The drive to the restaurant was quick, but the conversation was lively.
Austin
had never had such a good time with a woman before. She was smart, witty, had a great sense of humor, and was simply a fun person to be around.

Once they were in the restaurant and seated at their table, he couldn’t take his eyes off Kara. She was absolutely breathtaking, and he didn’t think she realized how sexy she looked to him tonight.

“Thank you for coming to dinner with me tonight.”

“You’re welcome. I’m glad we were able to connect before you left for home. Are you enjoying yourself this weekend with your friend Jack?”

“Yes, it’s always good to see him. But, we’re not here to talk about Jack. I’m here to learn more about you.”

“Well, what do you want—”

Austin
interrupted her. “I couldn’t get your kisses out of my mind last night. I went to sleep thinking about you.” His heated gaze lingered on her face. “Kara, you need to know that, before this night is over, I’m going to taste you again.”

At the shocked look on her face,
Austin
gave her a smile that held many wicked promises. He was glad he’d shocked her. He wanted to keep her on her toes, because tonight was only going to get better. He could live a dozen lifetimes, and never would he want a woman as much as he wanted Ms. Kara Thomas tonight.

This weekend would be over soon, and he wanted to savor every second he could have with her. One of the other reasons he had come to up visit Jack was that he was looking at retail space for his business.
Arlington
,
Virginia
was perfect for their setup since there were plenty of high-profile clients that he could tap into. Kara didn’t know that yet, but as they got to know each other better, he would tell her more of his plans.

The waiter coming to take their order broke into his thoughts. When he heard what Kara ordered, he was glad she wasn’t one of those women who lived on salads and water with lemon. He placed his order as well and gave the waiter a moment to walk away.

“So, any response to what I said?”

“No. How am I supposed to respond to that? Don’t you think that was rather presumptuous?”

“No.”

At the sight of her snapping her jaw shut, he laughed in a low, sultry way that sent a signal that he was serious as a heart attack. He saw fire in her eyes and knew he had pushed her to the limit. She didn’t seem the type to let a man walk over her, but then again, he wasn’t an average man.

“Excuse me for a moment. I need to go to the ladies’ room.” At the speed she walked away, he had a feeling it was more to calm herself down. He took a sip of his wine and settled down to wait for her to accept what was in store for her tonight.

* * * *

“Arrogant ass. Just who does he think he is trying to get me all hot and bothered?” Kara entered the bathroom and walked up to the mirror. Her eyes were wide and bright, and her cheeks had a healthy flush to them. “Okay, so it’s working. I’m all hot and bothered, and he knows it. Breathe, girl, just breathe.”

A woman flushed and came out of the stall, giving Kara an odd look. “Yeah, I talk to myself. What about it?” The woman turned away and quickly left the bathroom, not saying a word in response.

Counting to ten, then to twenty, she forced herself to calm down. She could do this. One of the rules she, Lisa, and Heather had agreed on was if they were going to stay the night with a guy, they had to let the others know where they were, and they had to have a stash of condoms readily available. She wasn’t ready to make the call to Heather just yet, but the possibility was there.

Grabbing her courage by the balls, she refreshed her lipstick and walked out of the ladies’ room.

Walking up to the table, she noticed that the food was already there, but
Austin
had not yet begun to eat. “I’m back. Ooh, this looks good.”

“Yes, you do.” She looked up at him and tried to read what was going on in his mind. Suddenly, even with this delectable food in front of her, she wasn’t as hungry as she once thought.

“Thank you.” She carved into her filet mignon and took a bite. It was really good. She looked across at
Austin
and noticed that he hadn’t taken a bite yet. “Aren’t you hungry?”

“Not for steak.” When he licked those gorgeous lips and looked in the vicinity of her breasts, she knew she was going down in a blaze of glory. There was no way she was walking away from him tonight. She was going to take this bull by the horns and ride his ass hard for as long as she could. She looked up into his eyes and saw that they were crinkled, as if he were trying not to laugh. She knew her face must have shown what she thinking about, because his mouth quirked up at the side giving her a half-smile.

“I’m not that hungry for food right now, but I’ll tell you what I am hungry for.” At his pause, her body unconsciously leaned forward. “Kara? Do you want me to tell you?”

“Well, I don’t know if you should. It might start something you’re not able to finish.” She was definitely headed into dangerous waters . . . without a life jacket.

“Oh, I’m very reliable. I always finish what I start. Well, everything except this dinner. You don’t seem too hungry yourself. Are you?”

His voice was intoxicating her. “Am I what?”

Damn, that smile again. “Hungry?”

Breathlessly, she responded. “Not really.”

“Kara, I know we just met, but I’d like to spend more time with you tonight. I don’t want this night to end. What about a nightcap at your house?”

Her house? Was she ready for this with him? Hell yeah, she was ready. She was going to eat this man up tonight.

“Yes, my house.” She was amazed at how quickly he retrieved the check and had them in his vehicle after she said yes. She would think he’d broken several speed limits to get them on the road and on their way. She giggled at the thought. He was damn eager to be with her, and that definitely boosted her ego up a few notches.

In what seemed like a five-minute drive, which was odd since it took thirty minutes to drive to the restaurant, they pulled up to her house. The moment of truth was here, and she pulled out her phone to call Heather. After a few rings, she heard Heather pick up.

“Hello.”

“Hey, Heather, it’s Kara. Umm, I just wanted to let you know that Austin and I are back at my house.”

“So, you finally gonna get you some, huh?” She heard the laughter in Heather’s voice.

“Girl, don’t start with me. Rules are rules, so I’m calling to tell you the plan for the night. When you call tomorrow, make it after 11 a.m. Got it?”

Heather laughed. “Okay, got it. Have fun, and call me as soon as he leaves. Bye, hon.” Heather clicked off, and Kara put her phone back in her purse.

Austin
was waiting patiently outside the vehicle until she hung up the phone. Once she put it back in her purse, he opened the car door to help her out, and when she placed her hand in his, she felt that zing of electricity again. When they came together, she knew it would be intense.

As they walked into her three-level townhouse, he glanced around, and she could see him taking in the design of her home. “Come in, and have a seat. Would you like a glass of wine?” When she turned around to address him, she noticed he was close enough to touch.

“No. I need to kiss you before I lose my mind.” With that, he grabbed her hips and pulled her closer to him. In her heels, her mouth was just a few inches below his, and he looked like he really enjoyed the feeling of having her in his arms. Leaning over, he took her lips in a kiss that spoke of things to come.

He was kissing her like a man in the midst of desperation. He held her close as if she was his last chance at happiness and he was never letting her go. He took her breath into him as if her life were being joined with his. Each thrust of his tongue in her mouth was slow and sweet. And yes, while she knew this was probably moving too fast, the steamy warmth in her body kept on building higher, and she yielded to him in ways she’d never thought possible. She felt herself melting in his arms and wished he would never let her go.

He walked her backwards until her backside hit the wall separating the kitchen from the living room. “Oh, baby, you feel so good. I could kiss these plump lips of yours all night. I need to be inside you.”

“Come to my bedroom.” She grabbed his hand and led him up the stairs to her private sanctuary. Not many men had been up here with her, but for some reason, she didn’t want to be with
Austin
in any other place.

Chapter Five

As Kara led him farther into the bedroom and kicked off her shoes,
Austin
tried to contain himself. His erection was near to bursting out of his pants, and he was sure he was about to embarrass himself.

She was beautiful, probably ten years younger than he was, and on the verge of giving herself to him. He knew he didn’t deserve this gift of her body, but he couldn’t turn away. She was so damn sexy, and tonight she was going to be his.

He lifted her hands to his chest and felt Kara unbutton his shirt. Her touch was feather light and sensual, and she took her time undressing him. She was boldly caressing him as she released each button from the hole, opening his chest to her gaze. Once fully unbuttoned, she pushed his shirt off of his shoulders and let it slide to the floor.

He took a deep breath and laid his hands on her shoulders and caressed her neck. When she turned into his hands and kissed his palm, his breath caught. Oh God, he could fall in love with this woman. Her hands continued on their path and went to the top of his slacks and began to undo his belt and clasp. She slid his zipper down and gave him a sexy grin as she reached down into his underwear and wrapped her hands around him.
