The rest of the day, I felt like I was floating around on those champagne bubbles. I couldn’t wait to see Sam’s surprise.

School ended, and I walked so fast to the corner bus stop to meet him I was almost running. When I got there and peered around the side of the bus shelter, my heart dropped.

Damn
. He wasn’t there yet. I sat on the bench and looked at my watch. No big deal, I could wait, he must have gotten held up. I made myself comfortable, watching the cars stop at the light before moving on. My stomach rumbled and I thought about Kells.

What about a different place to eat tonight?

The suggestion just dropped into my mind out of nowhere. It made me feel nervous, that change in the routine that made me sane, but maybe it wasn’t really the routine that kept me sane. Maybe it was me who was keeping me sane now.

Just then a beautiful black and silver motorcycle pulled up to the light. A pulsing song was cranked, and the singer was crooning about having moves like Jagger. It took a second for me to recognize it was Maroon 5. I smiled at that—it made me think of Sam singing “She Will Be Loved” to me this morning. I used to like the band.

The motorcyclist steered the bike around the corner and parked at the curb. The music was still playing as he stood and dismounted the bike. I could have sworn he was staring at me through the helmet. I shifted my gaze away from him, I was sort of staring, but it was a particularly beautiful bike …

I gave the driver another glance out of the corner of my eye. His black jeans and jacket matched the bike—sleek and sexy. At that moment, he lifted his arm, pointed to me and gave me a “come here” gesture with his index finger.

A shock of electricity bolted through me.

The driver lifted his black and silver helmet.

SAM?
I felt an excited smile spread across my face. “SAM!”

He wore the sexiest grin as I ran into his arms.

“What is this?” I asked then purred, “And, oh my God, you look so hot.”

“Now
that
was the response I wanted.” Sam smiled, wrapped his arm around my wrist and pulled me against his hard body, taking my breath away. “Your helmet is on the back.”

My
helmet?” I echoed.

“You’re not ready for a car, but you can ride a bus; so it’s obviously not the danger of being on the road, but the idea of being trapped in an actual car that freaks you out. And I’m not riding on the bus every time we go someplace so …”

“So you bought a bike?” I asked wide-eyed with shock.

“And, baby, you are so worth it.”

He bought a bike for me?
For a moment I was unsure about getting on, but then I realized that I wasn’t feeling anything but excitement over the prospect of sitting behind Sam on that bike. He was right, this was different than a car—and I could do it.

“Get the helmet on because I can’t wait to feel your soft tits pressing into my back, your legs spread out around me and your thighs tightening against my hips. Oh, yeah, we needed a bike.”

Adam Levine was singing about capturing his girl’s tongue, kissing her drunk and owning her with one look into his eyes. Yeah, that could have been Sam’s theme song.

“Maroon 5?” I cocked an eyebrow.

He brought his voice low and it was thick with lusty desire. “Oh, my sexy kitten, this song is you and me tonight.”

Oh. My. God.

He let me go to grab the other helmet and handed it to me. He looked up and down my body then said, “I’m hard just thinking about that little grey skirt hiked up high on your thighs while the bike hums against your clit.”

I swore I could feel my heartbeat throb between my legs.

“First …” Sam was close again as he reached up behind my head and pulled out my hair pin, spilling my blonde curls over my shoulder. My breath caught in my chest. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fantasized about doing that … and this.”

He smashed his mouth over mine, his tongue plunging between my lips, tangling with my tongue. His cool lip ring smoothly contrasted the heat we were making. I could feel the cotton between my legs beginning to soak through.

“Now, put that gorgeous body made for loving me over that seat,” he ordered.

I decided to give him a little show. Bringing my hands down to the hem of my grey pencil skirt, I hitched it up high, just barely keeping my ass—and other parts—covered so I could straddle the black leather seat.

“Oh. Fuck. Me,” Sam growled as he watched me.

“I intend to.” I didn’t know if it was the music or Sam’s desire blazing in his eyes, but I felt emboldened. It was so liberating.

A cocky smile lifted his face into a bring-it-on expression. He climbed on, settling himself between my legs, and we took off down the street.

Wonderfully, I found myself listening to music I loved but not thinking of anything except for Sam. Calling it our song for tonight was brilliant. We rode some miles to the edge of the city and Sam pulled into a liquor store.

“What are we doing?” I asked as he set the kickstands down with his boot.

“Knocking off #3.” He reached his hand out for mine.

My goal list! Get drunk.
I got off the bike, thinking about how long it’d been since I’d drunk hard liquor.

“I’m going to get you nice and drunk and take advantage of you.” He thought for a second. “Do you get extra points if you do an item on the list more than once? Because the way I see it, #6 is going to get a lot of action.”

I started to laugh as he hugged me from behind and pushed us through the doors of the store.

“So, what was your poison?” He stood in front of the first row of bottles, which included vodkas and schnapps.

“I’ve always liked coconut rum,” I mused. “Especially with pineapple juice. It’s been a while.”

Sam bought a bottle of Captain Morgan Parrot Bay coconut rum. We stopped at a grocery store and picked up ice and pineapple juice then drove into the garage at his apartment building.

“I love the bike, Sam. I’m flattered that …” I stuttered. I really didn’t have the words to express my feelings about the gesture, knowing he’d bought it so we could be together.

“Come on.” He took my hand and laced my fingers between his.

Sam pushed the button for the elevator. The doors separated and, as we stepped inside, Sam dropped the bag to the floor, spun me into the empty elevator, pinning the hand he was holding up against the wall over my head while his other hand stilled my hip. Playing out the sexy song we’d been listening to, he captured my tongue and kissed me drunk. He slid his hand up and cupped my breast. I tried lifting my leg to put it around him, but the skirt constricted my legs. He noticed.

“Don’t move, baby,” he instructed, stooping over a bit.

I heard a long, loud
RRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPP
!

“Now, that’s better.” He grazed his hot hand up the side of my thigh, then got a purchase on the back of my leg, almost at my ass, and brought my leg up to his waist as he pressed the black denim restraining his gorgeous erection into my soft, waiting sex.

He had me moaning as he worked my mouth and tongue again with his own and cradled my ass in his hand as I held him with my leg. Seconds later, I felt his fingertips tickle over my panties, making me melt into a delta as his touch sent electric pulses through my core.

OH MY GOD!
AND…
We were in a public elevator quickly rounding third base!
AND …
I didn’t give a shit!
My body was completely surrendered to him.

When the elevator lurched to a stop, in one fell swoop Sam smoothed down my skirt, picked up our bag and brought his hands to his sides.

I tried to act normal, but I was a disheveled, hot mess when three guys stepped into the elevator.

“Hey, Sam.”

“Hey, James.” Sam stretched his arm over my shoulders, pulling me against him. I became very aware that the side of my skirt was split to my hip! “We’re going up you know.”

“Yeah, so are we, there’s a party getting started up on the roof. You should come,” James said.

“Maybe we will. Thanks.”

Our floor light turned on and we left the elevator. As soon as the doors closed and we were alone again I burst out laughing.

“Oh my God! They almost caught us!” I was laughing like a lunatic.

Sam beamed as he watched me laugh.

“What is it?” I tried to suck in a lungful of air.

“You’re the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen.”

I bit my lip and blushed.
Oh, is that all?

When we reached his room, he stopped me before putting the key into the lock, and said, “Get ready for your next surprise.”

“Really?” I replied, rather giddy.

“Close your eyes for me.”

I did and he walked me carefully into his apartment.

“Hey! Don’t peek,” Sam scolded.

“I didn’t,” I defended myself.

“I’d have to punish you if you did,” Sam breathed down over my ear.

I shivered, then sighed, “That might make me peek.”

He led me a bit further before saying excitedly, “Okay! Open them.”

I did. “What the …?”  My arms fell to my sides and I felt my mouth gape open. “How did ...? I …”

“They’re all yours. Whatever you like, keep. Whatever you don’t like, we can donate to Goodwill.” He pointed to the fourth clothing rack over. “And for those, I’m expecting a personal Victoria’s Secret runway performance.”

“Sam …” I was stunned.

“Baby, if it’s too big of a push, you can wait until you’re ready. I just thought it would be easier for you to shop from the privacy and comfort of my apartment …”

“Sam!” I interrupted. “I love it! I love what you did!” I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck. “How did you do it?”

“Well—” he started as I walked to the first rack.

“How did you know my size?” I marveled, looking at the tags on the brand new clothes.

“Let me walk you through it.” He came over and took my hand. “I checked out

your closet and then today during school I cut my classes and went shopping.”

I set my hand on the first rack—the gleaming, steel department store clothing rack was dense with hanging shirts and blouses.

He continued, “I picked out the ones I thought you might like—or that I’d like to see you in. I also called my fashion guru sister, Jules, when I felt stuck. First rack: tops. Second rack: bottoms—jeans, casual pants and skirts. Third rack: dresses. Fourth rack (my favorite): lingerie. And last, as you can see, are the shoes.”

I looked at the designers: Lucky, Dolce and Gabbana, Aeropostale, True Religion, Guess, and of course Victoria’s Secret.

“I can’t accept all this!” I exclaimed. “It must have cost a fortune, Sam!”

“Yes you can, yes it did, and it doesn’t matter. I make good money.” He sounded self-assured. “What matters is that you’re happy.”

“I’m so happy!” I was actually overcome by the gesture.

“Good, I’ll make drinks while you shop.” He tugged at the skirt I was wearing. “Looks like you need some new clothes, this is all ripped up.” He grinned at his handiwork and walked into the kitchen.

I stared back at the clothes, which were easily worth thousands of dollars.

“I want the strip tease and everything!” Sam called out “So don’t try anything on yet.”

I laughed. Wow, he and his sister had excellent taste.
Could I really accept all of this from him?

His disembodied voice floated into the room, along with the sound of ice cubes tinkling against glass. “Stop analyzing the situation, Jolie, and enjoy it.”

How did he know?
I took a deep breath and let it back out slowly. I remembered Sam’s words about brothers and sisters. Eth would
want
me to do this.

Detaching myself a bit from my thoughts, I started putting together outfits I liked the most. Pretty poet shirts with skinny jeans, band t-shirts with flairs, sexy tops with ankle length skirts.

“Don’t forget to choose some for work.” Sam came up behind me and put a glass of sweet smelling pineapple juice and coconut rum into my hand. The color was bright and tropical. Joyful.

“Thank you.” I looked into the surface of the cheery yellow liquid. “For everything, Sam.”

“You”—he kissed my neck—“are very welcome.”

I took a sip of the cool drink. “This is delicious.”

“Yeah, I like it too. Did you like that song I had on earlier, ‘Moves Like Jagger?’”

“Yes, very much,” I answered

“All good feelings?”

“All good feelings,” I was happy to report.
