“Mmm,” I murmur.

“What?” you ask, trailing a finger along my wet folds. “Did you like that?”

I bite down hard on my bottom lip and nod. My arms rest on either side of my body, and they’re aching to just grab your head and slam it right down on my drenched sex.

“What is it you want me to do?”

“I want you to make me come.”

You smirk. “And what will you do in return for me, Stel?”

A laugh escapes from my body. “Whatever the hell you want.”

Your smile grows, and there’s something in your eyes I haven’t seen before. “I want you to spend the night with me.”

I wasn’t expecting that. I wasn’t prepared. I know we said we love one another, but why would you want me to spend the night? We are just figuring this whole thing out. Why would you want to complicate it with asking that question?

Lazily, moving your fingers against me, you ask, “What’s running through your mind right now?”

I shake my head. “I can’t.”

“Yes, you can,” you counter. “What’s stopping you?”

I close my eyes and think for a second.
What is stopping me? Nothing
. Opening my eyes, I look into yours. You’re staring at me with such a need to understand. Breathing in deeply, I let it out and whisper, “Okay.”

Your eyes widen. “What?”

I laugh hard. “You heard me, Alex.”

“I need to hear you say it again.”

I lean up into you and smile big and proud. “I will stay the night with you, Alex McNeil.”

“Good,” you say happily, before leaning down and finishing the job you started. I close my eyes, enjoying the sensations, the tension buildup and the release. Followed by a night with you. You don’t let me get you off. You don’t want that, even though I try. Instead, all you ask is to hold me in your arms and fall asleep with me. And for the first time in my life, that’s what I do. I fall asleep in the arms of the person I love.

Chapter 38

Stella & Alex

I wake up and I don’t freak out. I’m not scared, frightened, or worried, because I’m exactly where I want to be. Wrapped in your arms. A leg over your waist. Head on your chest listening to your shallow breath. Closing my eyes, I release a sigh of contentment. For the first time in a long time I feel like myself. I’m happy with where I am and who I’m with.

“Good morning, beautiful,” you whisper.

I smile into your chest then look up to you. “Good morning.” A few strands of hair fall directly in my face. I get ready to move them out of the way when your hand comes up and does it for me.

“You’re so beautiful, Stella.”

I begin to lower my head, but you duck your hand underneath my chin, moving my head back up. “What?”

I shrug and scowl. “Sorry,” I mumble, remembering you don’t like it when I do that. “I’m just not used to someone complimenting me like that.”

“Thomas never did?”

I roll my eyes and scoff.

“What?” You ask confused.

“For someone who doesn’t want to talk about Thomas, you certainly talk about him a lot.”

Gripping me tighter, you kiss my forehead. “I have you now. I don’t have to think about the possibility of losing you.”

I move in your arms, making my way up your body. Kissing you on the tip of your nose, I look deep into twinkling, dark brown eyes. “I love you, Alex.”

While one hand stays firm on my ass, the other slowly trails up my back and into my hair. I gasp when you grip tightly to my hair and moan when you crush our lips together. A need comes to me. A need I only have for you now. “I love you, Stella. God, I love you so much,” you growl against my mouth before crashing our lips together again.

As we kiss, I move so I’m on top of you, kissing you hard, grinding into your body, letting you know just exactly what I need. I leave little kisses around your mouth up to your ear and along your jaw.

“Oh, I know what you want.” When you flip me, I laugh. Mouth opened. Head falling back. Eyes closing. I laugh so loud out of excitement because I know what you’re going to do to me. When your mouth meets my nub, the laugh I once had changes into a moan, sighing and calling out your name.

“Fuck,” I grunt when I fall back against the pillows and let the fan relieve my sweating body. “That was amazing.”

You laugh. “You could say that again.” Rolling over onto your side, you ask, “What would you like to do today?”

“Could we have breakfast? I’m pretty hungry.”

“I bet.” Turning around, you sit and get up from the bed.

“Where are you going?” I whine, rolling over onto my side taking in your beautiful body.

Nodding toward the bathroom you say, “I’m goin’ to get a shower. Would you like to join me?”

“You don’t even have to ask!” I say happily, jumping from the bed and racing you to the shower.

Opening the door to the fridge, you yell, “What would you like for breakfast?”

I grip your plump ass in my hands and whisper, “I don’t care. I got what I wanted three times.”

Turning around, you wrap me in your arms and growl. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.”

“Definitely.” I start to lean up on my tip toes to kiss your neck, something I know you can’t resist.

Instead, you grip my upper arms and say, “Don’t even think about it. We’re both starving. Besides, we have our whole lives to fuck.”

My eyes widen.

Looking back and forth between my eyes, you ask, “What, Stella?”

“Our whole lives,” I whisper.

You nod. “Yeah. I told you. I intend on keeping you. I know you’re not property, but I want you to be mine in every way possible.”

I can tell you’re nervous about what you think I’m about to say, but I surprise you, and myself. “Okay,” I say.

“Okay?” you ask, surprised.

I don’t take offense to it. Not in the least. “Yes.” I smile.

Wrapping your arms tightly around me, you lean down and kiss me. Hard. Soft. Everything in between. Like a roller coaster. The ups. Downs. The loops and zig-zags. Just like our relationship. We have gone through so much, and I can’t believe we’re finally here. “I love you so much,” you whisper in between light kisses all over my face.

I close my eyes and smile. “I love you too, Alex McNeil.”

“Good,” you hum in my ear before letting go of me and grabbing a carton of eggs from the fridge. “Do omelets work?”

I smile. “They’re perfect.” Grabbing the milk and cheese, I walk over to the counter and help. Crack the eggs. Pour the milk. Whisk. “I’m feeling so domestic,” I say sarcastically.

Nudging me, you laugh. “Hey, you better get used to this! I like cooking, and I like us cooking together even more.”

“Really?” I ask.

You quit whisking the eggs and look over at me. “Yeah. Stella, I love you, all of you, and I want a life with you. I want us to enjoy doing things together. I’m not saying we have to be by each other’s sides all the time, but I like doing things together.”

I smile. “Me too.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.” I nod.

Holding a finger up to me, you say, “And I’m not talking about just fucking. I’m talking about the picnics and going to the grocery store and doing the laundry. Watching television…”

I hold a hand up to your mouth and giggle. “Alex, babe. For the past few months all we’ve done is hang out. The first time we fucked was last night.”

You smile wide at that.

I smirk. “Call me crazy, but, yes, we are going to fuck…a lot.”

Darting your tongue out, you lick at my hand. It causes me to squeal and you laugh. “Good.”

My smile grows exponentially. “But I’m glad we didn’t. I’m glad you did what you did. That you got to know me for me. That you got to know every bad and good thing there is to know about me. That you waited until I was finally yours.” I stop and think. My brows scrunch and I bite at the inside of my lip.

“What?”

Closing my eyes, I shake my head.

“Stella?” you whisper as you wrap your hands around my face. “Look at me.”

I listen, and tears fill my eyes.

“Why are you crying?”

I close my eyes again and blurt, “What if I didn’t choose you, Alex? What if I chose Thomas? Or what if I didn’t choose either of you?”

“Open your eyes, beautiful.”

Slowly, I open them, my bottom lip quivering.

You lean in and kiss me softly on the forehead. “Why are you sad?”

I shake my head. “I’m not sad. Not sad at all.”

“Then what’s up?”

I smile. “You, Alex McNeil, are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can’t imagine my life without you in it. That’s why I didn’t choose Thomas, because if I was really happy with him or saw a potential future, then I never would’ve gone along with it. I think I knew even back then that there wasn’t a future involving him. I just never thought I would meet someone like you.”

You laugh. “Someone like me?”

I bring a hand up to your face. Closing my eyes, you lean into my touch, welcoming it. “Yes,” I whisper. “Someone like you. Someone who has a passion for life, love, and everything else in between that I’ve never seen before. From the moment I met you, I think I was yours.”

“Oh? Because I’m just that damn good looking?”

I shake my head and smirk. “No, smartass.” Clearing my throat, I say, “Because you pushed me to limits I didn’t think I was capable of. Made me question things I thought I already knew the answers to. Made me better. And not to be too cliché or a character out of a cheesy romance novel, but you made me yours.”

You look away from me and start searching through your pockets.

“What are you doing?”

Still searching, you ask, “I’m looking for some crackers.”

“Ah!” I yell. Smacking you on the arm, I laugh. “Smartass!”

Looking back at me, you smile, and leaning down, kiss me soft on the lips. “I will always be yours, Stella.”

I’m off in a state of bliss staring into your dark brown eyes until the fire alarm goes off.

“Shit!” you yell, turning the knob on the stove off. “I forgot I turned it on to start making our omelets.”

I laugh as I grab a dish towel and wave it in the air, trying to break up the smoke.

Grabbing the pan, you toss it in the sink and turn around. “Oh, you think this is funny?”

I stop waving the towel around and look directly at you. “I do. What are you going to do about it?”

A mischievous smile appears. “I’m going to spank you.”

Before I can even make a break for it, you wrap me in your arms, tossing me over your shoulder and carrying me into the living room.

Playfully, I smack at your back. “What the heck do you think you’re doing?” Tossing me on the couch, you turn me over and sit down on me. “I told you. I’m going to spank you.” Before I can say anything, you smack me hard on the ass.

“Alex!” I yell.

It makes you laugh. Gripping my sweatpants, you pull them down and smack again. “God, I love watching your ass shake. It’s so sexy,” you say approvingly while you rub the sore spot.

I wiggle and shake underneath. “Let me up!”

“Just o-o-one more,” you drawl.

“Alex!” I yell. “Don’t you dare.”

“What will you do for me if I stop?”

I laugh. “I don’t know. Whatever the hell you want. Just don’t hit me again.”

Quickly, you pull my pants back up. Getting up from the couch, you walk over, lean down, and look in my eyes. “Move in with me.”

It’s not a question, and I’m glad it isn’t. Because it’s something I want with you. Smiling, I shake my head. “No.”

“No?”

I try not to smile, but I can’t help it. I break out into a loud laugh. Moving back, I sit up and let you sit down next to me. “You really want me to move in with you?”

Grabbing me, you pull me onto your lap. “Yes, silly.” You laugh. “Why are you so surprised by that?”

“I don’t know,” I mumble. “I think I’m just surprised someone would willingly want to live with me or spend the rest of their life with me.”

“Guess what?”

“What?” I whisper.

Leaning in, you speak against my lips before kissing me. “I would be glad to.” You kiss me once more. “Want to give the whole making breakfast thing another try?”

I giggle and wrap my arms around your neck. “Yes, I would.”

While you finish up the omelets, I grab silverware, drinks, and the bowl of strawberries I chopped up for us. “Where would you like to sit?”

You shrug. “Wherever you want.”

I look out to your small patio. “The weather is still nice. Want to sit outside?”

“Sure thing, cutie patootie.”

I giggle and walk out to the patio. It’s beautiful, and for a few seconds I forget we’re in New York, and then the sound of car horns and people yelling come into play.

“Whatcha looking at?” you ask, walking out onto the patio carrying the two plates.

Sitting down in a seat, I mutter, “Nothing.”

“Liar.”

“Mmm...” I growl. “My pants
are
on fire.”

You sit down across from me and chuckle. “You really are a horny one, aren’t ya?”

I smile and start to cut into my omelet to take a bite.

“So you know you have to become a vegetarian now, right?”

Swallowing my bite and taking a gulp of cold orange juice, I say, “Yeah, right. I love my meat.”

“Oh, I know you do.” Stabbing into a strawberry, you put it in your mouth and chew. “So, when do you want to move in?”

“I don’t know.”

Setting the fork down, you grab a napkin and wipe your mouth. “When does your lease end?”

“U-u-um?” I ask myself while I start to count the days and try to figure out when it does end. “Three weeks.”

You nod. “That should be enough time.”

“Enough time for what?”

“For you to pack up your shit and move in here.” You smile.

“Alex?”

“Yeah?”

I bite at my bottom lip. “You don’t think that’s too soon?”

Taking a sip of juice, you say, “Stella, I want to start my life with you. I’m happy with you, and I know you’re happy with me. Don’t question it. Do what I’ve tried to show you since I met you. Go with the flow, because you only live once. Make every single day count and enjoy it.”

“I’m sorry for being such a girl.”
