He dragged his fingers across her clit, and she screamed, but he took it away before she could come.

“Please, please, please.” Now she was begging, and he relented. He sheathed himself and slid into her. Slowly.

The wet heat of her body almost killed him. He wanted to pound into her, but he had still had a thin shred of control left, and he wanted to make this last as long as possible.

He flexed his hips, pushing himself into her slick core. Slowly, carefully, determinedly. Over and over again.

Sinead gasped with each thrust, moaned with each withdrawal. She clutched his arm, her nails digging in, holding him in place. As if he was going anywhere.

He allowed himself to move a little faster, and her voice rose. Faster again, and she was screaming now. He wanted to draw this out for longer, but his control snapped.

He held her hips and pounded into her, harder and harder. His orgasm
travelled down his spine and concentrated in his balls until he could not hold it back, and he erupted into her. The back-twisting ecstasy was heightened by feeling her pulsing around his cock while she screamed out her pleasure. He pressed against her clit and was rewarded with a fresh set of spasms as she came again.

Finally, he managed to pull in a breath. “Vanilla enough for you?”

She opened one eye and glared at him. “Just remember, payback’s a bitch.” Then she fell asleep in his arms.

Epilogue

Moonlight shining through a crack in the heavy drapes woke her and Sinead sighed.  She was way too comfortable to move.   Niall’s heavy arm was draped across her and the warmth of his body was like a giant blanket enveloping her.

The weekend hadn’t been quite a disaster.  Maybe she hadn’t found her jewel-stealing sister, but she had found out a little about her. And they had saved
Killy. The downside was that the Fire of Autumn was still officially missing and she was still the number one suspect.

She had less than a week before she had to appear in court and face her accusers. Seven years in a Swiss prison – her stomach churned at the prospect.  She would get through this. She had to. They still had a few leads to chase down and…

“Go back to sleep.”  Niall’s voice rumbled against the back of her neck. “Everything will be fine, I promise you.”

Sinead snuggled deeper into his embrace, unwilling to fall asleep again.  Her nights of freedom were ticking away like minutes on a clock. She didn’t know how many more she would have like this one and for now, she wasn’t willing to miss a single moment.

When museum curator Sinead O’Sullivan is charged with stealing the Fire of Autumn, a dazzling ruby with a history of violence and treachery, bail is set at one million Swiss francs. Investigator Niall Moore is hired to stop her fleeing and to find the jewel.

The sexual chemistry between them is electric, but desperate as she is to convince Niall of her innocence, Sinead cannot reveal everything she knows about the theft. And the feisty red-head’s improbable story tells him that she is not to be trusted.

Yet it’s impossible to ignore the carnal heat between them. Niall, an expert interrogator, uses every trick of the trade – and every weapon in his erotic
armoury – to get at the truth. Sinead, a fast learner, counters his every move with one of her own. Thief and thief-taker fight for dominance and there can be only one winner.

But what happens in their red-hot game of cat-and-mouse when criminals chasing the precious jewel come after Sinead … and the stakes become deadly?

About
Evie Hunter

Evie
Hunter is actually two authors, Caroline McCall and Eileen Gormley, who met at a creative writing workshop in Dublin in 2010.  Eileen adores Regency romance while Caroline loves to write sexy sci-fi and paranormal stories.

On discovering that they shared a secret passion for erotic fiction and had scarily similar taste in books, they became the best of friends. Caroline’s compulsive fondness for cleaning and her serious addiction to chocolate is countered by Eileen’s hatred of all sweet things and her ability to write almost anywhere there is room for her laptop

Together, they got a chance to co-write a series of erotic novellas for an American publisher. When they completed the second one without killing each other, they decided to take on something bigger.

In 2012, they abandoned their families and locked themselves into a haunted house for the summer to write
The Pleasures of Winter
. Eventually, they emerged into daylight, saying 'Never again'.

Thankfully, it didn’t last for long.
The Pleasures of Summer
followed in May 2013, and then
The Pleasures of Autumn
in October 2013.
