“Don’t talk.”
And he brought his lips to mine. And they were soft and smooth, and hot and suddenly we were kissing in the middle of the street, his tongue against mine, his arms clutching me to him furiously. His body was hard and a shiver went through me, and he held me tighter. He whispered into my mouth “I need you, now, I’m sick with waiting. Say yes. Please fucking say you’ll have me.”
I was about to answer, when we were both startled by the flash of a camera. He turned towards it, a protective arm around me. It was two teenage girls with a cell phone. I looked up at him, but he was smiling.
One of the girls burst out. “Tristan! I knew it was you! See, Sophie.” She gave her friend a look. “We love you! Will you sign us?” She pulled out a Sharpie pen and pulled down the neckline of her shirt, exposing a bit of flimsy blue lace and a curve of fresh white skin. Tristan looked at me and shrugged. I laughed. The irony of it all wasn’t lost on either of us. Without losing his grip on me, he took the pen and signed a quick flourish across the flush of her breast, dipping low enough to make her squeal, while her friend took pictures. Then he signed the friend’s cd cover, and waved to the few people who had stopped to watch, before kissing me again. A few more flashes went off.
He leaned down and spoke quietly. “I’ve staked my claim, Lily. I hope you’re ready to be staken.” He laughed.
“That’s not English.” I protested as he marched me to the car.
“I’ll show you all the languages I know. All the tongues.” He smirked at he opened the door to the car. The driver was closing the trunk on my suitcase.
“Promises.”
“Threats. Now get in.”
“Make me,” I laughed.
“Oh, I’ll do more than that, sweet one. But if you want me to beg first, I will. Listen. I love you, now please let me fuck you senseless. There.” And he pulled me into the car, briskly shut the door. He pressed the button for the intercom to the driver. “Drive around the park. Thanks mate.” Then to me, “We’ll go to the bus later, we’re a little early anyway.”
I threw my arms around his neck. “Just like old times.”
Tristan smiled, his eyes darkening. “Oh no, Lily love. These times are all new. Now show me how much you need me. Then—we go on tour.”
