“Did Sam say
anything to Keira?” Daniel asked. “About him staying a wolf all
that time?”

Jordan shook
his head. “No, not yet. Whatever his reasons for not shifting back
to human, I guess he’ll tell us when he’s ready.”

They watched
them for a little longer—Ash jogging the length of the beach with
Sam at his heels—and Daniel marvelled at how different his life was
now.

The facility
had been destroyed—burnt to the ground—along with all the
information they’d collected on the altereds. Matt had seen to
that. Mr Shaw and Dr Adams had chosen to stay behind in London.
Apparently they’d objected to Chambers’ plans, and he’d locked them
up to use as test subjects. The two unconscious people in the cages
had not made it.

Daniel had
their contact details, but he doubted he’d keep in touch. As far as
he and the others were concerned, they wanted to put the whole
episode behind them.

Jordan
squeezed him tight and kissed Daniel’s cheek. “Keira and Charlie
took Matt into Penzance to buy a new sofa and chairs.” He nosed
down along Daniel’s jaw, nipping at him with the barest hint of
teeth. “We could have the place to ourselves….”

He let that
piece of information hang there, and Daniel grinned.

“What would we
possibly need an empty house for?”

Jordan’s
answering growl sent a shiver down his spine.

“Oh, I can
think of one or two things.” Jordan’s hands roam lower, palming the
front of Daniel’s jeans. “Come on… you know you want to.” He found
the head of Daniel’s cock through the denim and teased it, sliding
his fingers back and forth until Daniel got hard. “See?”

“Hmm….” Daniel
closed his eyes, enjoying the way Jordan kept stroking him through
his clothes.

“Come on,”
Jordan whispered, pressing a little harder at the base of Daniel’s
dick and making him moan. “Let’s go back.”

Daniel didn’t
protest when Jordan stepped away, tugging him by the wrist. They
stumbled along the rough path back to the farm, stopping every few
feet or so to kiss.

They had a lot
of land. The farm had been relatively cheap, a little run-down and
old-fashioned, but it had seemed perfect for them—remote,
surrounded by fields, with two big barns that they planned to
convert later. For now they were all staying in the farmhouse while
they renovated.

Privacy was
extremely limited, and an opportunity to have the place to
themselves was an opportunity not to be missed.

The old
farmhouse door creaked as they entered, and Daniel barely had time
to lock it behind them before Jordan had him pinned up against it.
He laughed as Jordan wasted no time getting his hands inside
Daniel’s coat and under his jumper.

Daniel
flinched a little when Jordan found his bare skin. “Shit, your
hands are bloody freezing! You could have warmed them up a little
first.”

“Where’s the
fun in that?”

Jordan smiled
against the side of Daniel’s neck, kissing that spot beneath his
ear that made him tilt his head to the side and sigh. It was one of
Jordan’s favourite spots despite his protests to the contrary.

Jordan rubbed
his face against Daniel’s neck at least once every day. He’d been
like that ever since they escaped the facility. Not clingy—because
that would probably piss Daniel off no end—but he liked to have his
scent on Daniel. He said it was
a shifter thing
.

Matt found it
hilarious and would hug Daniel just to piss Jordan off and force
him to do it all over again.

Daniel would
never admit it out loud, but it was one of his favourite things
too. It made him feel both safe and as horny as anything—the way
Jordan wanted to let everyone know that Daniel was his.

Jordan pushed
his hips forward, the hard line of his cock pressing into Daniel’s
hip.

“Mmm….” Daniel
bit his lip, thrusting up against Jordan and debating whether
they’d get away with fucking against the door.

“Keira would
kill us,” Jordan mumbled between kisses as though reading Daniel’s
mind.

The thought of
an angry Keira was enough to get Daniel moving. He pushed Jordan
back a little and rested his hands on the flat of Jordan’s stomach.
The muscles beneath his T-shirt contracted as Daniel dug his
fingers in. “Upstairs, then.” He pushed hard until he forced Jordan
to take another step back.

They stared at
one another for a second longer, and then Jordan grabbed Daniel’s
hand, practically dragging him up the narrow staircase and along
the hallway to their bedroom at the back of the farmhouse. They
shrugged out of their coats as they went, tumbling over the
threshold, and narrowly missed hitting the chest of drawers to the
left of the door before falling onto the bed in a tangled heap.

Daniel grunted
as Jordan landed on top of him, his weight pressing Daniel down
into the thick quilt.

“Sorry.”
Jordan grinned at him. His teeth showed the barest hint of fang,
and he ran his tongue over them when he caught Daniel looking.

Jordan always
shifted to some degree when they were like this. Never fully, but
usually his teeth or claws came out, and on the odd occasion
both.

Daniel found
it incredibly hot.

He loved the
way Jordan didn’t hold back, the way he didn’t feel the need to
censor himself. Sometimes Daniel’s accelerated healing came in
handy—slow as it was in comparison to Jordan’s—but he never felt in
danger.

The way
Jordan’s wolf hovered just below the surface, his animal side
slipping out now and again, made everything so much more intense.
Even before they’d got undressed, Jordan’s eyes had that wildness
to them as he looked down at Daniel.

“I love you,”
Jordan said, leaning down to press a soft kiss to Daniel’s lips.
“So much.”

Daniel sighed
into the kiss. He wrapped his arms around Jordan’s back and spread
his legs wide for him to settle between them. It brought their
cocks together again, and Daniel groaned, wanting to be naked
already.

“I love you
too,” he whispered against Jordan’s lips. “Now get your clothes
off.”

Jordan huffed
out a laugh. “So romantic.” But he sat up and pulled off his shirt,
so Daniel did the same.

They had to
wriggle under the quilt by the time they were naked, the
unseasonably cool weather seeping into the room and making it too
cold not to. Spring definitely hadn’t come to their part of
Cornwall yet.

“Hmm… much
better.” Jordan settled back between Daniel’s legs. “What do you
want?” He bent to plant warm wet kisses along Daniel’s
collarbone.

Daniel closed
his eyes and relaxed into the soft pillows. Jordan felt heavy and
comforting, wrapped around him like a warm blanket against the
chill.

“This,” Daniel
said, holding Jordan close and rolling his hips to create a little
friction. “I want to stay like this.”

“Yeah,
okay.”

With a little
lube to ease the way, they moved against each other in a slow,
languorous rhythm. Jordan hooked his hands underneath Daniel’s
shoulders, the tips of his claws pressing into his skin, and the
pressure steadily increased as they got closer to the edge.

Daniel hooked
one leg over the back of Jordan’s thigh, giving him a bit more
leverage. He gripped Jordan’s biceps, feeling the pull of Jordan’s
muscles as he held on to Daniel and rubbed off against his hip.

They took
their time—no pressure to try and finish quickly, and no housemates
to hear them. Daniel took full advantage of the empty house,
tipping his head back and crying out when Jordan bit down into the
base of his throat.

Jordan’s fangs
were fully extended, sinking deep into Daniel’s skin, and the sharp
spike of pain added to the pleasure rocketing through him. Daniel
held tight to Jordan’s arms as he came, cursing up a storm—just
because he could.

Jordan kept
biting him, holding Daniel still as he thrust against him a couple
more times, and then he shuddered to a stop with a soft groan
before slowly extracting his teeth and laving at the sore spots. He
rolled onto his back beside Daniel.

“We should
clean up,” Daniel said after they’d lain there panting for a few
minutes. “The others’ll moan about the smell.”

“Yeah.”

Daniel heard
the smile in Jordan’s voice and turned his head to look at him.
“You wanna?”

Jordan’s smile
got wider, and he scooted onto his side, one hand already reaching
out to play with the mess they’d made on Daniel’s stomach. He ran
his fingers through it, smearing come over Daniel’s hips and belly,
a soft growl rumbling up from his chest.

“They’ll make
us eat outside,” Daniel moaned, albeit half-heartedly.

“Don’t
care.”

Daniel closed
his eyes and let Jordan do as he wanted, the repetitive motion of
his hand making Daniel sleepy. “Hmm… me neither.”

“That’s good,”
Jordan whispered, pulling Daniel close and cuddling him. “Because I
want you to smell like me.”

Daniel smiled,
drifting off as Jordan’s final word registered.

“Always.”
