Chapter Two

Anna thought about what had happened as she looked at the card.  Did they want something else besides friendship?  It would be pretty nifty and all, but Anna didn’t know how to approach this sort of topic.  She was bad with guys, and it made it even harder for her knowing that they were two hot billionaires.  Maybe it was better to not judge a book by its cover though, and soon Anna decided that maybe she should take a chance.

She punched the numbers into her phone, wondering how she would do this.  Both Adrian and Kenneth were total hotties, and Anna felt so different in comparison.  But it seemed like they were always hanging around one another, so maybe it made sense in a way to have both of them.

Of course, this made Anna redden even more.  She had never done anything with a guy besides make out, and the fact that she was thinking of not only one guy, but two of them, made her want it a bit more, but it also made her as red as a tomato.  These feelings were new to her, and in a way, she kind of enjoyed it in a strange, but arousing sense.

“Maybe this wasn’t so bad,” she said to herself.

The rest of the day was slow, until she headed out.  She went over to her favorite coffee shop, where her best friend Estelle worked.  She was a cute and fun woman, with long pink hair and golden brown eyes.  She was a free spirit, and she didn’t give a damn what others thought of her.  Anna went over there to get a bit of relationship advice, and to see her.

“Hey there darling.  You look worried,” she stated.

“Well yeah, I mean I have a bit of a strange thing going on,” Anna replied.  Estelle leaned over the counter, focusing her eyes on her.

“What’s wrong?” the barista asked.

Anna tried to subdue it, but then she felt herself ignore the feelings inside.  She had to tell her best friend about what happened.

“Well two guys came into the bookstore today,” she started.

“Oh, two of them?  My, you love to play with men’s hearts then,” she joked.

“It’s not like that!  It’s more like they both wanted me, and they gave me their numbers,” Anna explained.

Estelle was very curious about this.  She looked at her best friend with a mischievous look on her face, and she furrowed her brow.

“Well, what happened with that? Did they come over and whisk you away?  Or did you freeze up?” she asked.

“Not exactly.  I got their number, and we talked, but when I realized who it was, I flipped out and felt nervous.  That’s kind of why I’m here,” Anna explained.

“Oh really? Are they both princes or something? Because if so, you should totally get into that,” the woman said.

“Not exactly. See, they’re both billionaires, and they both like me,” Anna said.

Immediately, Estelle stopped what she was doing, practically dropping the mocha that she was making for Anna.  She looked at Anna with a shocked expression, and Anna flushed.

“You don’t mean Kenneth and Adrian, two of the hottest young billionaires?  If so, then you are damn lucky,” Estelle said.

“Yeah, it was them. They came in for a book, we chatted, and it was at the end I found out who they were.  They seemed interested in me, and I kind of liked it,” Anna replied.

“Well what the hell are you waiting for? Call their asses and go have some fun.  I mean, if they like you and you like them then what the hell is the problem?” the other stated.

Anna felt embarrassed by the effrontery of her.  Estelle always had quite the way with words.

“You’re right.  I mean, I like them and they like me,” she replied.

“Exactly, and that’s where you got to walk in and get what you want.  I’ll be there to cheer you on,” Estelle replied with a smile.

Anna nodded, knowing that her best friend is definitely going to be there for her.

“Thanks.  I may call them tonight.  I don’t want to rush into anything though,” she said.

“Then don’t.  Let things go their course. But seriously, if you bang them, tell me how they are,” she said with a smirk.

Anna flushed at those words. Estelle could be so uncouth at times.  Anna got her mocha and chatted with her friend for a little bit, trying to get her mind off the nerves that she felt.  She wondered how they would react to her, and if they still wanted to talk with her.

She thought at first about maybe just playing this off, and for the first week or so, she didn’t dare call them or anything.  She was too nervous about it. She didn’t want to get burned by them.  They were smoking hot after all.  Of course, when she told Estelle over the next couple of days that she hadn’t called them or anything yet, she told Anna to quit being a wuss and just do it.  Anna wanted to tell her best friend that she wanted to, but the fear of the moment was getting to her, and she didn’t want to get turned down by them if they actually wanted something.

The thoughts of them started to invade her every facet of her mind.  She wanted to talk to them, but she didn’t have the courage to do so.  But she tried to push the thoughts to the back of her mind, determined to not let it get to her.

But then it got even worse.  She felt like she was just making things worse if she didn’t say anything.  Finally, after a week of worry, she finally got the courage to pick up the phone, biting the bullet and getting ready to dial the numbers.  She knew she couldn’t wait forever.

“Hey there,” he said.

“Hey Adrian, it’s Anna.  From the bookstore,” she replied.

“Oh yes!  Kenneth and I were just talking about you.  We were saying how nice and cute you were,” he said with a friendly tone.  Of course, there was a flirtatious undertone to that, making Anna blush.

“Thanks.  But I was just calling you guys.  Since you gave me your number and all,” she admitted.

“Well I’m glad you did.  I hope our little secret didn’t scare you off,” he stated.

Anna nodded.  She knew about the secret, and it was a bit nerve-wracking, but she decided to just roll with it.

“Not really.  It was surprising, that’s for sure, but I’ve heard crazier,” she admitted.

“Well good. I’m glad that we didn’t manage to frighten you.  So what’s up?” he asked.

“Well I just wanted to say hi and stuff.  How are you?” she asked.

“Pretty good.  Just hanging out at the house, checking out the view of the lake.  What about you?” he asked.

He had a house by the lake. It sounded so romantic, but he played it off like it was nothing.

“Oh I just got back.  I went to go hang out with a buddy of mine. She works at a coffee shop,” Anna explained.

“That’s pretty cool.  You like coffee?” he asked.

“Very much so.  What’s your favorite?” she asked.

The two of them chatted about coffee for a while, but there were other things as well.   After a bit, Adrian told her he was giving her to Kenneth, and soon Kenneth spoke.

“Hey there.  How are you?” he asked.

“Pretty good. I was going to call you next, but I guess you were hanging out with Adrian,” she said.

“Yeah, we do that a lot. The two of us are kind of joined to the hip, so it’s normal to be chilling out at each other’s places,” he said.

“That’s cool.  So what you up to?” she asked.

“Oh just reading that book you got for us.  Man, it’s really interesting, and I’m glad that I got it.  I was happy to have picked up something new to read,” he replied.

“You read a lot?” Anna asked.

“Do I? I love to read. Some people find it strange that a guy like me prefers reading and being a lone to hanging out with people, but the truth is, I don’t really like people as much as I think I do.  I just kind of tolerate everyone,” he said.

“Well I guess we’re similar in that way,” Anna said.

“Yeah.  I’m glad to have met you.  You definitely are different.  I like that,” he stated.

The two of them talked as well, and Anna realized she had feelings for both of them, and they were kind of equal in a way. After a while, Anna looked over at the clock, and she practically dropped her phone.

“Shit it got very late,” she stated.

“Sure did.  By the way, you off tomorrow? We were thinking of hitting up the mall and we thought that you might want to come hang with us.  Plus you seem interesting, and I like you, the man said.

She listened to those words come off of Adrian’s mouth, and she felt her mind start to wander.  He was so perfect, and she wanted this now more than ever before.

“I would love to,” she replied.

“Sweet.  Then we’ll come grab you at your place around eleven.  What’s your address?” Kenneth asked.

She rattled it off, and the billionaire got it.

“Great, we’ll see you then,” he said.

She felt flush, realizing how easy it was to talk with them.  That was probably the best part of all of this.  She didn’t feel like she had to pretend that she was enjoying this sort of thing, but rather, she got along with both of them equally.

“Thanks,” she replied.

The phone clicked off, and Anna realized how she had been talking with them for hours.  A feeling of desire coursed through her body, but it was also nice to have that kinship that the two of them had with her.  It felt strange, but so nice as well. It was almost as if they got along better than she thought originally, and that’s what really excited her.  She couldn’t wait for what happened tomorrow, for she knew that it would be magical, and unlike anything she had ever experienced before.

Chapter Three

She got up, and Anna realized she had about an hour to get ready.  She tried to tame her curly brown hair, but it was harder than it looked.  However, she was able to get it to a manageable state, and soon she was dressing up casually for this.  It wasn’t really a date, but she wanted to look good for them.  It felt right in a way to get dressed up a little bit.  After all, they were billionaires.

She was ready just as she heard the knock on the door.  When she got up, she walked over to the door, opening it to see both of them.  They both had smirks plastered on their faces, and she grew nervous at the way they looked at her.  They were friendly, and she wondered how it would work out for them.

“Hey there,” Adrian said.

“Hey.  I’m glad to be hanging out with you today,” she replied.

“We are too.  So, you ever been to Greenstone mall?” Kenneth asked.

That was the mall that had all the clothes rich people bought.  She wanted to go there, but she never had the money to.

“I’ve wanted to go there, but I haven’t,” she admitted.

“Well we’re taking you out there today.  We figured we could have a bit of fun with you and get to know you better,” Kenneth explained.

So they wanted to get to know her better? She wondered in what way did they want that. Was she really that interesting and someone that they were determined to get to know better?   She reddened as she thought of that, realizing how dirty her mind was going.  She wanted to keep it innocent between them for now.

“Well let’s head on out,” she replied.

She locked up and headed to their car, a black sports car that looked brand-new.  She sat in the back, with the two of them in front.

“We were going to bring the limo out, but we gave the driver the day off.  You okay with sitting back there alone?” Kenneth cooed.

“Yeah.  That’s fine,” she replied.

These two had so much money, but they were so real as well.  She couldn’t believe that they gave a damn about an awkward girl like her.  But in a sense, the two of them weren’t your typical guys either. They were nerdy, cute, and overall really friendly to converse with.  She liked that, and while they were in the car, they talked.

“So you sleep okay?” Adrian asked.

“Yeah.  It was nice talking with you two though.  I haven’t really been that open with anyone ever,” she admitted.  She did talk with Estelle a lot, but when it came to just speaking to people and not feeling like there was a wall there, these two were the best.

“Well we’re glad.  We don’t want to make you feel awkward or anything. Besides, we’re awkward too,” Adrian replied.

“I get it.  So how in the world did you guys become the people that you are today?” she asked.  Anna was curious as to how they accumulated their wealth.

“Well, we started a business together back in college, and soon it grew.  We never thought it would reach the levels that it did, and soon we were way richer than we expected.  But we did start off as normal people, which is different from many of these other guys out there.  Some of them have such and ego because they got it from mommy and daddy, but the truth is, we worked hard for it, and that’s why we relate more to regular dudes and girls than anything else,” Kenneth explained.

So they weren’t born rich.

“Wow, that’s impressive.  I was shocked when I found out who you two were, but at the same time, it wasn’t a huge deal.  I mean, after all it’s not like you guys are totally different from me, which is what I like,” she explained.

“That’s what we dig about you Anna.  We know that you’re real, and to be honest, you’re the realest person that we know besides each other.  We like that, and we want to continue to be like that,” Kenneth replied.

She felt like she was in heaven when she heard those words.  The two of them were so perfect, but at the same time they didn’t rub it in anyone’s face. Rather, they just acted chill, and that’s what mattered.

“Well we’re here.  Don’t worry about money or anything, we just want to take you out.  You seemed cool, and we consider you a friend,” Adrian said.

Anna was shocked by this.  They were also super humble as well.  How in the world did she get mixed up with these two? She must have won the lottery or something.

“Thanks.  I appreciate it,” she replied.

“Not a problem.  We like it when we can spoil girls, especially ones that deserve it,” Adrian replied.

She felt happy when she heard that, but she didn’t pay much attention to that, for soon they were heading on out of there.  The mall was bigger than she expected, and the stores were expensive as hell.  But that wasn’t the focus of the time that they spent together.  Rather, the three of them just sat down and chatted for a bit.  A few people looked their way, but they waved at them, an indication to tell them to move the hell on.

“So do you get a lot of girls fawning all over you?” Anna asked.

“Yeah, but we deal with them personally.  We don’t really like it, and sometimes we have to tell them to back the fuck off.  We don’t really have eyes for those types of girls, because we know the truth behind them,” Adrian stated.

That was true.  She knew how they were.  Those types of girls only wanted money, and the fact that they were both young, hot billionaires probably didn’t help either.

“Well if you want to feel better, I don’t like you guys because you’re rich.  I don’t even care about that, I like you for being you,” she replied.

Kenneth smiled at her, pulling her into an embrace. Adrian did the same thing, causing Anna to turn red.

“Thank you Anna.  You don’t know how much we appreciate those words,” he said.

Anna felt red in the face. They didn’t leave her side.  It was only until a couple of people stopped to look at them that they pulled away,

“Let’s buy a few things shall we?” Kenneth asked.

She felt awkward about it but she agreed to it.  They took her to a few normal stores, buying her some clothes they thought looked good on her.  They then went to a fancy dress shop, where they got her a fancy ball gown that looked pretty on her and radiated beauty. They even took her to one of the hair salon places and had her haircut, giving her a trendy and cute pixie cut that highlighted her face.  She felt like a princess as the two of them continued to spoil her.

“You don’t have to do this you know,” she stated.

“But we want to.  Plus, we have a surprise for you once we get you back home,” Adrian explained.

She wondered what it was, and soon, she was starting to grow curious about this.  They finished up, and at the end of the day, they dropped her off at her apartment.  She looked at them, and they stared at her.

“You’re probably wondering what the proposal is,” Kenneth stated.

“Well yeah.  You hammed it up pretty well in the mall,” she remarked.

“Well, we have this gala thing that we have to go to. We were wondering if you wanted to come along.  We really like you, and you’re a great friend,” Kenneth asked.

She thought about this.  It was kind of the perfect thing to hear.

“I would love to.  When is it?” she asked.

“Friday night.  We’ll pick you up, and you just get yourself ready.  You’ll look great no matter what,” Adrian cooed.

She reddened, realizing that the two of them were definitely making her excited for this. However, she looked at them, nodding in assent.

“Well then I would love to,” she replied.

“Good.  Then get yourself inside, and get ready on Friday,” Kenneth replied.

She nodded, grabbing her bags and heading on in.  The two of them smirked, and she smiled back.  They definitely had a way with words, and they had a great way of getting under her skin. She wondered what was going to happen next, but little did she know that this party would change everything.
