Dear Reader:
I hope you had a good time reading
Sinister
and hanging out in Prairie Creek, Wyoming, with the Dillingers and Kincaids! I can’t tell you how much fun Nancy, Rosalind and I had working on the story together. (We’re even thinking of heading back to Wyoming again. If we do, I hope you’ll join us.)
However, there are quite a few other books on the horizon before I can even think of returning to Wyoming. I’ve got the paperback edition of
Tell Me
coming to stores in March of 2014. This is the story I truly love. Remember reporter Nikki Gillette and Detective Pierce Reed from
The Night Before
and
The Morning After
? Well, they’re back. In
Tell Me
. Set in Savannah,
Tell Me
is the story of the release from prison of Blondell O’Henry, one of the most reviled and beautiful women in Savannah’s dark criminal history. Her son has recanted the testimony that put her behind bars. Was she guilty of the heinous act of killing her own child and maiming the others, or is she the innocent victim of bad press and an incompetent lawyer? Nikki intends to find out as Blondell’s dead daughter was a close friend of Nikki’s, closer than anyone suspects. Things, of course, are never what they seem and as Nikki uncovers the truth, she discovers well-kept secrets that bring her into the killer’s sights.
In June 2014, look for
Summer Days
, a collection of novellas in which my contribution is entitled
His Bride to Be
.
In August, the next installment of the “TO DIE” series,
Deserves to Die
, featuring the female detectives Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli, whose lives have become complicated in Grizzly Falls, Montana, is available. This book takes up where
Ready to Die
leaves off, so if you’re a fan of the series, be sure to look for it!
By the time September rolls around, I’ll have a new stand-alone thriller on the stands,
Close to Home
, which is a bit of a departure for me. When Sarah McAdams returns to the run-down mansion where she grew up, she expects to find a haven for her and her children. Instead, she discovers evidence of a heinous hundred-year-old murder within the dilapidated walls. Worse yet, her younger daughter claims to talk to ghosts, while her older girl is crossing boundaries that she shouldn’t, evidenced by the recent rash of teenagers disappearing in Stewart’s Crossing, Oregon.
To cap off the year,
Under the Mistletoe
is my contribution to a collection called
Our First Christmas
, being published in October 2014, and Nancy Bush and I have teamed up again in
Wicked Ways
, the fourth installment of the “COLONY” series, which will be available in December 2014.
Phew! It’s going to be a busy year, and to help you keep track of my releases, just log on to

Dear Reader:
I hope you enjoyed
Sinister
, a book born of Hot Tamale candies, walks on the beach, and a glass or two of wine. I had a blast working with Lisa and Nancy, and I would love to return to Prairie Creek, Wyoming, to kick up some dust and stir up some more stories.
Hold on to your hat, because my next book,
And Then She Was Gone
, is coming out next month from Kensington Publishing. As with most of my novels, this was inspired by true events: the kidnappings of girls who were released many years later. What happens to these young women and their families after they’re recovered? What is the “new normal” when years of your life have been stolen away?
And Then She Was Gone
is the story of eleven-year-old Lauren O’Neill, who vanished one sunny afternoon as she walked home from school. Her parents, Rachel and Dan, spent six years scouring their Oregon hometown and beyond. When Lauren is finally rescued, Rachel’s relief turns to heartbreak when she sees that the bright-eyed, assertive daughter she knew has been transformed into a wary, polite stranger.
Lauren’s first instinct is to flee. For years she’s been told that her parents forgot her; now she doubts the pieces of her life can ever fit together again. But Rachel refuses to lose her a second time. Little by little, they must relearn what it means to be a family, trusting that their bond is strong enough to guide them back to each other. Like most of my novels, this story dovetails into a suspense plot, but I don’t want to give too much away! I hope you enjoy
And Then She Was Gone
, available January 2014.
All Best,
Rosalind Noonan

Dear Reader:
I had a blast writing
Sinister
with my sister, Lisa, and my good friend Rosalind Noonan; so much so, in fact, that we’re all thinking of writing another story together, set in Prairie Creek again. There’s just something about cowboys and wide-open spaces and, well, a killer or two on the loose.
Hard to believe it’s the end of another year, but I’ve got several new projects developing for 2014. In July, it’s the debut of my newest thriller, the story of Callie Cantrell, who’s lost her husband and young son in a tragic car accident. Callie works to overcome her grief and guilt on the Caribbean island of Martinique and befriends Tucker, a “street urchin” who is at the center of a dark mystery. Callie’s relationship with the boy puts her in the crosshairs of West Laughlin, an implacable and determined man who’s on a mission to find his brother’s missing son. As the mystery surrounding Tucker unfolds, Callie begins to realize that her own family’s deaths may not be quite what they seemed, and that both she and West are unwittingly embroiled in someone else’s dangerous game.
In the fall, look for the return of Jane Kelly! Yes, it’s really happening. For those of you who’ve asked me about whatever happened to Jane, Dwayne, The Binkster and all the other characters from the Jane Kelly Mystery Series, they’re BAAACCKKK! Look for Jane to be reintroduced next holiday season in a Christmas anthology, headlined by
New York Times
bestselling author Fern Michaels, available in October 2014.
To end the year, there’s the fourth installment in the Colony Series:
Wicked Ways
. If you haven’t caught up with the Colony Series yet, look for
Wicked Game
,
Wicked Lies
and
Something Wicked
, the first three books in the series, and meet the strange and gifted women who live together at an isolated lodge along the Oregon coast, named Siren Song.
