dances
around me. “Oh my God, I knew you wouldn’t let me down. He’ll be here to pick
you up at seven o’clock. You are going to a hospital fundraiser. Damon is a
benefactor. There will be live music and dancing afterwards.” Emma wraps me in
a big hug. “Kat, I love you so much. You’re the best friend ever.”

“I better not regret this, Emma.
You’re going to owe me big for this one.” I give her my most intimidating look.
“I’m heading to the shower, and when I come back, you better have my outfit
ready. It’s almost six o’clock now and that gives me just over an hour to get
ready.” I continue to talk as I walk to the bathroom. “You’re lucky that I had
a mani-pedi yesterday. Otherwise I would need an outfit that goes with my boots
and gloves.” Stopping, I turn to ask her a question that has been bouncing in
my brain for a few minutes. “Why do I get this guy instead of the one that you’re
escorting tonight?”

Taking a deep breath, she answers
me. “I know Damon will be a gentleman. The other guy is an unknown.” She shrugs
her shoulders. “I have never accompanied him anywhere. I can’t imagine him
being anything except nice, but since I don’t know him personally, I don’t feel
comfortable having you escort him.” She waves her hand at me in a dismissive
fashion. “Go take your shower, so I can get you all dolled up for the evening.”

I shampoo my hair, shave my legs,
and ready myself for “work.” My body wash smells of coconut and mango and makes
me think of someplace exotic like Fiji. Wouldn’t it be nice to escape to
someplace else for the night? A tropical island sounds good right now. I would
love to be anywhere but here. I think about covering for Emma tonight, and the
thought petrifies me. I am way out of my league. I don’t even date regularly.
Who has time between work and school? My life is barely in balance, and tonight
is going to tilt the scales toward pure chaos.

***

“Oh my goodness, Kat, you look
stunning.” Emma stands back and looks at me. Her scrutiny makes me nervous. She
walks completely around me, smoothing my hair and wiping a smudge of mascara
from under my eye. “Everything is just perfect,” she declares.

“Thanks, Em. You really know how to
turn a duckling into a swan.” I had the opportunity to see myself in the
full-length mirror before I made my debut in the living room. The results were
nothing less than miraculous. The red dress is cut on the bias, and it hangs
nicely on my figure. Emma pulled my hair up into a French knot that she has secured
with a pretty bejeweled hair comb. My makeup looks elegant and soft. The
lipstick is a bit bright for my taste, but since I’m wearing a red dress, I can
see where she was going with it.

“Who are you going with Emma?”

“I will be accompanying Anthony
Haywood.”

“Anthony Haywood, the restaurateur?”
My mouth drops open in shock. “That Anthony Haywood?” I ask.

Anthony Haywood owns a chain of
upscale restaurants all over the world. He is a mega-millionaire, reported to
be one of the world’s most eligible bachelors. I recently read a fascinating
article about him. A real rags-to-riches story. “Wow, that’s some date that you
have.”
