“My father’s name is Domiano Ruse, a king and a boss of his own empire. The best man the world would ever know. He had me spoiled, so spoiled, I had a Porsche with my name on the plates at the age of five even though I couldn’t drive. Our estate… enormous beyond belief the kind Donald Trump gets his team to build for the wealthy.” Tiffany explained, her eyes fell to her lap. “My mama was a great woman a strong woman she always smiled and she loved my daddy. I never knew the world held black folk like her and my father, but somebody grew angry of my father’s reign.” Tiffany said. “I was a little girl but I was of age to know what was going on. When my parents were murdered none of the people who were close came around to check on me. In the end our housekeeper adopted me.” She said, when she thought about her parents it hurt so much, but talking about them to Messiah made her feel better.

“My daddy use to tell me all the time to grow up, be strong, and don’t cry over things or people who won’t cry over me. As a child he’d talk to me about everything that was going on; I knew he sold drugs and killed people who betrayed him.”

“So all this time I thought that you were just like me, and you were born rich?” Messiah said throwing the roach out the window.

“You assumed I was raised like you, but I never told you what background I came from because it was too painful,” Tiffany said.

“I gave you respect by not asking either because you told me they were murdered so I did assume that because of your personality.”

“What the fuck that mean and why do you want to know this now?” Tiffany asked with an attitude. “Yes, I was born with money, plenty of it. When I turned eighteen I was given my daddy’s estate, but I left the house to my adopted mother and left,” Tiffany said. “I have the money saved for our retirement and not a day before.”

“Lower your damn voice Tiffany you told me what I wanted to hear.” Messiah said, and then rubbed her thigh. Tiffany grabbed the door handle and Messiah squeezed causing her pain. “When you get an update on this clown I need you to get up with me,” he said looking her in the eyes.

Tiffany didn’t say a word, she just got out the car and headed back inside the hospital. She fixed her face and walked to the waiting area and found Binx’s homeboy Tef still there.

“Did they say anything yet?” Tiffany asked Tef he shook his head no while playing on his phone.

“What’s your name? You look familiar.”

“Terra,” Tiffany replied. “I hear that all the time.” An hour later the doctor came out and informed Tef that Binx was out of surgery and in an induced sleep. The doctor also said if the bullet was an inch closer it could have hit his heart and that they also had to remove one of his testicles. Tiffany knew from the injuries that Messiah couldn’t have tried to kill him because he wasn’t a rookie with the gun. One thing Tiffany and Messiah knew very well was how to kill someone.

“In about an hour you all can go in and see him.” The doctor informed them. “We also have detectives coming in to ask a few questions about his wounds.” Tef shook the doctor’s hand and Tiffany gave a warm smile to say thank you. Tiffany thought if Mallory didn’t know Binx was still alive Messiah could get her to pay them. She figured since Binx won’t be awake she would go to the duck-off and see what her and Messiah’s next move would be.

“I’m about to go home and get some rest when he wakes if I’m not here can you call me?” Tiffany asked Tef.

“I gotcha, put ya’ number in my phone. I think his moms on her way up.” Tef replied handing his device to Tiffany, she put her number in and told him thanks before leaving. On her way outside the hospital she got an email--another job it was an old client.

Messiah couldn’t believe all the information he found out in one day that it all blew his mind away. He rode around town bumping Tupac’s Me and My Girlfriend thinking all his life he got it out the mud. Unlike Mallory and Tiffany he didn’t know who his father was, but their fathers gave them the world. Yet, Messiah ended up in relationships with the both of them and their fathers adored him as their own. Mallory was giving him a whole empire and with Tiffany they’d built their own--Teflon Mafia.

During his years of moving product Messiah had his own team putting in work for him just like Coca Leaf and Ruse. He moved a plethora amount of dope and gotten acquainted with a few bosses in the dope game. When Tiffany walked into his life the way she did it made him put his dope boy hat up and take on what interested her- contract killing. The money he had saved from selling drugs was still in a well-guarded safe hidden in plain sight. Messiah didn’t tell a soul about his finances because just like Tiffany said, there were plans for retirement.

Messiah bobbed his head to the lyrics thinking this was why he need Tiffany, they were alike in so many ways. He didn’t give a fuck about her money or her past all he cared about is them making money together like they’ve been doing. “It’s time to put a nail in this coffin.” He said to himself as he drove

to the duck-off. He had to get some rest and see what else come up.

When he pulled up to the undisclosed spot Messiah hopped out and headed inside. As soon as he closed the door, Tiffany was coming in. “Damn, I wasn’t expecting you tonight.” Messiah stated sarcastically taking his shirt off revealing his beautiful chest and abs. Tiffany ignored the comment and ran a hot bath. “Uh-uh what are you doing? I came in here first so I bathe first.” Messiah said like a five year old.

“How about we bathe together Siah!” Tiffany suggested getting naked.
Knock Knock
someone was at the door Messiah and Tiffany looked at one another. “Ms. Anna?” Tiffany whispered to Messiah, they both pulled their guns out and walked slowly to the door. Tiffany had a towel wrapped around her nude body. Messiah looked through the peephole and seen the neighbor, he backed away and looked at Tiffany.

“It’s the neighbor.” Messiah whispered, and put his gun at his side and opened the door. “Hey, how you doing?” Messiah asked the elderly lady.

“Hi, a woman came by earlier and dropped this off for you.” She said handing Messiah a white envelope with his initial on it.

“Thank you very much.” he told her.

“You’re welcome.” The sweet old lady said walking away with her yorkie back to her place. Messiah closed and locked the door and opened the envelope. Tiffany stood beside him reading the line written.

The offer is still the same.

Messiah knew this had to be from Mallory based on what she told him about her father’s business and the hit on Binx. Tiffany sighed hard and walked into the bedroom and packed her duffle bag up. Messiah followed. “What you doing?” he asked.

“Going to a hotel.” She replied putting her clothes back on.

“For what T?” Messiah wasn’t in the mood for her shit.

“Your bitch knows where we lay our head and if I have to tell you because you don’t know I do not trust the hoe.” Tiffany spat. Messiah didn’t argue any further he did the same, the feeling was mutual. “I have something I have to do before that though,” Tiffany said.

“What’s that?” Messiah asked.

“You just find us a motel, text me, and I’ll meet you there.” Tiffany said zipping up the duffle and throwing it to the door.

The next day Mallory was at the hospital with her family to watch the last few moments of her father’s life. Mallory had to do what she had to do. Quickly she’d put an extra hit out on Binx. Teflon Mafia wasn’t about to get a penny out of her if they hadn’t completed the mission because Binx was subject to hunt her head.

She was sure Tef and Styles were out looking for her so when this whole family ordeal was done she was getting out of town- maybe the country.

Melinda was talking her ear off about their father and old memories.

“In five minutes we will begin the process.” Dr. Hines said looking at each of the family members. Mallory heard her mother sniffling and hated to look back at the tears. The biggest piece of their family would no longer be with them and she felt like she hadn’t granted her father’s wish.

Melinda went over to console her mother while Mallory sat back and looked at her father lay in bed, it was as if he was already gone. Mallory fought back the tears as the doctors started to remove every machine that kept him breathing. She’d never witnessed anything like this in her life especially her own father. Mallory stood to leave the room and went downstairs to take a walk, she understood it would be a helluva ride.

Now that her father was gone she knew his competitors would try and move in on the Coca Leaf Boys’ turf. Messiah came to mind once again, she needed him to protect everything her father had acquired. Though Jesus was a greedy man, she still didn’t want anybody to take what was rightfully theirs. Melinda came outside and put her hands around Mallory and gave her a big hug.

“Did you handle the Messiah situation?” Melinda asked. “You remember what Daddy said.”

“I’m trying Mel, but Binx is still alive and I believe he knows I put a hit out on him so I have to leave town first and recuperate,” Mallory explained.

“Maaaal.” Melinda started in her whiney voice. “I thought you had that taken care of.”

“I did, but shit went wrong so I hired someone else to do Binx and I will have to find another strategy at getting Messiah,” Mallory said. “I planted the seed but…” Mallory stopped talking when she heard their mother.

“Nine fifteen a.m. your uncles and the rest of the family will meet us at the house. Mallory are you coming with us?” her mother asked.

“Yeah, but I’m taking my own car,” Mallory replied. She looked past her mother and noticed Messiah standing on his car. Mallory wandered if he had a change of heart and saw things her way.

“Okay Honey, see you in a bit.” She said giving her a kiss. Melinda hugged Mallory and followed their mother. Mallory waited for them to leave so she could approach Messiah, he looked even better than yesterday.

Chapter Fourteen

Binx was laid up in the hospital with his mind on twenty while his mother was sitting beside his bed watching TV. His throat hurt due to the bullet that went inside of his mouth and out through his neck severing his vocal cord. The thing that fucked him up the most was he only had one testicle and he would have to talk in a raspy tone for the rest of his life. Binx was glad to walk away alive with that, but that was a helluva adjustment. Long time ago his mother told him to leave Mallory alone and he thought it was because she didn’t like her, but she actually didn’t trust her.

His mind was heavy.

Before he opened the door he noticed Tiffany’s car, but the person he let in was far from her. Binx started to think something bad happened to her maybe they had gotten to her too. Soon as she evaded his thoughts she walked through the door with Tef behind her. Binx smiled he was happy to see her alive, but he needed to take precaution. Straining his voice he told his mother to step outside for a minute and she got up and did as she was told. Tiffany walked on the side of the bed and rubbed his hands and smiled at him. Binx was weak for a pretty fine woman like Tiffany, in the matter of days she changed him and didn’t even know it. Tef left the room as well to give them some time alone to talk.

Tiffany’s light perfume graced his nose and he didn’t care that he was all beat up because she didn’t treat him any less. “What happened?” Tiffany asked.
